If I were you, I would eat more often, smaller meals. I wouldn't mix too much meat and starches (like the potatoes). I always eat meat with just veggies, and have the starches or complex carbs (nothing white, except occasionally potatoes) separately after an hour or two as a snack. ((Example: I eat breakfast: oatmeal;…

What are you eating for those 1270 calories? What is your workout routine? How overweight are you? I have a ton of questions before I can give any advice. I lost my first 60 pounds eating 1350-1400 calories a day and working out for an hour 6 days a week. I lost the last 50 pounds eating 1200-1300 calories a day and…

Not sure. I'm around your height and your weight, and I'm losing. I eat 1250-1400 calories per day and work out 6 days a week. I eat healthy: tons of veggies, fruit, a little protein, and whole grains. I eat about 5-6 times a day, snacking constantly. When you eat lots of healthy food, you can have a large quantity of food…

I want to lose all mine by my birthday, August 19.

I always get, "what's your secret" too! There is no secret people. We eat healthy AND exercise daily. It is pretty simple. What is disturbing is that I have an obese co-worker who tries to avoid me now. She will barely talk to me, and hides from me. We used to get along just fine. I'm not sure why I have to make an effort…

I don't understand what the problem is with restricted calories. If you eat fresh fruits and vegetables and lean protein, you can eat a ton of food for 1200-1400 calories. If you eat snack chips and junk food, you will barely eat at all. Research has also proven that restricted calories and exercise together reduces the…

I should say not for weight loss. For muscle gain or maintenance, maybe. But definitely not for weight loss if you are obese.

You also didn't start out obese. There is strong evidence that metabolisms are different. I tried starting out with 1600 calories and never lost a pound at 230 pounds. I dropped it to around 1200-1400 and started losing weight. You were already 130 pounds, 100 pounds lighter than me.

I'm not trying to argue with you, but no fitness trainer, my mom used to be one, or nutritionist would put you on 2000 calories if a fitness program assigned had you burning 500 a day.

If it's miserable for you then don't do it. I eat healthy foods: turkey burgers, salad, veggies, fruit, beans, etc. I don't eat too many carbs, about 200-300 mg daily. So I eat all day long at 1200-1350 calories! I'm never hungry. I'm not sure I could eat much more than that. I think I am going to find it difficult to up…

I am perfectly healthy. I have great muscle tone and definition and am never lethargic. In fact, I have more energy than I have ever had. I eat whole foods, no processed junk foods. You want a lower net when you are dieting. My BMR is about 1000, and I have a low activity job, so it works for me. I guess people will do it…

I've lost a total of 108 pounds. At least 60-70 of those pounds were lost doing mainly cardio, daily. I didn't start adding serious muscle training in until I was a lot smaller. I am at a normal weight now, and I do cardio: plyo, HIIT, running and weight trainig: circuits, lifting, body weight resistance training. I think…

Those of you who have weight to lose, why do you eat your exercise calories? I have lost 108 pounds total, but I ate around 1200-1450 daily and burned about 600-1100 6 days a week. I tried to get a "net calorie count," calories in minus exercise, of around 500-800. I lost another pound this week. No it's not muscle. I have…
