I know I should be patient and everything takes time. I am just so desperate to be lean and get a body that I am comfortable with - I feel so extremely uncomfortable in my skin at the moment and most of my clothes don't fit! (I'm bigger now than I used to be). I guess naturally I think of losing it faster by creating a…

Thanks you two - slow and steady wins the race I suppose. I just can't imagine eating that much, I've spent my whole life trying to eat less lol! I will definitely give it a go and I will be extremely happy if it works, because hey, who doesn't want to lose weight eating what they love!

Thanks for doing the research and not jumping on me for my low TDEE! I am not undereating and what would like to be healthy in every sense of the word. I'm just disadvantaged because I am really short. I do factor in my exercise in my TDEE. I wear a fitbit and on the best days I get to 2000, but on average I am sitting on…

Thank you both for that

I exercise 5 days a week at at least one hour a day. Please keep in mind that I am really small and my BMR is approx. 1100.
-
I know, I'm a tiny girl. I'm only 145cm. Yep, I used that calculator and many many more. I also wear a fitbit so am pretty certain of my TDEE. That's 1700 on days that I walk during my lunch break lol. If I sit at my desk all day it's closer to 1500.

Malibu I am currently 56kg and would like to get down to about 48kg.

@happycamr1 - Thanks again for your detailed response! After seeing your comments and doing a bit more research, I think I'm set on 110g of protein (1g x 110lbs), 116g of carbs and about 50g of fat. It seems to be the best for me at the moment. I'll see how I go with it
-
@happycamr1 - I wanted to add that I'm so torn between whether protein should be high or carbs. Each article you read gives you a different answer.

Thanks for that ☺ that actually looks good!

You look awesome!

I change it up a lot. I walk, run, hike, do the step machine, do a CX Worx class (ab class), do a Grit class (like tabata). I enjoy all these things and don't want to stop doing them. While I know hard cardio can impinge on heavy lifting, that's okay. My goal, at this point in time, is not to focus on how much I can lift…
-
For the first 2 and a half months (thereabouts), I did cardio 6 times a week and Body Pump 3 times a week. Body Pump is light weights, high reps. Almost 4 weeks ago (today is day 1 of week 4) I began Stronglifts 5x5, which is a heavy lifting program. You lift 3 days a week, and then I did cardio 4 days a week. In my first…

Haha thanks :)

Exactly!

Lol why must you kill dreams? I am sure it isn't 100% accurate, only God knows my exact BF%! I have a mirror and a kitchen scale, they are how I've gone from (an estimated) 29.5% to 24.4% BF in the past 3 months. But tracking BF% and all that nonsense is just fun and motivating for me
-
Well I am really excited! I have booked my DEXA scan tonight and I cannot wait for my true BF% haha!
-
A lean body with visible muscles. Yes! I want a DEXA. Hopefully getting one soon. Hmm, if that's the case I should be seeing some nice muscle definition coming through soon enough as I continue to lift.
-
Yea km starting to realise how inaccurate it is lol. I use trend weight too thanks to you :-)
-
Thanks, you're right! I'll rely more on pictures and tape measurements to gauge my progress.
-
Also my husband did it for me, we did a 4 site test and we both have no experience whatsoever lol.
-
That's awesome thank you. Will definitely pop over to your profile page and download that. I guess exact body fat shouldn't really matter. You should just know whereabouts you are and aim for a downward trend.
-
I might stick with the scale only cos it's easier, but I won't rely on it for accuracy lol. Just to show a loss. Tbh I feel I like more like I'm in the 30s than the 20s.
-
Thanks for that! I do have my measurements taken at the gym for progress purposes and I think they're good to compare along the track, like pictures.
-
Ok great, thank you.
-
Oh thanks! Yep I do have DOMS now and have had them all week.
-
Thanks for that. It's the Fitbit Aria scale, it measures body fat percentage. I have been using it for about 12 weeks with a consistent body fat reading and a downward trend (from 29% to 25%), so there's obviously something amiss. The only thing that has changed is that I began weight training, and I've read that water…
-
Thank you! Definitely jumping into the thread and reading through it! It seems losing fat and being muscly is everyone's goal hehe.
-
Oh, excuse my misunderstanding! I meant do I NEED to eat more to get the body that I want. If not, I am happy to continue eating like this. I just don't want the weight lifting, coupled with a caloric deficit, to put my body into starvation. Just an example in the past week, on the days that I have done heavy lifting,…

Yes, this is the kind of shredded I want. Where individual muscle striations show through. I really dislike when people start calling it unhealthy to be 'thin'. When a person is exercising and eating at maintenance (which is usually 2500 and more than enough), I don't see how that is unhealthy. They are fueling their body…
