  • I, too, have P90x...but am not yet fit enough to start them. I tried a couple of times when the first 15 minutes kicked my butt - then I was too sore to continue through the entire first week - even the first 15 minutes of each DVD.
  • We're all different so what might work for me, may not work for you. Currently I've shelved all of my videos but I know that I'll use them again so I'm keeping them. The best place to "try out" videos is: http://www.collagevideo.com/ I've had great service from Collage Videos.
  • 8 Weeks to Women’s Wellness is a great read on the subject of PCOS, inftertility and general wellness. "BHRT is a safe alternative treatment for hormone imbalances. BHRT is not just for menopausal women, but can be used to manage a variety of diseases including PMS, PCOS, Thyroid disease, Infertility, Fatigue, Depression,…
  • 46 YO here and I hear ya on the hormone thing.
  • What if everyone filing for a refund actually WORKED for the money instead? I bet in the end, the time spent on getting an $80 refund will result in less dollars per hour "earned" than working those same hours at a real job. If it was me, I'd just admit that I was "duped" by the advertising and try to ensure that I don't…
  • I recently read that your waist should be not more than 1/2 your height...so since I'm 63" tall, my waist should be no more than 31.5". I also read that, on average, for every 10lbs you lose you lose 1" off your waist. Again, this is only average.
  • First to go is around my waist; last to go is the girls.
  • I prefer the Yerba Prima brand of psyllium husks because I don't like things pre-sweetened.
  • I am one of those people that does better with LESS carbs and MORE protein. I also keep my cortisol in check with a saliva test through a company such as ZRT labs. Once I know my cortisol levels, it helps me to take action to reduce my stress levels.
  • These hot flashes are terrible...I've had them for 3.5 years (since I was 42). I've never tried soy, but I've tried everything else. The only thing that's helps is a dose of bio-identical estrogen used in conjunction with bio-identical progesterone. There is cancer in my family so I have to be careful. After 3.5 years they…

  • Bathroom Scale Metronome (only when I run) HR monitor (not all the time) Gymboss (not all the time) Ipod (not all the time) This website  If I use too many gadgets I get bogged down with entering the information with no time left for exercise. I'm also lucky enough to have a treadmill, free weights, a Parabody, an…
  • I FINALLY got the girls under control with a "Moving Comfort / Juno" bra. I have invested in three of them and while they are not cheap (around $50-$55 ea) they are SO WORTH IT!

  • It would depend on how you are using that kettlebell, not just on the weight of the kettlebell.

  • I haven't found an MD that tests for hormone levels, but Naturopaths do. Some states license Naturopaths so be sure to read up on why you might want to choose a licensed one. I had mine tested through ZRT labs...health insurance doesn't cover the tests. If you choose the $200 test, you get your cortisol tested 4 times in…
  • My approach is to log food eaten, cardio and weight training. While the weight training doesn't log calories burned, I just call those burned calories "bonus". In other words, if I live within my calorie means and I show the calories burned in the cardio section, any calories burned above and beyond that are a "bonus"…
  • I agree that I doubt all clothing is the same size. My old boss used to buy upper end clothing because she could buy sizes 6-8 and in the lower end clothing she had to buy sizes 10-12. A label is just a label and are not necessarily equal between manufacturers.
  • Good job on the jogging..you'll get quicker in less time than you think (just don't be afraid to push yourself a little). As for doing some weight lifting, I found the book "The Women's Health Big Book of Exercises" (www.amazon.com) both affordable and full fo great ideas and tips. Finally - as for the 4# in 4 months -…
