  • Water weight. When you exercise, you lose water through sweat, so your body retains more afterwards. You also retain water to help your muscles recover after exercise. When you don't exercise, you don't hold onto the extra water weight.
  • You're not terribly overweight, and losing 3lbs in 4 weeks is probably more than you should be losing. Your net should be higher than 1200.
  • Considering you're netting 0 calories on some days, I would up it by more than 150 every two weeks. It sounds like you're malnourished... maybe anemic? At the very least, start taking a vitamin. At the most, up your calories faster, maybe 150/week instead of 150 every 2 weeks.
  • There was an interview on Fresh Air today about Lyme: http://www.npr.org/programs/fresh-air/ (the audio isn't posted yet but it should be by tomorrow), I heard a few snippets about making dietary changes and having it help the lyme. I don't remember specifically, so I don't want to guess and get it wrong, but you should…
  • You can't spot reduce, or target stomach fat. "Tummy exercises" won't do much. The only way to have a flat stomach is to lose the fat... since many women store fat in their bellies, often it is the last place to get flat. So, reasonable calorie deficit is your best bet. Flat stomachs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.
  • Taking rests between sets is important to building muscle, and having more muscle generally helps you burn more fat. The act of weight lifting itself doesn't burn as many calories as, say, sprinting down a treadmill, but the overall outcome will be fat loss.
  • If you counted the whole amount last night, change last night to whatever % you drank then, and today for whatever % you drank today. I mean technically the body's metabolism isn't on a strict 24-hour schedule, so if you're feeling lazy you can just leave it as is, but being specific and accurate in your counting is an…
  • Waaay too drastic. What does MFP recommend when you put your info in? How much do you weigh?
  • Not to scare you, but yes, it will hurt. But they will give you happy, happy drugs. Take the drugs ONLY as the doctor prescribes them (ie, don't take extra), and you'll be fine.
  • Your current diet and exercise is NOT conducive to losing weight. You're eating too little for your activity level and weight (especially for a teenager, in case anyone's wondering she's lying about being 18).
  • If you feed the raspberry keytones to the tapeworms and THEN take the tapeworms, you get double the bang for your buck. But you have to make sure the tapeworms are eating back their exercise calories. Takes a lot of effort for a tapeworm to wriggle around inside you. Don't want them going into TSM (tapeworm starvation…
  • Hmmm.... Have to sign up just to take a quiz... promoted by "Dr." Oz.... I think I'll pass. :P

  • I run short distances twice a week (once for kicks, once to work on speed) and one long, slow run. But I lift weights on my off days (technically, I run on my off-days from lifting, but you get my drift. :P) If your goal is to run a marathon, check this site out:…
  • Based on your pic and the fact that you only have 5lbs to lose, 1440 is probably way too low for you. The less you have to lose, the harder it is.
  • Nothing. IF for me!
  • I'm 5'10" with a large frame (wide hips, broad shoulders). I know I actually have a large frame because at my smallest I weighed 105 (that's a BMI of 15.1, which is pretty far in the "underweight" category) so I know exactly how big my skeleton is. :P At that weight I was still a size 6 because of the size of my hips and…

  • If it's boredom, when you're about to grab a snack have a glass of water then go brush your teeth. Most snacks do not taste good on freshly brushed teeth. :P Then find something else to help with the boredom, and hopefully by the time the mint taste goes away you won't want snacks anymore.
  • Well, since you weigh all your food I'm going to assume that your calories consumed are accurate. Is it possible that your calories burned aren't accurate? Some of them seem really high. Could you describe your workouts in more detail? It could be you're not burning as much as you think you are.

  • Problem 1: It's from Fox News. Problem 2: They cite zero scientific studies to back up their claims. Problem 3: They're trying to sell a product. Conclusion: Ridiculousness.
  • I looked up generic pico de gallo and it has very low calories per serving, so I'd just go with the 987 if I were you (the ones I saw were in the 30-50 calorie range).
  • Your sodium is a bit high, and your protein is a bit low. Other than that it's looking good - if you start to plateau, try upping your calories by 100-200, but if you're losing for now you're probably fine.
  • On the one hand, it's only been a week, there are tons of reasons you could be stalling. You could give it more time (2-3 more weeks) and see if it sorts itself out on its own. On the other hand, it looks like you're halfway to your goal, and have less than 25lbs to lose. You could try upping your calories (netting…

  • Looks like it's 20 minutes of moderate to high intensity cardio, which is always a good thing, as long as you realize that it wasn't just the exercises that got her into that shape. Still gotta eat well. :P

  • I know this is only anecdotal evidence, so take it with a grain of salt. When my sister got her second cat she had the same problem. She got one of these things you plug into an outlet (like a room freshener, lol!) that has cat pheromones or something, and she claims it worked great.
  • I do, only because I'm anemic (so I need the extra iron) and B vitamins are decent for my sleep issues.
  • Netting 700 is unhealthy, especially if you're breastfeeding. The 5lbs in 5 days thing was probably water weight. According to your profile you have less than 10lbs to lose? If so, go into your settings and stick yourself at 0.5lbs/week to lose, and net what it tells you to net. You have very little to lose and you're…
  • So if I already don't eat peanuts, soy, or corn, does that mean I will lose 3 lbs in 1 week? :P If you're reading a diet plan that has the word "celebrity" anywhere in it, you can pretty much assume it's bad. Most of the foods listed there are great for you. And believe me, if I cut all 7 of those things but eat 4000…
