  • I love my lattes. I have swapped to unsweetened almond or coconut milk (30-60 cal per cup), a splash of vanilla, and sugar free syrup. For me, I don’t mind trying to find better options so I can still have them.
  • We had to drastically cut sodium because of my spouses BP, It is everywhere and where you least expect it. Again first it was bland, but after a couple of months, we now find things are too salty. Here are some of our biggest tips: -Don't add any salt to cooking, at the end, if you feel you must, do it after you taste it,…
  • I have done a pretty close recipe. I don't use the seasoning, and add more bps elegies and little bit of meat. I bake them in a silicon muffin pan (comes out much easier). They will last in the fridge for about 3 days, however, I freeze them and microwave in the morning for about 1,5 minutes.
  • I had a super picky eater when she was really young, and she was very very under weight (under the the 1st percentile). The paediatrician would tell us to feed her anything we could to get her calories including ice cream, cream, chicken fat , junky foods, etc. I didn't want to do that as I always have been overweight, and…
  • I think the OP is trying to preserve them and apples frozen directly don't taste good afterwards. I just make the applesauce steaming plain and freezing. A little sugar will take off the tartness, or leave plain and then when you want to eat then add your sweetener of choice. It just gives you more options.
  • I prebake my bacon all the time. I just did 4 pounds this morning. Bake it on a sheet in the oven, but bake it so it not crispy, rather just to the point where it is cooked and you could eat it, but it's still a little soggy. Drain out the oil, and pat dry. Then I put it on the cookie sheets in a single layer, and freeze.…

  • Last year there was a little shortage in our area for the pumpkin spice latte. So we did our own at work, much cheaper, less calories, and healthier. You do have to adjust the recipe toro your own tastes. One cup strongly brewed coffee (espresso is better, but I don't have an espresso machine, so use my Keurig) 1 table…
  • Tons of things I make my own cream cheese like spread.... Take the Greek yogurt, strain it over a cheese cloth over night, squeeze out the liquid. It's like a cream cheese texture. Season with herbs, and spread it like cream cheese Veggie dip Just add your favourite hers, or you can add a salad seasoning mix, I put a…

  • Before I had my gallbladder out, I was told to keep my diet to under 25 g of fat today, and less than 7 or 8 grams of fats per meal if possible.
  • My spouse is on a very low sodium diet. Fresh meats, fish, and eggs are all good sources of protein. Make sure that you buy the fresh not the frozen, we learned that they inject salt water into the meat to preserve it better, and to increase the weight. For example, a frozen chicken beast 100g has about 250mg sodium…
  • Hello & Welcome... I am in Calgary too. Feel free to add me, and any one else. I've been at this a while, but can always use the friends.

  • I would find out why. Then based on the reason, I would determine how I would feel. Sure, the delivery of the message isn't the best approach, but what is the underlying reason for it?
  • I only counted before to make sure they were getting enough. Both my kids were/are really under weight, and were lower than the lowest percentile lines. We talk about about good choices. They get healthy food, and also some other not as healthy foods as treats. They get water, and milk, and the occasional real juice. We…
  • Food scale is the best way to learn about portions. I don't use mine often, but I do use it to help 'check in'. I am out alot when I am eating, so I have found other guides for portions. An ounce of something solid is about the size of a nine volt battery. Good to know for hard cheeses, meat, etc Deck cards or the palm of…
  • Don't worry too much, get back to our regular diet. I don't know what it's like where you are, but if you have to squeeze into the dress, you can do a couple of hot yoga sessions, hot body wrap, or infrared sauna. I have used them n the past, just so I could breath. It's short term.
  • Price used to be a big one - it just seemed so cheap for a meal Convinence - and it fast However, one thing I have realized, and this comes to restaurents too, is the perceived value. I am actually able to cook really good food that is healthy, and do it quickly, for low cost. The problem, is my time to do so, so when I…
  • You can use phyllo pastries for the egg roll wrapper. Take about 4/5 sheets, spary with olive oil or pam lightly. Cut the sheets to the size desired, fill with egg roll filling, and bake. If you want to cut out a few more calories, you can not spray the sheets between, and do a light spray on the outside only.
  • Born and raised here too!
  • Eat!!!!! It's two weeks in, in general it takes about 6-8 weeks to establish a good milk supply. You are tired, you have hormones going through, and are breastfeeding. If you are hungry, then eat. Once you get your routine and milk supply, then start to focus on your diet. One thing you could od, if you think it's doable…
  • As others have said, the buns are really doughy. Flour is amazingly very calorie dense. Also, if it is the barbeque pork, it is a higher fat content in the pork and they use honey or sweetner on the pork. Mostly the flour is the issue. I've make them from scratch before, and it doesn't surprise me at all any more, but I do…
  • I quit years almost 9 years ago old turkey and it was one of hardest things I have done. One thing that really helped because wanted to eat, was to cut up straws the same length as cigarettes. I found ou that the act of large inhales on the straw and the feeling in my hands were part of the craving in addition to the smoke…
  • Mmmmmmmm. Chowder... That does sound awesome
  • I am so jealous. We love halibut, but don't have it often because it can be almost $20 a lb. It's a really hearty fish, so it can take on lots of flavor. I like a really light dredge of flour, lemon pepper, lime rind, garlic, salt and pepper, and then dry fry it, or in a pan with a spray of oil. Bake it with slices of…
  • The last time I was this weight, I was a size 8. I've had two kids since then, and am a lot less muscular than before, in addition, I carry alot of my weight at my middle, not so much on my top.
  • It would really depend on a lot of things. The different shapes of people and where they wear their weight is one factor. Also, the clothing brand the all fit differently. I was trying some not stretch clothing and I could still fit a 16 a little losely, I had another item that is a 10. Also, jr's are sized different, and…

  • I lost 2 pounds when I was at Disneyland. I found there to be actually more choices at Disney World. We stayed off site, so I can't talk about a meal plan, that will be a game changer. Essentially, I always pack food with me and supplies. If we don't have access to a vehicle when we get off the plane, I have actually put…
