I trained for a marathon pushing the kids in a stroller. Lots and lots of stroller time. But walking with a stroller is good exercise too. Or just walking. Is running, or weight, or high intensity interval training (HIIT) more optimum? Sure for people who can handle the high impact or don't hate it so much that they avoid…

Holy crap. That would be my ideal build. Now having been left feeling completely inadequate and fat by this thread I shall retreat to a cold cloudy climate where I will wear bulky cover up clothing and eat nothing but spinach and steroids till it's safe to come out.

The Beachbody products are great. The workouts are tough but effective. So did you get in a workout yesterday? Exercise is only about 20% of the weight loss equation in my opinion. You have to manage the food obviously, that's where the bulk of your progress will come from. However I think exercise is critical for health,…

I think you know what you need to do. You need to find that burning desire that will sustain you when you're hungry and tired or just lazy to get you through those tough days. You need to get your boyfriend onboard too. Buy a new outfit in the size you want to get down to? Write down your goals and make a progress sheet?…

What an inspiring story, thank you for sharing. I am facing one of those big round number birthdays in March and your post was the morning inspiration I needed to keep the pedal on the metal for the next few months. I think there are a lot more stories about not achieving success than people who just doggedly kept at it.…

clioandboy; since your profile says you live in England I'll go with English!

We have really increased our intake of produce for our family of five over the last year. My wife does the budgeting and you are spot on, if you're going to buy produce it's going to cost more. Don't delude yourselves. We spend more on food, but the cost of not eating well is too high!

Slow cooker turkey/quinoa meatballs. I'll have them with spaghetti squash, the rest of the family will have them with pasta. Never tried this recipe before, hope it's a good one.

A few years ago my mother in law got one of those scales that measure your weight AND bodyfat. While the number it came up with for bodyfat was way exaggerated there was a kernel of truth there. Plus then a year and a half ago I saw some pictures of me from the back working on a mountain bike - I'm losing my hair! Well…

You know what it says in the small type on those seat belt extenders? It has some FAA nomenclature like "Field Approval TSO"; ie FATSO! True story. Good for you for making a change.

Great work, what a turnaround story knocking on the door of 40. I am seriously impressed.

I would assume that lifting more than your bodyweight should be pretty easy for you if you're a healthy male. And a halfway athletic height/weight proportionate woman probably can lift her body weight in squats and deadlift. My best lift is deadlift and when I was being more consistent with my gym time I was doing about…

Okay so we're talking about trying to "isolate" muscles; that's what I'm getting from this. That is well and good if you're going to be like Kai Green and compete for Mr. Olympia or just go all out for the optimum physique. But I want my lifts to work many body parts. I lift heavy compound lifts, or do things like pullups…

Try plyometrics.

I once went for a run in the dark and a thunderstorm started in the near distance with a lot of lightning and thunder. I had on AC/DC's "Hell's Bells" and it was magical.

I think your after smile picture is the most telling!

Hmm I have to wonder if that works; they throw out a whole lot of requests like that and perhaps they get a small % of success with their trolling. Taking notes!

Woohoo! Going on my resume now.

So what does one have to do to achieve this exhalted creepy status? I'm up for anything.

Congrats Batt!

P90X Core Synergistics for 58 minutes, 660 calories. Proud of myself because it was a long day at work and I sure didn't want to work out once I got to the hotel, but I "just did it".

ALL my presents this year are fitness related! Maybe this year I see my abs? Received: Bowflex adjustable weight dumbells 50 lbs in 5 lb increments, "perfect pushup" bars, a juicer, and a gift card at Target that I'm going to buy some cold weather running gear with.

Good afternoon Jennifer. I am in Kyle which is about 1/2 hour south of Austin. I try to log in every day and thanks to some higher than usual numbers on the scale lately I've been more consistent with my logging as of late! Feel free to add me.

Great job, way to follow through all the way, impressive results.

Thanks!

Clarification tomorrow is day 10 for her on the Insanity program.

Good luck with that! And thanks for your service. Question to anyone who can answer. My wife is doing Insanity (I've done 4 sessions with her but I'm on the road now). She's about on day 8 or so. Yesterday was "Cardio Power and Resistance, today was "Pure Cardio". As per the schedule (on the calendar) she is supposed to do…
