Check with your doctor or physical therapies store for a PF brace. I was given this very stiff brace, which kept my foot in a capital L position while I slept. My doctor explained that the foot relaxes at night, and the tendon is stretched when stepping on it first thing in the morning or after sleeping. Thus the reason…

I recall the story of the tortoise and the hare; slow and easy made the tortoise the winner. Now if I can apply this lesson to myself (again). Great job!

I feel your pain. I, too, am a southern woman, and I want to eat southern style. During the stay-at-home for the past year, I turned to sourdough everything, and it has really added on the pounds. At 70 years of age, I find that losing weight now is a lot harder. Activity is practically nil. I just need to change my…

Like many others, I needed to read this and make application to myself. I'm on my "lost count" attempt to remedy my weight gain in the past 18 months. Baby steps!

I'm in the same boat. I was very successful in the past with faithfully documenting my calories in and calories out and achieving weight loss. Over past several years and with health issues, I totally lost interest and neglected my calorie watching lifestyle. Now I know it has to be a go in order to regain good health and…

You look fabulous!

67 here. I successfully lost a little over 70 pounds a few years ago utilizing MFP. Then I lapsed and regained about 75% of the weight back. Now I am back on track again. This time around is not as easy as the first. I am finding out that drinking water, and lots of it, is very key in losing the weight slow and steady.…

I want a slimmer face when I renew my driver's license in March.

I mix a tablespoon of sweetener of choice, vanilla & cinnamon with about a 1/3 cup of cottage cheese. I top a slice of toasted bread, and then broil the cottage cheese "toast" until the top is bubbly. I then top with crushed pineapple. This is a recipe that I frequently ate during my WW days.

Sounds scrumptious!

I love your profound statement of "Be kind to yourself" as so many times I am not kind to myself for slipping or falling off. The slipups only serve to compound the current mindset/behaviors. Thank you so much for sharing your journey experience with us. It drives home the point that weight loss is a change of lifestyle…

In 2014 I lost 62 pounds after going to work part-time in a retail store. I, too, have hypothyroidism. I recorded my calories religiously although there were some days I wish I didn't. My state of mind was that I was accountable for my actions, no one else, and to succeed, I needed to record both good and bad according to…

I once read that diet is a way of eating. I have learned that I've been on a diet, good or bad, all my life. I have learned that I can be in control of my "good" eating as long as I limit my "bad" foods to the correct proportions and document ALL foods that I eat through MFP. By staying within the macros established…

I have failed logging calories several times before. This time I'm motivated by the total number of days that pops up when I log in. I am now at 460 days of logging in, and the fear of losing that count by not logging in helps me to stay motivated. I have several friends who are up in their 600-900 days of logging in. I…

I work part-time in a retail store which sometimes requires a ladder to retrieve items from a high distance up. When I first started this job in 2013, I was very reluctant to climb the ladder, and when I did, I held on for dear life. I noticed quite recently that I can now climb the ladder with a lot more agility, which I…

I will be 64 in several months time. I can say without hesitation that I feel the best I have felt now after a loss of 60 pounds since January 2014 that I have felt in 30+ years. I attribute this success to MFP. In January 2014 I was suffering from Periformis syndrome, where the Periformis muscle was pressing against the…

Bump for later. Thanks for sharing. I also use butternut squash in place of pumpkin for pie baking. Of course, this was before MFP, so this year I will have to be very mindful on my calories when making this pie.

Bump for later! Many thanks for sharing these delicious sounding recipes.

WOW, I mean wow! I am speechless. I recently lost a brother-in-law who was well over 500#, and I really wished he could have seen your post and the many other successful posts by persons here in MFP. You, sir, are truly an inspiration!

My best advise is to take one day at a time. Be faithful to yourself, and log your calories that you have set for yourself. My yo-yoing finally came to a head in January this year when I could hardly walk due to piriformis syndrome (piriformis muscle compresses the sciatic nerve). I am more than determined to get to my…

Ditto. I, too, enjoy normal everyday foods as well as eating out. When eating out, I will pull up my Smartphone app to add the food that I consumed. That sets my trend for the balance of the day. When I have reached my calorie limit, I stop eating even if that limit was reached early in the day. I will be logging everyday…

I'm 5'11". I have lost 43 of the 76 pounds that I wanted to lose. I was wearing tight 18W in pants, and XXL in tops. Now wearing 14-16, but I'm hesitant in replacing my now baggy clothes as I want to lose 33 more pounds. I find that friends in my lifestyle change are greatly beneficial in keeping my nose to the grindstone.…

My NSV yesterday was by-passing the Women's section in my favorite department store and shopping in the Misses section. I haven't been able to do that for 20+ years.

The expressions on your face in your before and after pics tell all. Great job! As for me I have come to realize that it's not just a "diet" (a way of eating) but a lifestyle change, and one that I want to maintain permanently.
