  • I usually roast mine in the oven (with garlic, oo, s&p, basil leaves) and then blend it for tomato sauce. Then I freeze it into ice cube portions for easy grabbing during dinners.
  • Welcome! Feel free to add me as well :)
  • Yep... just get back into your routine and try try again. It's certainly not a smooth journey but that's kinda just how it is... motivation wanes so you need to stay focused on the 'why' to help you keep going during those tough days/weeks/months. Sometimes switching up your routine helps keep things fresh and interesting.
  • I roast my tomatoes in the oven, skin on, and then blend it all down to my desired smoothness once cooled. Skins aren't even noticeable and we use this for our pizza & pasta sauces.
  • I can't do cheat days.. it's a trigger for me to just completely let go. At least I don't label any days as cheat days. I just do what I do and try my best to meet my calorie goals each day. If I bomb a day.. or two (usually over the weekend) then I keep track of it but move on and get back to my routine the next day. No…
  • Where do I start? I had high stress levels for years and I progressively got worse until I finally made some major life changes. I also have anxiety so stress would trigger that sometimes to the point of getting a panic attack. Lost hair, gained tons of weight, made very poor food choices trying to find quick pick-me-ups,…
  • Yes, totally. I used to be so bad because I would eat & drink so little during the day (busy, high-stress job) and by the time I was driving home I would be SO hangry that I'd more often than not hit up the drive-thru for dinner because I just needed to shove food in my face ASAP. Of course the food was low quality and can…
  • I went through the same phase as well, started eating high-quality foods and they filled me up so fast I was overwhelmed lol!! I just ate what I could and stopped when I was feeling full, if you're full then you're full! If I felt hungry again a little later in the day then I would just finish whatever I had leftover from…
  • Sent you a Friend Request / Feel free to add me :) I'm 5'2" and started my journey about a year ago now. I was focused on a high-stress career for many years and that really affected my overall health. I made the hard choice to resign two years ago. First year was just recovery...my body was so out of whack! Then not too…
  • Drinking my morning coffee, still trying to adjust to daylight savings (ugh..), browsing MFP, and thinking about what I'll have for breakfast today. <3
  • I used to feel like this often when I was at my heaviest and was starting to workout. I actually had to deny going to Zumba classes or any other sort of class with a gf of mine, who asked all the time, and avoided doing anything super intense because I'd get so overheated and would feel ill and get headaches. Sometimes it…
  • As some others mentioned, I find people do notice but it's kinda weird to make a comment because you don't want to insult the person in any way or make any assumptions so many just say nothing or make general comments like 'you're looking great!' or 'oh, i didn't recognize you at first'. I can tell by their facial reaction…
  • I found the Fitbit to be a great starting tool. Something to keep me focused and motivated. I don't use it much now after a couple years in, but it was definitely worth the investment imo because it helped me get a better sense of my activity level. Every now and then I'll dust it off just to check-in. I got mine on sale…
  • Yes, I've experienced the whoosh effect a few times during my weight loss this year. The first time I noticed looking leaner almost overnight, it was weird but then I figured it out via Google, lol! Love when it happens!
  • I like to add almonds, pumpkin & sunflower seeds, hemp hearts, sometimes a little chia seed, with some blueberries & strawberries. Raisins are good too if you need more sweetness.
  • I got myself one full-piece and one tankini type swimsuits, and then bought women's board shorts to put over my bottoms. If it's just me and the hubby I'll wear a bikini to tan, otherwise I usually do the go-to board shorts solution. They're easy to take off if you decide you're comfortable enough to ditch them for a while…
  • I'm thirsty and craving something delicious! I'll probably end up with a glass of water or tea :P
  • Making homemade pizza for dinner tonight! It's one of our favourites. I'm simple: pepperoni (has to be those small ones), green pepper, cheese. Hubby loves adding ground beef and a little bacon to his side. And of course the dipping sauce on the side is a must-have.
  • I also do the Music/Netflix thing. But I mainly just do a bunch of different stuff on it rather than just run... I don't actually like running, lol. Like doing intervals of walking/jogging/running, doing lunges on low speed, lifting 3-5lb weights while walking on low, switching up the incline randomly (with or without hand…
  • Maybe try smoothies? The texture might be more palatable and it would help get some nutrients in you. Edit: you might be eating too inconsistently? (might explain the intense cravings one day but not the other) maybe try getting something down, like the smoothie or almond milk ideas, at the same times each day and…
  • Lately I've been rotating between: green smoothies (loaded with hemp hearts, chia seeds, ground flax seed, vega protein powder, bee pollen), oatmeal (topped with almonds, raisins, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, hemp hearts, and berries), Greek yogurt (topped with almonds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, hemp hearts), or…
  • I can't offer much on the relationship side... But as for the weight loss, maybe try just focusing on your food for now, eventually you'll start to feel better after 'detoxing' so to speak, and you'll regain some energy to pull a long day with workouts. Im sure you move a lot all ready doing 13 hour shifts. For me anyways,…
  • Mine get loaded up: 1/2 banana, 1 cup spinach, 1/3 cup frozen mangos, 1/3 cup frozen berries (usually it's blueberry), 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt, and a single serving of each: chia seeds, ground flax seed, hemp hearts, bee pollen. Add unsweetened almond milk, water, ice cubes. Serves 2. Once you get yourself a base…
  • Exactly what I've been dealing with this past year. Added you!
