  • I am 5'4" and shooting for 145 lbs. =)
  • I made this this week, and it is DELICIOUS: http://www.myrecipes.com/recipe/chicken-chickpea-tagine
  • It took 20 this last time, but overall I've gone down 4 sizes (US 18 -> US 10 at 5'4") and lost 67 lbs which suggests about 17lbs per size for me.
  • It's amazing in a billion ways. One of my go-to recipes is http://paleogrubs.com/stuffed-spaghetti-squash-recipe
  • I feel pretty confident sizing down. I've been the same size for the past 30 lbs, and I think I probably could have transitioned to a smaller size sooner, but I've been weirdly hesitant. Today, my work pants were noticeably too big to the point where I felt a little awkward and literally bought pants a size smaller on my…
  • I used to use half and half but have switched to almond milk due to having some dairy trouble for health reasons. Both worked great for me and cut the acidity very well. I'm not a big fan of ~flavored creamers, though. So, if you're looking for something with a bit more taste to it, I agree with the recommendation up…
  • This was going to be my comment. Intermittent tiredness or insomnia is one thing, but continuous exhaustion following a good nights sleep may be a different underlying medical condition (thyroid disease is a common culprit). So, you might consider just getting checked out if it's something other than a little sleepiness.
  • Congrats to all finishers. I just got back from doing w8d3. I am slow as hell, but I did it. Almost made it to 3.1 miles and just kept walking during cooldown to hit it. So, I'm slow. and sweaty. But I did it. =)
  • i had a fitbit ultra for years that died on me a few months ago. Getting a charge for my birthday (in 2 weeks). So, if anyone is bored and wants to add me in advance of my receipt of it... https://www.fitbit.com/user/22SWST
  • didn't update on Saturday morning, but I did (mostly) W8D2. I ran for about 20 mins then had to start taking breaks. 2 mins walking before jogging again. So, I jogged all 28 minutes, but it was chopped up again. =( tonight is supposed to be W8D3. Really hoping to push through like I did in week 7 and do this last day with…
  • w8d1 today, and I did it first try. Woohoo. Not easy for me (as always)
  • Well, I dug in and did w7d3 straight. It was torturous, but I somehow did the 25 straight again. Grant me strength to do 28 on Wednesday. Might have to take 4-5 attempts to make it through the week haha.
  • So, I tried W7D2 on Wednesday and really struggled. I find my left knee starts to hurt quite a bit right around 15/20 mins. So that night, I ran 10 minutes and then walked for like 30 to get the distance in. I tried again today and did better, but not 25 straight. I did 15 mins, 2 mins walking, 6 mins jogging, 2 mins…
  • @Gska17 - Woooo! That's amazing! Congrats =) Well, I just did w7d1, and boy... It's so weird because I feel OK doing it, but then when I check my HR, it is super high (177 - which is the upper end of "athletic training" according to my treadmill)... And also, my left knee is fine up until 22ish minutes into actual jogging.…
  • I don't really want to get into an argument, but two people did, in fact, tell me to either eat nothing at all or to eat "real" dairy. One apologized, which I appreciated. I posted asking for suggestions for dairy substitutes. I did get good recommendations (rocking some almond breeze unsweetened in my coffee as we speak).…
  • So, vit D deficiencies are often caused by being overweight. I also have one that comes and goes. I *highly* recommend you go on the meds your doctor suggested (if you're enlarged, it's probably propylthiouracil or methimazole). And you'll likely be put on a prescription level of Vit D for a month or two, and they'll…
  • Hypo and hyper thyroid symptoms don't fit easily in a box. I had a mix of symptoms with my initial diagnosis (Grave's Disease - so hyper). Some people with hyperthyroidism gain weight. It's not unusual. Just work on following your doctor's regiment until you figure out what works to get things regulated. Keep logging your…
  • I have to say that I find the bolded part to be very true. In fact, I posted something not too terribly long ago asking for recommendations on dairy free milk and yogurt substitutes. Within the post itself I explained that I have Celiac's Disease and have been GF for 3 years, but I've been symptomatic lately. And a common…
  • I find this interesting, but it's also telling me I need to be eating like 2,600 to maintain my current weight based on activity, etc which seems.... high.
  • 5'4", 185 lbs, US size 12 and a L in shirts (occasionally a medium). Waist 33" and hips are 45".
  • Finished w6d3. Every time I finish I day, I'm slightly surprised that I've done it. 22 minutes jogging? Again... I'm slow as hell, but it feels nice to finish it. A little sad that from here on out I don't get any walking breaks... gonna be a rough last 3 weeks =O
  • Make sure your meds are right and keep at it. Sometimes it can be a little slower/tougher for us, but it still works. I was diagnosed with Graves senior year of high school. I had my thyroid irradiated, and now I'm on levothyroxine for life (and recently found I have Hashimoto's antibodies, too). It's a lifelong struggle,…
  • I'm impressed with all the commando at the gym ladies. I feel like I'm too ~modest and would be neurotically worried somehow that my pants weren't effectively covering me up. I do some light lifting and run in my gym, and I wear just plain old cotton bikini cut underwear (sometimes silkier), and I've never had a wedgie…
  • go team pear shape! Everyone looks great. It's interesting as you get smaller, the difference between bust and hip is a little less noticeable. So, everyone looks a little more hour-glassy to me.
  • w6d2 completed as well! It was... not easy tonight. Hoping for the best this Saturday morning... haha
  • from Florida and living in the greater DC area these days
  • 5'4" HW: 238 CW: 185 GW: 160 My calorie intake is 1470. I jog/do basic weightlifting 3x per week and do very simple walking 5x a week (literally my lunch break I go on a 20-30 min walk around the area with a coworker). I don't often eat back my calories. If I do, it's about 25-50% of what I log.
