  • You are not a bad mother!! I am sorry to hear your husband is deployed. I know how difficult that is. Just do the best you can. You will get there.
  • If your milk is decreasing then go to 1800 calories. Yes the test is important but you will pass it. I was Air Force too so I know where you are coming from. But your baby's health is SO IMPORTANT!! And breast feeding is the best thing you can do for your child. You will lose the weight. I am not sure how old your baby is,…
  • I love to run. It's great exercise, and very motivating especially when you have someone to run with. It does do a job on the knees though. I can't recommend a particular shoe because it really depends on your foot and how it pronates, etc. I will, however, recommend that you get special socks for running that are made out…
  • Eat lots and lots of veggies. Have a salad every day with your dinner and don't put dressing on it. Also have at least one other veggie with dinner. Portion size. I eat cereal and skim milk for breakfast. Then 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese with peaches on it for a snack (low fat, lots of protein). For lunch a sandwich.…
  • I'm in the same boat as you! I gained about 50 pounds (before baby was born), then lost about 30 of it and I have about 20 to go to get to where I was before I was pregnant. I'm also breast feeding. I have read it's not a good idea to cut calories too much because your milk supply will decrease. I'm at 1600 calories and it…
  • I feel the same way.... but "normal" eating in our society is usually portions that are too big, and not enough exercise. Not sure what your personal situation is, but ... something to consider. How much weight are you trying to lose?
  • Yes, I have the same situation in my own family. Sounds to me like they are jealous of your success. None of them are willing to do the work to get to where you are. It is not enough for you to just tell them about the website. They have to want to change for themselves. It may be better for you to just lead by example and…
  • I like that a lot! Thanks!
  • I buy Cary's sugar free syrup. It's very very low in calories and it's yummy. I haven't heard of Old Tyme. what is that?
  • Hi and Welcome! I put mine at 1500 because 1200 is just not realistic for me. It takes longer to lose the weight but I am happier. Also I eat all my exercise calories. You will read a lot about that on MPF and I highly recommend it :) Good luck!
  • http://www.getfitslowly.com/2009/02/12/the-secrets-of-the-slim/ Here is an article that is very interesting. I love the Get Fit Slowly blog and this article nails it on the head for busting myths. I don't think it matters when you eat your calories. I think it matters how many you eat and whether you do enough to burn them…
  • How do you change your screen name?
  • I agree 100% with Laura, this place rocks and you won't regret sticking around! It is so motivating!!! Welcome!!!
  • I just try not to bake. You can send the finished product to me though, that should help prevent temptation  haha
  • YAY!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!! Just take it slow and remember to stretch before you run! and keep drinking water!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO you!!!!
  • This is easy, The Pianist, which is an amazing incredible story about the holocaust. Also Schindler's List.
  • I know nobody is perfect and we all have our moments, but it seems to me like you are sabotaging yourself. I am wondering *why* you want to eat all of those things that you *know* are not good for you and you know eating them is not going to help you reach your goals?? What exactly are you feeling before and after you eat…
  • maybe there is something wrong with them. You should take them back to the store so you don't get sick! :embarassed:
  • 1351 cal for your BMR is what your body needs to burn just to function if you are laying around on the couch doing nothing. If you want to exercise and jog and all that, you should probably eat more. Also eating your exercise calories means on top of your daily 1200 cal, if you work out, say you burn 200 cal from the…
  • Good for you for helping your daughter!! I wish someone had taken the time to teach me nutrition and good eating habits when I was her age. You can do this!!!! :flowerforyou:
  • I bought Body for Life for Women a couple months ago. It's pretty cool. The theme is to learn how to eat healthy and exercise daily, including weight lifting, and to maintain that for life. Also the diet part about what specific foods to eat and not to eat, and portion sizes, that I found interesting and helpful…
  • Ya that's nasty. I like Brummel and Brown. Not sure if flies eat it, but Yum!!
  • Congrats!!!! You can do it!!!
  • I'm on tonight! I'm red!
  • This site rocks. If you stick with it you will lose weight before you know it.

  • Congratulations, and I hope it works out for you! I'm sad because I just heard that my sister got a layoff notice today. I will be keeping my fingers crossed for both of you. :flowerforyou:
  • Evil, evil cookies!! Stay away!!!!!!!!
  • Hey Red Team Ladies!! Things are good with me, been working out every day for at least 30 minutes and eating great. My weight is fluctuating so I hope it's on its way down and not up! I hope you are all enjoying your week! Brooke
  • I think that's ridiculous. Even if your body is not in your best shape yet, crunches are good for you (as long as you're not doing them wrong and hurting your neck) because toning those muscles will help you in the rest of your life - it will make you stronger, more able to do other exercises, and less apt to injure…
  • That's so wonderful!!!!!!!! I'm so glad your husband knew what you needed. I'm glad you were able to rekindle your friendship with your old friend, especially at this time. It's so hard when parents are splitting up and you're stuck in the middle. It isn't fair of your dad to do that to you.... I can understand your…
