  • As a group fitness instructor it absolutely killed me to wait 6 weeks to be cleared to work out again! Plus the 2 weeks before my daughter was born that I didn't teach because I was terrified of going into labor while teaching :) With that said, I began walking around 2 weeks. Then doing small things at home around 3 times…
  • Likely it's not listed because Zumba is very particular about the usage of their name being that its a registered trademark. I wear a heart rate monitor to class so I know that I burn typically between 700-800 calories when I teach classes. Under your exercises you can "Create New Exercise" and that will allow you to…

  • I would say go for it if it is something you are passionate about. I am a group fitness instructor and while I'm in shape, I have some extra weight still left to lose. I have had several people tell me they like that I look average...it's less intimidating and encouraging to them that they can do it too.
  • A lot of classes form a sense of community...I always made friends as a participant and now as an instructor I make a point to encourage community in my classes. You will make friends who will encourage you along the way! Go for it!!
  • There are a multitude of things wrong with the weights on a treadmill concept. Firstly, it's dangerous. Secondly, it's also unlikely you are receiving any toning benefit. If you want cardio...try intervals. If you want weights...do weights separately. Injuries come easily from an overly repetitive movement for an extended…
  • I think its a great program if you are starting off and learning how to eat appropriate portions. What I found though with WW being based on points is that I directed most of my focus to points and not necessarily making better eating choices. When I use a program such as MFP, I'm much more conscious of what I'm eating and…
  • Yes...he has mentioned that he gets so tired of taking sandwiches but knows that he is limited in what he can take.
  • I find Turkey Burgers to be pretty dry. Since it is an extremely lean meat I will often add an egg and bread crumbs to the mix and try up some new flavors without adding too many extra calories Ranch Seasoning Mix Onion Soup Mix Italian Seasoning Also I will sometimes throw in reduced fat cheeses, center cut bacon, etc to…
  • Like the PP mentioned I would suggest investing in a heart rate monitor to know exactly. Out of classes that I have attended, I have ranged anywhere from 600-1000. I am also an instructor and my classes typically are around 850 for me. I have had a Polar F7 HRM for about 4 years now and I have been super pleased with it.
