Could I please be added to the group if there's still room?? I'll be 32 at the end of November, have 2 DDs(4&7), and would really love to be down at least 20lbs by New Years. I could use the support and I'm pretty active online daily.

I've rinsed the bajeezus out of them and still can't ever get past the smell. But I do have a pretty sensitive sense of smell according to my husband.

I think the most important thing is to start diligently tracking. If you honestly don't know how much you're eating, that's the problem. Be honest with yourself and track everything that goes in your mouth. The results might surprise you.

I love going for Japanese as a treat. Sashimi, miso soup, salad w/ a tiny bit of dressing, edamame, and some hot tea. Yum!

My husband said something to that affect the other night. He shut his mouth after I had him taste a bite of the sauteed spinach I was eating. Herbs and spices can do wonders. ;)

Nagiri is when the raw fish comes with rice under it. Sashimi is when it's just served as raw fish, no rice.

Like the PP said, they definitely help with portion control in a pinch. I always add 1/2-1 cup of frozen veggies to them before microwaving to bulk them up. Oh and drink a bunch of water to compensate for the sodium content.

Not a teacher, but an elementary school secretary. I have massive respect for you teachers. I was a WW member for many years, up until a few days ago when I canceled in favor of MFP. I also have 2 young kids, not quite young as yours, but I understand putting them first and letting yourself slip in the process. Good luck!

Good for you on starting your journey now. I just turned 30 a few days ago and wish I had gotten serious a year ago. The beginning of your post sounds a lot like the beginning of the blog I just started on here. Good luck! I hope in a year you're able to have that birthday you envision.
