  • Oh, another thing: It only has a chest strap and I noticed that you wanted an arm strap. I find that the chest strap is absolutely no bother - stays in place and everything although I usually wear it under a bra top that is quite fitted. I got it on sale for $80 CDN in the boxing day sales but it is regularly $107 CDN.
  • Hiya: I just bought a Polar F4 and it is magic! I got it in red for fun and it does all the things I need for the moment. I show the rate as % of maximum and found it very easy to setup. Hope that helps!
  • What make did you buy? Is it very fancy (lots of readouts??) Sherielf
  • I'm excited for you! I want to get a Polar F4 since I read in "Younger Next Year" that the best way to ensure you're exercising hard enough is by monitoring your heart rate. I would be interested in knowing how it works for you. I am have been so close to purchasing one so many time. Enjoy - I think it will help alot!…
  • A very late welcome! I've just read Younger Next Year and it has really affected me. I have beefed up my exercising to be 5-6 days a week and will start some strength training once I settle in to an aerobic routine. Did you get a heart rate monitor? I don't have one yet but I think it would be helpful as I am doing my…
  • Don't be too hard on yourself - I've done that many times! It is only one meal, one choice. Think of all the times you've chosen differently and all the choices you can still make. You can redeem the day by having only salad with a bit fish for supper to hold you until tomorrow or only vegetables with supper or go for a…
  • Hey, don't beat yourself up - it happens to everyone! When I do something like that (often), I find the sooner I get over it and get on with being healthly, the better. THere are always ups and downs and we learn so much from the downs! Have a wonderful day!
  • Poached egg ( microwaved, really, still runny), mashed on two pieces of WW bread and tea. My very favorite!

  • Weight Watchers Whole Wheat bread is great - similar to Pepperidge Farms in size (smaller slices and thinner but not too thin). I eat it all the time for everything and it toasts up nicely.
  • I had to come back on this thread to say I tried the eating a few kosher salt flakes last night when I felt the "salt" craving come and....it went away!!!! Wahoo! Now if I can just get my DH to stop eating late at night which just puts stuff in front of me and he knows its not good for him.... Thanks again for all the…
  • Way to go!!! I'm on the road to smaller jeans and loved your post!!!! I need to get working out so you are showing how it works if you work it! Have a wonderful day!:flowerforyou:
  • We don't eat out for supper very often since I can plan those ahead and it helps me stay on track. My husband and I do eat breakfast and lunch out at least 1x a week depending on my daughter's schedule. I find that breakfast out is a realxing way to start a usually hectic day. We usually eat at Tim's and split a small BLT…
  • Thanks for all your suggestions and support. I have been salt free after supper for two nights now and working on three - one day at a time. Thanks again for all your help - you really are all "my fitness pals"! Sherielf:blushing:
  • Hi all: I got into some not so good habits over the holidays and I am having trouble breaking one. My husband and I settle down after the busy day and evening and watch a pre-taped show around 9-10. We started eating while watching TV, salty things like popcorn or chips (a big weakness of mine) and now even though I want…
  • Hi SM: I have just finished by first course in bellydancing and totally love it. My new class will start in january but I want to incorporate more practise at home. I am looking for a DVD which will allow me to drill the moves I need to master - shimmies, belly rolls, hip twists etc. Will the Neon 2DVD set do this?…
  • I'm up .8 but total loss is 3.0 since joining the challenge. I have 4.8 to go before the 21st. That could be steep. I'll do my best!
  • I just started taking bellydancing this year and TOTALLY love it. I am planning to start taking 2 classes a week as soon as I can finish my my degree (next june). It is so much fun and as already mentioned you dont' need a partner and it is very sensual. Good for putting you in touch with yourself and having fun at the…

  • Ordered the DVD "Getting RIpped, 1000" and finally received it. I did it on Friday (late posting) and it was great. Lots of room for improvement but I got a great workout. I will do it again tomorrow and again on Saturday so 1 hour 2x a week is what I'm pledging for my strength training. Thanks,
  • Lost 1 lb this week, that's 1.6 in total since joining. 6 more to go for Dec 21, 2007!
  • The Sheri is for my first name and the "elf" is for who I have always thought I was! I am an accountant so this helps me remember who I am and surprises many people who don't know me outside of work. I played D&D in the ole days with dice and am a Lord of the Rings fan. I have always chosen an elven or half-elven character…
  • I've run into a hiccup and will start tomorrow since I did not pick up my set of weights yesterday as planned. Have a great day!!
  • I have dropped .6 lbs which is great considering the weekend I had!! 7more to go by Dec. 21/07!
  • What a great Idea! I'm in. I have not been able to get to our gym lately due to finishing my schooling part-time after work and I am going on a 4/5 plan at work starting in March 2008 so I need to 1) get some excercise other than cardio and 2) cut useless expenses. I have said that I will start working out at home but with…
  • OK, I'm in - I will weight 149 by December 21,2007! Scary!
