Hi Mplagge9940, I am newly diagnosed with RA and am so glad to see this on MFP! When the GP diagnosed me and referred me to my rheumatologist I was scared, and angry, and confused; I thought I would have to give up being a nurse and that I was doomed to be in a wheelchair.

The only reason why you shouldn't eat bananas is if you are allergic to them, can't tolerate them, or don't like them. They are healthy when eaten in moderation and within the ADA guidelines of a serving size. The only foods that can be safely cut out of your diet are those high in refined sugar. Use the food pyramid as…

When I don't have school and work to worry about I do. However, especially during the school semesters I may not always be able to pack food and have to eat on the fly. I just record what I actually eat. It also helps me, because I have a tendency to under eat when my stress level goes up.

Everyone has their preferences, no matter how shallow and stupid. I say F**K em. There are guys out there that really do not care about weight, or they prefer big women. :D

Cottage cheese! Oh my GOD that stuff is discussing. I used to eat it every now and then, but my ex used to eat one of those 16oz containers of the stuff in one sitting with salt and pepper. I can't even look at the stuff without gagging. I also despise ground beef, pork rinds, and liver. I make it a point to avoid eating…

I go to counseling. Sometimes we can't do things on our own, which is why there are so many mental health counselors, psychiatrists, and group therapy sessions. Once you address the root of your problem, then the real healing can begin.

You may want to discuss with your doctor about being put on something else for PTSD treatment. According to the FDA only 2 drugs are approved for the treatment of PTSD and the group of drugs that offer the greatest benefit to those with the condition are the SSRI drugs ex: zoloft, paxil, and prozac. I'm taking Prozac now…

You're not the only one. I started off as a 42 DDD/E and am now down to a 38 DDD/E. Everything else is shrinking and the first place other than my face I lose is my stomach.

I am able to complete medication rounds at work without getting winded or extremely tired. When I was 60 lbs heavier I had to stop and rest every 15-20 minutes because of hip, knee, ankle, and feet pain. I would tire out quickly and always would take over 2 hours to pass medications no matter how many patients I had. Now…

No you're not alone. I went to the YMCA here in town and was able to keep up with a really difficult group fitness class. As soon as I was in my car, my husband looked at me and asked me what was wrong. I burst into tears. I was afraid the others were looking at me disgustedly because I was the only overweight girl in the…

I went to a local restaurant with my family where one of the guys that made fun of me all the time worked as a waiter. He was one of those jocks that was in my English…
