  • Me again. I would really recommend the x-train all out low impact hiit video for sure. It really is so so awesome and it's fun to do too, it has great music in it. Incase you haven't heard what hiit is, is high intensity interval training. It really is a challenging killer workout (but fun!) that is friendly to joints. I…
  • I don't like high impact exercises, they hurt my knees when I do them. I'm 29 with 3 kids and only about 30-40 lbs overweight now (I've lost a little over 60). I do lots of Leslie Sansone walking dvd's but I need something with higher intensity quite often now (intensity, not impact!). I really love Cathe Friedrich as a…
  • Thanks! I'll have to check out those links too! I signed up for the dvd rental last night, I'll probably only do it for one month, I think I'll be able to try all that I want to in just a month. I'm really interested in trying Cathe Friedrich's low impact dvd's. I have some of her high impact stuff and I really like her…
  • Has anyone else heard about this website before? I haven't signed up yet, I'm trying to decide which plan I want. I think I want to try the 3 dvd's per month plan just because it probably takes several days inbetween sending them back and getting new ones, so if I have 3 at once, I can probably try more than I'd be able to…
  • Me too, I already have a step but I would have used another one at that price! Do you have a wii, xbox, or playstation though? The Just Dance games are a great and fun workout and that's a good price on them as well!
  • You can find out if it's in your local store online, it has a thing where you can check store availability. If it's in one of your stores, I'd probably buy it online and do the in store pickup just to make sure you get it before someone else does. They will probably go fast.
  • That is a really good idea too!
  • That sounds like the safest way, just count each blob as a whole and not worry about the few calories shorter it would be after the excess is cut away.
  • Edited to add, this is in response to the first reply. There were no other replies at the time. Yeah, I know how to do that, I do it all the time, but it's easier to do it for things that are easier to portion out. Dough seems harder to ensure that each one has the same amount of dough since it can be off a little bit…
  • I wish I could buy them all! It sounds like I should get the 2nd Zumba one if I can only get one of them, so I'll look into that. I really want all of the just dance games, maybe I'll start with one and save up for another one soon. No one mentioned the country dance games, but I read reviews and it sounds like the 2nd one…
  • Ok, so I just found out, the difference in calories I'd be given if I changed to lightly active and how it is now is just 150 calories. Should I just keep it at sedentary and then on the days I work just eat an extra snack?
  • I picked that I wanted to lose 1.5 lbs per week when I joined.
  • Yeah, I think it's the low impact step, it also has something else at the end, body fusion I think it's called. I also have two other Cathe dvd's that have 3 each of her older step videos. The dvd that's called Cardio Hits and the one called The classics. I haven't done step aerobics in about 2 or 3 years because I've been…
  • I wish I could go swimming more often, I really love it. The pools around here are kinda pricy if we take the kids too and if they are with us, we can't really swim much because we're watching them. I think I'll talk to my husband about getting a membership at a recretion center or something. We have talked about it before…
  • If an exercise video says low impact, does that mean it really is? I have a low impact step aerobic dvd that I haven't done before (it's by Cathe Friedrich). I want to add in strength training pretty soon, I don't want to do just cardio because I don't want to lose a ton and then still be flabby with lots of extra skin, so…
  • Thanks for all these ideas everyone! I'm starting to wonder if this was really caused by my exercise, because aren't the Leslie sansone walking videos low impact too? I've been entering in my exercise as low impact cardio. The dvd I have is the 5 day slim down, I only do a mile at a time, once I did almost 2 miles at a…
  • Nope. I have some but I never wear them and haven't worn them in months. I want something I can do at home because I'm a stay at home mom and can't go to gym unless I have somewhere for my kids to go (I'd want free or cheap and that's hard to find). I don't have any exercise equipment at home other than some 3 lb weights…
  • That is weird! Yesterday I had 133 remaining calories and today 49. So maybe it's because I ate a little more of my calories today? I guess I'll just totally ignore the thing from now on. I leave a little more calories on the days when I exercise incase the exercise calories from here are not entirely accurate, I eat…
  • I've seen heart rate monitors mentioned a lot here. I just looked some up on Amazon, I was expecting them to be really expensive but I see one for just $40, that's not too bad. How exactly do they work? They tell you how many calories you actually burned? How do you know which ones are good and which ones aren't?
  • These are all sounding good. I think I'm going to have to ask for workout videos for Christmas this year! Does anyone have a favorite strength training video, or pilates?
  • Which of her dvd's do you have? I have the 5 day slim down and I have 5 fat burning miles but I haven't used the 5 fat burning miles at all yet. I've been doing one mile each time I work out. I'm starting to feel like I could keep going at the end of a mile but I don't think I'm ready for two miles at a time yet.
  • Thanks! These are sounding good so far! What kind of exercise category do they fall under? I'm never sure what to put. For My Leslie Sansone Walk at Home video, I've been entering in "aerobics, general". Are all these kind of cardio workouts considered that as well? I know videos are all different, I have a hard time…
  • So I should definitely NOT include the cool down as part of my exercise right? Should I count the warm up too? So leaving 50-100 extra calories at the end of the day is ok? What about only leaving 30-40 calories like I did twice? Should I make sure to leave more than that? I definitely want to log my exercise. Also, will…
  • Good Earth? Are you in Utah? I thought that was just a Utah store (or maybe there are other Good Earth stores in other places too). If you are in Utah, check Harmons grocery store for coconut oil. I have local friends who buy it there, I'm not sure what the brand is though. I'm in Northern Utah.
  • I don't really know the difference between virgin and extra virgin. I learned about coconut oil from a bunch of other people who use it and I was told that virgin or extra virgin is the kind to get because refined or processed is stripped of a lot of the benefits. I know of some people who mix some into their shakes and…
  • The brand I buy is called Nutiva, I get it from Amazon when it goes on sale. It's really unique, there is nothing else like it. At 76 degrees and above, it's a liquid like any other oil. At lower temps it's a solid. Very solid if it's pretty cold, but if it's room temp it's about the consistency of butter or shortening. It…
  • What about coconut oil? It's a healthy fat and has many benefits (it's also good to use on your skin too!). I put 1/2 to 1 tsp of it into my oatmeal in the mornings, you can add it to lots of things, oatmeal, baked goods, cook things in it, spread it on toast, etc. I mix it in the batter anytime we have pancakes or…
