I'm from the UK so every few weeks I would jump on those scales at Boots (other stores available) and use that as my main way to track. I tried to keep the conditions the same as much as possible. E.g. Monday at 9am, no breakie beforehand.

More power to you and your iron will power dude! As others have said, trying to go all in guns blazing probably won't be sustainable, maybe pick one or two and try that first. It's a marathon not a sprint.

Water luckily has no calories in it. Your good either hot or cold! 🥳

I can understand why your head/motivation would be jumbled up for sure. For me, calorie counting is the best way I have managed to lose weight. I lost just over 5st the last time I did it. My only focus was each day I stayed under or as close to my calorie goal. Having those treats is perfectly acceptable too BTW as long…

Had it approx 2 months ago. Took approx 2 weeks for my smell/taste to return. Food during that time was very boring. I wouldn't panic, it's extremely rare to not have your senses come back

The closest thing to magic food I found was konjac rice. A whole bag of it is something like 35 cals. Tastes of nothing but fills you up, great with something like a curry. Ignore the smell when you open it though 😀

Generally you will get a ball park figure from MFP. I've seen it posted around quite a bit that whatever your estimated burn is, half it and log that. Has worked for me over the years (5st loss). Eg. 500 cals estimated burn, log 250 cals and eat those 250 cals back.
-
You should be eating your exercise calories back for sure. The tricky bit is that the estimated calorie burn isn't always that accurate. The general rule would be to eat back atleast half. E.g. 400 cals burned so eat back approx 200 cals.
-
I usually just half whatever the machine says. I usually aim to burn 400-500 cals per run each day and only log 250. 5st 5lb lighter it's never done me wrong.
-
It's in the "goals" tab.
-
It can be over complicated. Just stick to the goals set by MFP and use a digital scale to remain accurate. I've lost over 5 stone just doing that.

Welcome back! Time wise your in luck, you don't need to spend hours and hours in the gym. Weight loss will come from in the kitchen and controlling the calories. I find having children can actually help me because i'm so busy doing activities it takes my mind off of food. A little prep helps too, I like to pre-plan the day…

It's a marathon not a sprint bro. But to answer your question combine weights with the fat loss and up the calories.
-
It's in the goals section of the menu. Under "Nutrition Goals".

Is the weight in lbs or KG?
-
I'm in this scenario today. I've been mega consistent with cals etc. In the gym now, going to work my *kitten* off and just treat today as a 1 off. In the grand scheme of it all, 1 day in hundreds isn't going to hurt.
-
I'm similar actually, for lunch it's the same style salad but I spice it up abit with different dressings or abit of mustard. Hungry now thinking about it.

Calorie defecit is the only way to get rid of belly fat. Sadly you don't get to choose where your body loses it either. Mostly genetics. I lift and was quite over weight when I started. 4 months on and I can see the difference now, quite alot actually. Good luck!
-
If I want something like a Whopper head to the gym first or spread the cals over a few days and then your good to go. Its a marathon anyway. 1 day is nothing in a 1000.
-
My best coping mechanism is to engage my brain. If I logon the PC and play something, my focus is on that. Give it a try. Gaming has it's uses :)
-
Drop that mother *kitten*.
-
If your logging is on point and correct, those cals could be a little treat or maybe save them up for something bigger :) My current favourite being Carrot & Almond cake Mmmm.

I stay away from weighing everyday. Generally I can go up to 3 weeks at a time between each one. It can become abit obsessive checking each day. The theory is sound that if I keep eating in a defecit, I don't worry. I know in the long run my weight will go down. It also feels nice when a considerable chunk comes off your…

What love handles?

Well done. Keep up the good work, slow and steady wins the race
-
Thanks for the info and for sharing your experiences. I'll try this for now and see what happens, it should hopefully have the desired effect of gaining muscle and still losing fat. The theory sounds true, just hope my body responds.

I think your right, this was my initial goal from 21st 5lb. In a life changing way I'd like to be 16st or below. One last thing, its better so space out the protein rather than eat in big sittings right?
-
Okay so my original goal was to get to 18st. I'm approx 12lbs away. So with a few slight adjustments I'm now content with hitting my new Protein target of around 200g per day. Dropping to 1 1/2 lb a week has helped there. One question I still don't know. Should I be aiming for 200g every day or only when I plan on working…

Theres a machine in Boots that I use. When I first started my fitness journey I was 33.8% and every few weeks I do it and its slowly gone down. I do take it with a pinch of salt though. Also I worked my weight wrong slightly, I'm 253lbs.
