  • I log pretty religiously because tracking food and exercise has been so effective (32 lbs in 4 months) that that's my motivation for logging. When I have a "bad" week I can look back and see where I went wrong. And I am a huge fan of "pre-gaming." I log everything I eat the day before. That way I already know everything I…
  • I started this one last week: http://youtu.be/xQGrrLpHy78 Since it has been less than a week I don't know about any results as far as weight/inches lost, but I can tell you that my body feels great, it really works my core (and I actually FOUND my core!). I love it. So far tae bo and kickboxing are my favorite forms of…
  • I'm 5'3" and started a little lower than that but definitely in the neighborhood. Started just before the holidays :noway: and 3 1/2 months later I'm down over 25 lbs. My goal is, no matter what I weigh, to wear cut-off jean shorts and a tanktop on my beach vacation in September, and be comfortable doing so...7 1/2 months…
  • Just about every day I have a serving of oatmeal (the quick cook kind so I can use the microwave in my office) with a tsp of brown sugar. About 160 calories. Add a cup of coffee with skim milk - 15 cals if you use a no-cal sweetener, but add 15 or so cals if you want to use a packet of sugar. I have gotten used to grazing,…
  • I would stick to plain oatmeal or cereal, something with lots of fiber. Also egg white scrambles loaded with veggies like spinach, mushrooms, tomatos, leeks, etc., are low cal and very filling. My breakfast is usually plain oatmeal with a tsp of brown sugar and coffee (with skim milk) and that is usually under 200 cals.…
  • You are inspiring. Good job!
  • I think chicken/broccoli with brown rice is one of the best options. But if you are looking for variety try steamed shrimp and vegetables with brown rice. One of my favorites since starting MFP and with 1.5 c of rice and 2 c of shrimp & veggies it's only around 400 cals.
  • I have vegan friends and they are vegan for more "political/moral" reasons than nutrition, and they don't find it difficult at all. Again, they are doing it because they are against animal cruelty so it's easier. So it may be more difficult if you're just trying to be healthier. Do as much research as you can on foods that…
  • Congrats! I love this section of the message board; very inspiring! :-)
  • I found a site that says chicken chow mein is only 120 calories, but I find that hard to believe, when steamed shrimp and vegetables is more than that. I love chinese food and would eat it every day if I could, but we have to eat it every once in a while. This site is quite the eye-opener on the calories in chinese food.…
