  • I am allergic to chocolate and before puberty hit I had brittle bones + serious tomboy (had four little brothers) = ALOT of trips to the ER, I have broken: right side = wrist twice, finger (middle), arm (forearm), collar bone, 3 ankle fractures. left side = wrist, forearm, 4 fractured ankles
  • I'm 5'9 1/2 my goal weight is around 130, but that may change the closer I get to that goal, not sure how I will look, would just like more muscle definition ( ie lose the flab so the muscles show through)
  • Hi I'm Vannessa, 31 years old soon to be 32. I live in Alberta. I have been lifting weights on and off since I was 15. I come from an extremely athletic family, we are all into lifting weights. I am the oldest and only girl with four little brothers. I try to get to the gym at least 5 times a week, for the most part it…
  • Well then that means that mine is alot as well :) I still have 41 to go. As far as wasting your time, its not a waste of time at all. More muscles means more fat burned. Cardio is great to go with weights, however if you only do cardio you will end up being a smaller version of what you are. Lifting weights, you can…
  • I completely agree with you on the bias. There are a few women that do lift at my gym but its the 5-10 lb barbell curls, and don't get me wrong I don't think there is anything wrong with lifting that weight. Just upsets me when I grab the 30lb ones and I get dirty looks, well dirty looks isn't right, its almost disgust…
  • Thank you for your perspective, I really appreciate it. Its great to know that I am not the only woman out there that thinks like this. Not really for a guy's perspective, everyone's really. I think I am just mostly trying to find people to help me not listen to the haters. Give me the support that I am looking for because…
  • I know that muscle weighs more than fat, the funny thing is my scale shows that I am losing bf and gaining muscle mass for every % that I lose in bf I gain in mm. I could try changing my scale to the athlete setting which is for people who train hard and see what happens. As far as the 45 lbs it comes from everywhere, I…
  • Well I know with my brothers two of them seriously lift weights, the other one does off and on lol. My own brother has a very high metabolism and in order for him to just maintain his current body weight (he is around 235 lbs, 6' 3") he consumes around 10,000 calories a day. When he is in a building cycle he has up to 5…
  • Oh for sure there will be some
  • Well I don't know about an elite athlete, but the goal is to be at basically a bikini competion body weight. On here they are saying a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 25 currently it says on here that I am at 25.8. And a healthy weight range is between 125 and 162 so I figured in order to get to competition size I need to…
  • I have a body fat scale and its currently at 29.6
  • Huh, thats crazy LOL maybe there is a relationship.............I dunno :)
  • I think your waist relationship to your weight really has to do with genetics and body type. I am currently 175 lbs but have a waist size of 27 inches. So who knows, everyone is shaped differently.
  • Hi all, I've been on for exactly 16 days, love to have friends to motivate and to motivate me. So everyone feel free to add me if you like :)
  • Feel free to add me I love to motivate people and get motivation in return :)
  • Oh and I am usually in the gym 5 days a week, sometimes six depending on how its going and how much I hurt lol. But I train different muscle groups everyday, so it gives my body time to recoup. Cardio is done everyday
  • Today I burnt 1300 +, I do 60 minutes of either elliptical, bike or running, sometimes just split it up and do all of them, I also weight train for up to 120 minutes :)
  • I find that when I push it to the limits, which I try to do everytime I am at the gym, that always happens to me. I always shake, I think that its just from pushing really hard. :)
  • OHHHHHHHHH, sorry makes way more sense now LOL. Sometimes the lights on but no ones home :)
  • My weekly goal setting is 2 lbs I know thats not recommended. The 1500 from MFP is what they are saying to my body needs to maintain my current weight, with the goal setting of 2 lbs its recommended that I consume 1200. With working out of course I do get to consume more calories. My scale does not have any settings other…
  • I find it supremely hard to control myself the week before. I am sooooooo very hungry and always hungry, I have found that if I graze, and I do try to limit the amount and just keep switching my food around ie, eat a few nuts, then a few crackers. I find that I dont start bingeing on one thing and manage to keep sane. My…
  • Oh being bloated for sure causes issues, its water retention, no word of a lie I can fluctuate between 5 and 10 lbs a day when I have my period, it sucks. I would wait until your period ends and then weigh yourself, you will get a way more accurate assesment, without mother nature putting her two cents in :)
  • I would for sure check on some online, there are some really great programs out there. Start out slow, depending on what you want to do and what you would like to achieve. There are alot of conflicting passages of information, but my rule of thumb is I let my body tell me what I need. It is super easy for me to put on…
  • I agree with everyone. You need to get help, take it from someone that has had a diagnosed eating disorder (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating) it is extremely important for you to get help NOW! I hid my problem and thoughts from anyone and managed to do so for way to long. The longer you wait the harder it is on your body,…
  • My brothers are all body builders and are constantly trying to gain weight, they all do a few different things, but the one constant is the amount of calories they take in and the amount of protein. My one little brother needs to consume 10,000 calories a day just to maintain his current body weight ( I know what your all…
  • Alberta here, and a newbie lol, feel free to add
  • I am one of those people, that once I start working out, I do to an excess...........retardly so. However, I quit going and let life get in the way basically, and feel awful because of it. I honestly think it is way easier just to stay with it, because once you stop, its real hard to kick your butt to get going again lol.
  • Thank you all, it makes me feel so much better about asking for help when people tell you that it is okay to do it. I have only just joined this site, last thursday being the first day. I am so glad that I did. You have all shown me what a true community is, it helps to know that there are people out there, just like me…
