  • I have the EXACT same problem it seems. I am fed up with myself for all the garbage I have been putting in my body. The only thing that works for me is eliminating all sweets and treats from my house--- anything that I will go to when I am craving. So, I let my kids and husband still have their cereal around because I…
  • My name is Amy and I am 29. I have 2 kids, a 3 year old daughter and a 1 year old son. It seems my problem isn't gaining weight during the pregnancy (it came off like water weight when my kids were born), but for both kids I gradually gained 20-30 pounds within the first year after each of them were born! I lost the weight…
  • Thanks. I love this advice. I just posted something similar under the Whole 30 August/September group called "Week 3". I have failed a lot and not followed all the paleo rules in the past, but overall, I have strengthened my willpower and relationship with food and it has all been worth it!
  • There was one started towards the end of August. It is for August/September 2015 Whole 30s. I have joined and I hope there will be more people to join too! http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/108309-whole-30-august-september
  • Me too! During my pregnancy and for the last 7 months I have drifted farther and farther away from the paleo lifestyle that I had before I was pregnant! I started a whole 30 Sept 1st to help get me back on track with paleo.
  • Sorry you guys! I won't be participating in the challenge anymore due to getting pregnant! Good luck to you!
  • I am starting May 19th. I tried to start a week ago but..well..I had PMS and I realized I did not choose a good time to start my first week! haha

  • I ran 1 mile today, and walked the remainder of the 5k. My time for 1 mile was 10:25. I jogged slowly, and did not have to stop to walk. I was very ready for the mile to end, though! I'm proud of myself. This is the first time in my adult life that I have ran a mile without stopping to walk. Yay!

  • Yeah, I realized after I made that post that I probably should have used less words to explain why I am doing the whole 30. Sorry guys. Whole 30 is tough- I don't want to make it tougher! However, we can do this! I know I can get back to the point where I won't even bat an eyelash when temptations are around me. It's…
  • I am starting a whole 30 tomorrow, May 8! I have done the whole 30 twice before. The first time I got the best results, though. Unfortuntaly, my willpower wasn't strong enough to last the full 30 days for either of my attempts. However, I considered both times a success because they helped me drop between 6-10 pounds and…
  • I really like the idea of this thread to post my progress walking/jogging/running a 5k every day (with a rest day each week). I'm starting today! I'm training for a "fun" 5k through the YMCA at the end of this month. My first 5k was a "fun run" at a state park last weekend. It really WAS fun. I couldn't believe it. So now…
  • I'm starting a Whole 30 tomorrow, May 8. I eat "mostly" paleo- my exceptions are dark chocolate and (GASP) even milk chocolate occasionally. I have been going nuts over chocolate lately, so I feel I must say goodbye to it for awhile- for both my health and for my "wallet". I also am so addicted to chocolate that I…
  • Same with me 1crvygrl.... I gained like 5 pounds over a long Easter weekend. Then I lost it throughout the last 5 days. But now I'm back to where I was last weigh in. Oh well! I have high motivation for weight loss in May!
  • Original start weight back in Dec 2012: 211 Challenge start weight: 157 April 11 weight: 154.4 April 18 weight: 156 April 25 weight: 156 Total April loss: 1 lb Better than gaining, I guess. May will be my month! Bring it on, May!
  • I gained 5 lb over the holiday weekend (actually Thursday-Sunday). So I'm hoping to be back to my pre-Easter weight by Friday.
  • I'm 5'4 (and a 1/2...hehe)
  • Original start weight back in Dec 2012: 211 Challenge start weight: 157 April 11 weight: 154.4 Total April loss: 2.6 lb We have the same starting weights mspoopoo! I hope we motivate each other with continued losses! :)
  • I also need to drink more water! The day gets so busy and I realize my water bottle has been sitting there since I got to work at the same level... I've been doing better with exercise since I joined this challenge- I've walked 4 miles so far this week on the treadmill, making sure my heart rate is up by using the incline.…
  • This week I am doing meatballs & red sauce...no noodles necessary. I find I like simpler meals... although some people would say spaghetti squash is a pretty easy thing to make for noodles. Sorry I can't help you on the servings..the closest thing I've got is from Paleomg recipes that use spagetti squash. She says 1 large…
  • Thank you for your replies. I would not stop eating paleo just because of bone broth... when I wrote the post I was mostly just upset that the paleo media wrongly convinced me of something that just wasn't true. That may have been partially my own fault. You see, I have put a lot of faith in certain websites like…
  • My name is Amy. I am 27 and I am married with one baby girl who is 1.5 years old. I steadily gained weight over the 6 months after I had my baby until I was at my maximum pregnancy weight again, 211 pounds. That was a scary moment. It really made me motivated to lose the weight. I have lost over 50 lbs on myfitnesspal (and…
  • Yes I agree with previous posters... fat is great calories to keep you full. Protein is next... it's a good idea to have protein with every meal -even breakfast. I have followed the Whole30-paleo lifestyle which recommends at least 4 oz of meat OR a couple eggs at every meal, a thumb sized amount of fat, and the rest of…

  • Thanks so much for showing your results- they DO look at lot better IMO. Great job! It's so good to hear stories of improved medical test results after eating paleo... it really reaffirms why I do this and helps keep me away from those cereal boxes (I don't know why but out of donuts, poptarts, bread, etc...all I want is a…
  • No digs intended. Thanks for sharing your experience. I want to check out that book! I am always interested in learning new things about how/why mainstream dieting and medical practices may not always show the clearest of pictures of a health situation. I switched to paleo based on those discussions and reading, so I'm…
  • I value numbers- I always have. I am always searching for other people's results over time so that I can see at least an inkling of truth that someones diet/lifestyle has improved their health instead of just "I feel better". Sometimes I think I feel better just because I'm eating certain foods, but when I had no symptoms…
