  • But remember @threecheers20, it shrinks down! what would look like a big salad when raw blends down to only a couple of tablespoons!
  • Yup, I think it's pretty nice. Good Greek yoghurt though, not that sweet 'plain' yoghurt that's actually vanilla flavoured. I wilt the spinach, then purée it with just the littlest bit of water (like maybe 1 tbsp) to get a purée that's thick enough to hold its shape. The only thing is that some batches of spinach are a…
  • I didn't actually puke, I legit can't. No matter how awful I feel, there's this tiny bit of me that's just like 'nuh-uh, one way only!' The thought of my bright green yoghurty spew was almost enough to push me over the edge though.. it would have been graphic! I too would rather be sick for 30sec than feel sick for hours,…
  • Well, as a human guinea pig, I can report that it was not indigestion, it was flat-out nausea. no pain, no burn, just sick to the very pit of my stomach!
  • I've spent almost the whole time since I last posted looking at puppies and dogs on gumtree. lawd help me.. it's big dog season and I might not be emotionally stable enough to withstand
  • I've gone for the most reliable solutions.. an episode of friends a really long hot shower brushing my teeth and now I'm laying in bed planning what I'm going to eat next week!
  • I use an enzyme washing liquid to wash my work hats.. close enough?
  • yup. he's ridiculously clever sometimes, but so totally clueless others. example: he doesn't know how to push a door open. I fed him in my parents laundry a few weeks ago, and half closed the door behind me. not 'almost closed but not latched', literally halfway between wide open and closed. ten minutes later it occurred…
  • he's probably misunderstanding the information his fitbit is giving him - that 1670 is more likely his burn for the whole day.
  • this ^^ it's not your food to eat. you're not allowed to eat it. don't eat it. it's not yours. it's something you might struggle with at first, you probably barely notice you're just having a little bite of this and that, but you need to break the habit. I don't think theres any magical tricks to be had - you just need to…
  • Ooh, I love an excuse to make people look at my boy!! Oscar here is a 3yo rotti/GSD cross (not a lot of GSD genes found their way into the mix though). He's a complete idiot and I love him to bits for it. We've been doing a lot of trips to the park lately, so that he can mess about with his doggy mates there, but we get…
  • After a four day wine and cheese bender with my mum last weekend that stacked 3kg onto the scales, followed by a week of watching my diet carefully, my weight's started to shift back to normal!
  • actually I'm remarkably blase about it! I'm stoked, but I'm also like 'well, that's nice, but it's not the be-all and end-all'. I think new goal #1 will be 'still be under 65kg in a month'. I'm hoping that since I don't feel like 'whew, ive done it, I can relax now', i'll be less likely to go back to old ways and bounce…
  • I must have really plain tastes! I'm reading all these posts about adding butter and sugar and salt and spices and yoghurt and all I can think is that it sounds like far too much hard work! I eat oats every morning, and all I do with them is stick 50g in a bowl with 150ml skim milk and a few blueberries, microwave them on…
  • good on @TillyNix for committing to working through the backlog of unanswered questions! gives me hope that maybe one day someone will get back to me on their thoughts on the GPS watches I was looking at two christmases ago.
  • great article @AnvilHead, though it does leave me wondering what measurements i CAN rely on to demonstrate my improvement! I know you can say 'you'll feel different/the way your clothes fit/yada yada yada', but i like data and i like graphs and i like numbers and you can't graph how good i look in skinny jeans!!
  • thanks @AnnPT77 for a great response with a number of ideas beyond the usual protien shake, greek yoghurt, tofu, blah blah. I'll definitely check out the link when I have more time. where would I locate chick pea pasta? truly, thanks. A number of you have expressed doubt at the accuracy of my body fat/muscle mass…
  • I've eaten celery heaps, and celeriac once or twice, but last night for dinner I tried a new recipe for celeriac noodles with a nice sauce, so I now I know that half a celeriac is too much! I googled 'allergy to celeriac' thinking I was being silly, like 'as if people are allergic to celeriac, you're being stupid Su', and…
  • you're looking quite well for it :D
  • I get what you mean - sometimes I just need to feel like I'm eating a big meal, even though it's actually calorie sparse! My dinners recently have been a massive bowl if spiralized zucchini with a sprinkling of low fat cheese, basil and chilli. huge, and delicious! the other thing that works well for me is soup. obviously…
  • go you!!
  • weighed in again this morning. another kg off!!
  • it's neither. one thing it IS is delicious!
  • i think everyone else has done a good job of addressing your question, so i'll just chip in and say that as a 5'6" girl i am so jealous of your tall man calorie allowance!
  • are you honestly trying to tell me you're too full to eat more than 800 cal in a whole day? what on earth are you eating?! maybe if you open your diary people will be able to give you better advice. also, maybe tell us how much weight you are trying to lose, and your current weight. but.. it's been nine days. give it a few…
  • Have you checked in the pet shops, in the hamster bedding aisle?
  • i'm looking forward to giving it a crack - I don't really see what the problem would be.. either our spiralisers are different (mine's very similar to the inspiraliser), or our broccoli is! maybe I'm talking out of my bum though - check back with me when I've tried it!!
  • maybe the parsnips you get are different to Aussie parsnips - I can't imagine spiralising one! even though the biggest ones at the shops could be up to 9 inches long, they're so skinny for over half that length that they'd pretty much slip through the centre hole of the spiraliser!
  • Brilliant, thanks so much!! That website looks brilliant and now I want to noodleise ALL THE THINGS!!
