waist/weight relationship

Recently I have noticed that my waist in centimeters and weight in kilos are generally quite similar.

For example, currently my waist is around 120cm and I weigh 121.6kg, and my target weight is 14stones 2lbs, with a 36" waist - which is curiously 90cm (35.4") and 90kg.

Does anyone know whether this is a coincidence or is there a known relationship?

Maybe I am misunderstanding this, but I do not think it is possible to determine what your waist size will be in relation to your goal weight. We can always hope though, right? :)

I think your waist relationship to your weight really has to do with genetics and body type. I am currently 175 lbs but have a waist size of 27 inches. So who knows, everyone is shaped differently.

Hi I Love Vinegar, I think you are right - I was able to refer to a 36" waist because back in the days when I was young and fit that was my waist measurement :-)

I am 6' 5" and with my build (not the current excess weight) etc a 32-34" waistline is never going to happen!!
