  • @claireychn074 I guess I’m impatient and wishing I could lose like I was 21again. I’ve tried 1200kcsl and it’s not sustainable for me. You are right, im going to have to be happy with the tortoise approach. X
  • @AnnPT77 and @cmriverside I have been tracking for a month (weight watchers prior to this). I sometimes don’t eat all 1700 due to work. Apple Watch shows burn If 2500 average a day. I walk a lot as dogs and kids. I use food scales and cook mostly from scratch. I work a mix of nights and days. I have lost 2lbs since…
  • I was a kid who hated sport and my parents made me aware that I was overweight. I have battled both extents of the weight problem. I have had periods where I didn't eat and now I have eaten too much. I would put the effort into finding a sport he likes or even just organising adventure days where the family do it together.…
  • Would spinning be okay? I have a foot tendinitis at the moment and have to rest it as very swollen and painful to walk. Your problem is obviously more severe but I feel your pain!
  • That's really helpful, thanks :)
  • I only gained 20lbs and didn't work out other than swimming. I did eat very well, avoided a lot of processed stuff and obviously didn't drink any alcohol. I think if you get your head round the fact that you are only eating for 1 and not two then it isn't hard to keep the gain reasonable.. Like everything in life if you…
  • Your body has just made and then given birth to a child. It will not return to its pre pregnancy state in 20wks. It takes 9months to make a baby and i'm afraid it will take most of that for you to recover from the process. I would say you are doing to much if your exhausted and that this is your body's' way of saying it…
  • Strange, I just posted a recommendation on a book by Geneen Roth that advocates mindful eating. I have found it useful to be aware of the link between hunger and emotions. I began to realise i am not always hungry but that some feelings have me reaching for the crisps! Anyway I am just starting on the quest to fix my…
  • Im very sorry for your loss and please be kind to yourself. In the UK there is a support group called SANDS and they are a really good support network but i am sure they have international equivalents. Im a midwife and have dealt with miscarriages and stillbirths for a many years. It is normal to feel empty and dont worry…

  • Do you think you ate more healthily on slimming world? Maybe on the red days the cut in carbs boosted your weight loss. You could have a big bowl of homemade chilli just dont have the rice or bread with it. Try using wholegrains as they will fill you longer and try and up your protein. Healthy fats also help curb appetite…
  • I dont im sorry i live in Scotland and we dont tend to have the whole peanut butter and jelly thing! Jelly by it's very nature though would be sweet so i dont know what you could swap it for. It may have to be an occasional treat rather than a staple (sorry). A really good book is James Duigan "Clean and Lean Cookbook".…
  • Fresh Rye or Spelt bread are better than wholemeal. Unsweetened peanut butter is fine but jelly is full of sugar or sweeteners which isnt great for insulin resistance. Chicken, oatcakes, lean beef, lamb, chickpeas and lentils are all good sources for a low-carb diet. Sometimes for lunch i have oatcakes with hummus or with…
  • Hi im new to this site and am doing the clean and lean diet at the minute. Our list of foods dont sound too dissimilar and im finding it okay now (day5). First 3 days i had a dreadful headache and felt very nauseous but that has all passed. Good luck and hope you continue to find it so easy x
