This isn't really a thread about how to log foods, I've pretty much got that down, but thanks.

True, I understand that. BUT I find myself NOT snacking on something if it's something I don't know how to track, so it's usually something like 14 Special K cracker chips, 1/2 fiber one bar, 22 green grapes, etc. Y'know?

I pretty much log everything I eat. Today I did a bit of snacking throughout the afternoon and evening, and with my dessert already logged in, meals, and snacking, I wound up with 28 calories left. But I figured it really wouldn't hurt to skip that 200-something calorie dessert, so I removed that, so now I get to add those…

Wow, that's awesome!

So....what happens if you decide to "eat back" those calories? What if one decided to do so every. single. day? Just curious...
-
I see :) wow, my average is 10 - 11000 steps per day too but I seriously doubt I could eat 400 extra calories! Good to know that I could though if I was particularly hungry one day, instead of starving with the only 2 options being deal with it or go over :)

Oh!!! Thank you! I guess I'm sort of starting to understand how this works now :D I was looking in the wrong place entirely!

I keep hearing about this blue "i" but I can't find it anywhere. Jeez I'm really starting to feel dumber than a box of rocks...

Well, I suppose that makes sense. I just set it from "Active" to "Sedentary", and after logging 30 minutes of exercise and having not eaten anything yet today (I know the whole thing about 'breakfast being the most important meal', but just the thought of food in the am makes me ill) and in my diary it says "*You've earned…

It had just been synced when I posted that.

I don't really understand. I have nearly 11,000 steps for the day, and from the time I posted my last comment to the time I chased a 3 year old around, got her room picked up and got her bathed and dressed for bed, my calories added (earned?) went from 60 something to a puny little 3?? Not that I was going to use them…

So...basically you have to keep moving, zero down time, or you get calories taken away?
-
I have enabled negative adjustments. I am new to this, as well as to Fitbit. I have a quick question - how is it that, after exercising for 60 minutes, I now have -44 calories from exercise? Shouldn't it be giving me more calories, rather than taking them away...? ETA LATER: Oh, never mind, I get it now "If you receive a…

Thank you, Glinda1971, I've sent you a friend request. I think I will go by what MFP says for calories as well, however, right now it says I have 523 calories left for the day (I've already eaten my meals for the day and even logged my dessert), even though I don't think there's any way I can eat all those. I understand…

So which calorie amount do you go by, those in your Fitbit dashboard, or those on MFP? Because on mine, each website shows a different amount...?
-
Ok, so I enabled negative calories (I didn't even know you could do that!) and changed my weight loss goal from 2 pounds per week to 1.5 pounds per week. It now says I can have 1480 calories per day, and has given me 25 extra calories after calculating the calories just "earned" from exercise. So according to MFP, I have…

5'8" / 161.6 / 52 / F ETA: I walk at about 2.5 - 3mph on the treadmill every day for 90 minutes, broken down into 3 half hour segments. And care full time for a very active 3 year old Granddaughter :)
-
So did you wind up eating those? What do you usually do?
-
Thank you!! This is another thing that confuses me, that the numbers in MFP and Fitbit are different. But I just got my Fitbit recently and don't fully understand everything about how that works, so thank you for the link, I will definitely give it a read!
-
Thank you, I will check that out for sure. :)
-
I see. I don't know....because I guess I would rather lose 2 per week? But yeah, maybe that IS too aggressive a goal... I agree with number 4, this can't be good to be this hungry all the time :/
-
I have a Fitbit and the exercise was entered automatically.
-
Thank you. I want to lose about 15 pounds. I'm trying to keep my calories at about 1200 per day, as recommended by MFP, but most of the time I'm just always so hungry. I guess I should probably do as you suggested, jemhh. But that brings me to another question - If I burn up a bunch of calories through exercise, I just…

I have that problem sometimes. It helps me to remember this quote I read somewhere... "never give up what you want at the moment for what you want the most". That being said, I LOVE my cakes. So I got an angel food cake mix, a can of crushed pineapple and mixed them up; made them into cupcakes {it made 31 large ones) and I…

I get that ish all the time - "what?? You don't need to lose weight!" I guess it's because I'm tall and the weight 'distributes' more evenly, I dunno. But it does get old and annoying. I just tell them "believe me, I do".
-
Wow, way to go, you look great! Not sure why no one has said anything, they'd have to be blind not to notice.
-
Oh, awesome, thank you :)
