Wow, I love squash. I'm definitely going to try this; thanks!

A few days after I joined this group, my dear friend, and very recent ex-boyfriend died from a massive heart attack. for about 40 minutes around the time of his death, I was experiencing some very scary heart palpitations at a party in another state (where I ate no sugar or gluten). I remember thinking how serious this is,…

I was just diagnosed last week (with TSH levels of 55!), but initially felt nothing but relief, thinking that perhaps now, with the right medication, I will finally be able to lose the weight. I really didn't know that much about Hashimoto's before, though I met my half sister this year for the first time, and found out…

Hi. I'm I was just diagnosed with Hashimoto's last Thursday. TSH levels were 55, so it's pretty bad. I knew something was wrong, since my skin has been unusually dry (even for desert living), I have gained a lot of weight, and can't seem to lose it even when I AM exercising, and worst of all (sorry, guys), I was having…

You look phenomenal. I am at 189 pounds, and you are far more fit than I am! Your tummy is amazing. Congratulations for finding the motivation and determination to make such a significant change. I just started getting back on track last week. I hope to follow in your footsteps, as well as those of so many others who have…

Thank you. You have no idea how much I needed to see this today. Thank you for sharing your amazing and beautiful success to inspire those of us who are still struggling.

My previous relationship status was a bit complex in its effects on my motivation. We were both foodies, so it was very motivational to find and make delicious healthy food together. But he had no interest in exercise, and he was concerned I would lose too much weight and not have the curves he loved so much, so I…

I feel naked and self-conscious without mine, yet at home alone, I am always taking them off and then getting frustrated because I can't see, and I can't find my glasses. :glasses:

Have you had a chance to try Udi's bread? It is the only GF bread I have found that actually tastes and acts like regulat bread. I used to drive an hour to get it when I was really craving bread, but now my local store is carrying it, I will always keep a loaf in the freezer just in case I *need* bread on short notice. :-)

Subway has a gluten free bread??? I live in a very small town, and Subway is one of the three chain restaurants here. I should head over at lunch today and see if they have the GF here...They have been getting more GF options at the local grocery store (the only one within a 45 minute drive), and recently started carrying…

I Adore cauliflower. I like it roasted, mashed, steamed, and grated up with some cheese to make a gluten-free pizza crust. About the only way I DON'T like it is raw. :-) Can't wait to try the breakfast version!

If you are comfortable in a half shirt, by all means, wear it!

A sexy bad boy.

Mine was taken on my 47th birthday...yesterday. I ate two bites of each piece of cheese cake and was full, and split the leftovers with my sweetie. I was celebrating having just won a Biggest Loser challenge that day.

NOT TRUE. Green tea does, indeed have caffeine. http://coffeetea.about.com/od/caffeinehealth/f/How-Much-Caffeine-Is-In-Green-Tea.htm

Food Scale, HRM (Polar FT7), 30 Day Shred DVD and hand weights, and fitness games for the X-Box Kinect. And having workout clothes that fit, look cute, and don't make me look like a cow (like the giant T-shirts and sweats I was wearing before) were pretty motivating, too.

This is my favorite thread in the history of the universe. Or at least in the top 100.

Me and Grumpy cat are, too.

Interesting. I guess that makes the OP the leader of the Anti-Paleo cult? Whatever. To quote the OP, "Stop wasting the internets!"

I've lost an automobile tire AND an overweight guinea pig!

I guess I'm lucky. All it takes for me to get my man to cuddle is for me to walk into a room. He's sweet like that.

I add cottage cheese, and sometimes sugar-free pudding mix for a flavor change. If I am using vanilla whey powder with cottage cheese, almond milk, and sugar free cheesecake pudding mix (1/4 package only adds 25 cal), it's like drinking cheesecake batter. I make that one when I am craving a naughty treat, and it tastes…

Actually, Livestrong set my calories at 1089 per day. I'm sticking with 1200. If I want to eat more, I just work out longer to "buy" more calories.

Eliminating sugar, caffeine, and food additives works for lots of people. There is a book called "Is this Your Child?" by Doris Rapp that explains that some childhood issues are actually caused by food allergies. You might want to consider that.

This^^ I easily eat over 1200 calories per day, and I do it without eating any sweets or grains, since I follow a mostly Paleo diet. My diet generally consists of fruits, veggies (LOTS of those), mostly lean protein (Lots of that, too), nuts, and eggs, plus about 10 cups of water per day.

Plain steamed broccoli. And it was delicious!

I use Biochem whey protein, and generally always have 3 flavors: chocolate fudge, vanilla, and berries and whey. I mix them with almond milk (chocolate or vanilla, unsweetened) and crushed ice in a blender. Depending on the day I may add any of the following to get different flavor combinations: Frozen banana frozen…
