  • i plan my workouts and meals during the workday. sporadic 5-15 min romps thru msg boards, youtube videos, and online stores. .....aaaaand i don't feel guilty, since i'm basically on-call 24/7. :#

  • when i was bulking, i had a trainer tell me he wanted me drinking a quart of milk a day. *dry heave* i struggle doing milk on a regular basis - i have since i was an infant; all types of milk, too. PASS ON THAT.
  • i like unflavored protein like Iso-Rich (Jarrow) or TwinLab Vege, so i can have whatever flavor suits me that day. banana.... chocoholic.... peanut butter.... cookies n' cream..... cinnamon roll..... etc...
  • ^THIS. And, like, most of my FL, cuz they are a bunch of badasses.
  • i didn't realize how spoiled i was! *We have 7 kitchens for 100ish employees. *2 of those kitchens have dishwashers. *All of them are stocked with snacks and drinks, so no one feels obligated to snatch anyone else's fridge foods. *I have caller ID on my phone. WHOA.
  • not IIFYM.  :drinker:
  • IMO, rude is rude. There really is no way around that (in either direction, I might go so far as to say). But, as a corporation, you've got to respect their right to cater to whatever clientele they think will net them the most profit. Feel free to patronize other stores - Lulu will be Lulu, as will Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph…
  • I do six, but I rarely ever sit down for one. I'm constantly eating when I'm awake. It's personal preference... and a little discipline (to stay within your cal/macro goals). Cheers!
  • DIAMOND PUSH UPS.
  • yeah. i average a gallon. that's 132 oz. activity level, temperature, foods, feels. and urine color. all of these are factors. just drink! :)
  • i agree. LBM incorporates everything that is not fat. and water retention is pretty standard for starting a new program. keep it up, and give it a couple of weeks... you can start looking for trends, and then make a call. good luck!
  • i love reading all this awesomeness... it's so inspiring! (and a fantastic reminder that everyone starts somewhere, and time and effort get you places you'd never dream when you first start.) i'm a total n0ob, just starting lifting in March. >>*for reps, haven't tried 1RM yet: Squat - 155lbs DL - 180lbs Leg…
  • that is a phenomenal accomplishment! you may never be able to look at it quite the same way as the family and friends around you, but it is ALL YOU, and well deserved. rock on, with your skinny-self! :drinker: :flowerforyou:
  • none. at all. unless it's.... you know. red week. ain't nobody got time for dat.
  • only just found this thread - thank you ladies for letting me leach off of your experiences (and expertise)! about a month into my cut and feeling a bit ambivalent about it.... i think there is some definition coming thru, but i'm paranoid about losing the muscle i worked to put on. scale isn't moving much, which i'm happy…
  • a few cents i'll add to this thread: lazy people don't hire trainers. lazy people don't spend hours at the gym. in my opinion, those words don't go together. i will also argue that if you hire a trainer specifically with the goal of getting you into the best shape of your life, it will be neither "quick" nor a "fix," as…
  • although brand plays a big role, especially in different areas of the world, so does body fat percentage and lean muscle mass. a runner, a couch potato, and a body builder all with the same height and weight will not wear the same sized clothing, no matter what brand. *but since you asked, and i'm 2 lbs less than you, i…
  • try supersetting them. do you do them every day?
  • amazing how body composition changes the fit of your clothing. i love the variety here! 5'6 - 141 lbs, size 4 pants, small tops -- my butt and thighs are stretching my pants out now, but the waist is gaping. (Hello, squat booty!!) and my shoulders are too broad for my smaller tops now, although sleeveless tops i can still…
  • i think keeping it fresh went a long way for me - when the same old routine got boring, i found something new to engage in: new exercises, new fitness goals, new food adventures (pescatarian, vegetarian, ethnic exploration, etc.). i hit my ideal weight in 2006. even after having a baby, i knew enough about the process and…
  • i keep a one liter cool gear bottle with me at all times. sometimes just having it around makes you take sips; and sometimes a sip is all you need to realize you could really stand to drink something. good luck!
  • usually 250-300, but i eat 6 times a day. i'd eat more at breakfast if i didn't expect to eat again before lunch. same as the other posters - eat when you're hungry and you'll be good to go!
  • it doesn't matter what form the sugar comes in - your body can't tell the difference. it is simply down to quantity.
  • Um.... no. The body can process about 5-6 grams of sugar at a time - anything over that is available to be burned (via exercise) for a short period of time, before being stored away as glycogen, or as fat if your glycogen levels are optimal.
  • <<< didn't even have to change my prof pic for this one. she must've been talking about me and my peoples.....  :drinker: :glasses:
  • Cut back does not mean eliminate - track your sugar intake, it may surprise you. The FDA recommendation is 50g per day (or somesuch) - there are 9g of sugar in a small orange, to give you some perspective. Also, sugar is not in EVERYTHING, but it is in many things. Just another reason to be cognizant of what you put in…
