  • MFP really helps ... I've lost 17 pounds since mid-August. Work out and be mindful of your calories consumed, and make your workouts fun. I like group classes at my gym. The people and music make burning 500+ calories a lot easier!!! Also, make it a challenge... I wear a fitbit to track my steps. I try to beat my previous…
  • Feel free to add me if you want! Accountability is key for me! I'm down 13 but have about 60 more to go. I am counting my calories each day (and if I go over, I just remember that the next day is a brand new day). I also try to work out after work (I teach 4th grade) each day ... group workout classes at my gym have been a…
  • Way to go!!!! You will do it! I want to do the same. Good luck! Feel free to friend me if you want any more encouragement along the day. rbroy -Becky:)
  • I made taco soup in the crock pot yesterday. Black beans, corn, salsa, diced tomatoes, a little chili pepper, and a taco seasoning packet. You can add chicken/ground turkey if you want. I made mine without meat. You can eat it as a soup with some shredded cheese on top .... or you can drain with a slotted spoon and eat in…
  • I enjoy seltzer water -- zero calories, no sweeteners. Put it in a wine glass to feel like you're drinking a cocktail :)

  • I love to run! Fresh air, no cost, social/can do it with friends, can run at any time/as far as I want/as fast as I want, burns calories, tones my body, reduces anxiety/stress, and makes me feel so good!
  • Richmond, VA
  • It could be a combination of drinking alcohol and eating more when drinking the alcohol. Just a thought. I've been making mocktails ... la croix lime flavored sparkling water, a splash of 100% cranberry juice, ice cubes, and you can even add a lime... put it in a wine glass and you have yourself a fun treat for very few…

  • How old were you when you got engaged? 27 (Feb 2011) How long had you been together before getting engaged? 2 years How old were you when you got married? 27 (July 2011... we were engaged for only 4 months because, as a teacher, I wanted to get married in the summer) Are you still together (if so, for how long)? Yes, we've…
  • Don't take it personally (easier said than done, I know!) In my opinion, the more support, the better. You never know who you may "meet" on here and how they may impact you... I don't know a lot of my MFP friends but I feel like I do after "knowing" them on here. Feel free to add me if you want! Good luck on your healthy…
  • I think it depends on a lot of factors... muscle vs. fat, style/make of clothing, how tight or loose people wear their clothes, etc. The key is feeling good about where you are. Keep up the great work!
  • I understand how you feel. I want support but at the same time I don't want people questioning what I do or don't do. It's tough, especially when your loved ones are trying to help or support but it comes across as nagging. Do what's right for you and hang in there. You're doing a great job. Some of the suggestions above…
  • We eat a lot of ground turkey and chicken in my house!

  • I'm not sure why it * out the store name... it wasn't a word used improperly. However, you can also buy the watch online. Google Sportline watches.
  • I use a heart rate monitor that calculates my calories burned. It's a great investment... only cost about $50/$60 from ****s Sporting Goods. The watch is a brand called Sportline. Well worth it! It motivates me to work harder when I see the calories burned while I'm working out... LOVE IT! Good luck!
  • Are you working out? That will make you hungry and is a critical part of weight loss and weight maintenance. Also, make sure you drink enough water. I agree with the above posts about making your own food instead of eating lean cuisines; they are high in sodium and stripped of many nutrients. Also, by making your own food,…
  • La Croix sparkling water (I love the lime flavor!) ... calorie free, sodium free, sweetener free :)
  • I'm 28 but feel younger! :) Anyone is welcome to add me.
  • What is an HRM?
