  • I love homemade bread (heck, I love bread period lol). We have a bread maker that honestly has never really been used because it never worked right. But I am in the same situation - when you compare the calories in breads, it is hard to justify making it at home. I know that is probably the wrong way to look at it but I…
  • I edit mine all the time. Open the app, hit "more", hit "edit food and exercises", hit "my recipes" and then just hit the one you want to edit. After you are done editing, just hit save.
  • I had mine out in November of last year and I have had such a hard time with weight loss since then. My diet was not awful to begin with before I had it out and it is not that much different now but it just seems that no matter what I do, I cannot seem to drop any weight.
  • NOT boy shorts! They will fall down (at least in my opinion they do). I know a lot of ladies I run with wear thongs :ohwell:
  • Friend request sent
  • I wish I had some advice to offer but I don't - not yet at least. I am running my first marathon on the 5th of May so I know how you are feeling. I did not start training for it until January/February of this year. I tried following a "plan" but I didn't like it so I trained my way. I just wanted to say good luck with your…
  • Here is my running play list: Till I Collapse - Eminem Fat Bottomed Girls - Queen Cruise - Florida Georgia Line Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard No More Tears - Ozzy Country Grammar - Nelly Oh! - Union Turnpike Trouble - Pink Something About a Truck - Kip Moore You Shook Me All Night Long - AC/DC Single Ladies - Beyonce
  • I have a Brittney spaniel and she is pretty good at running with me (or me running with her sometimes lol). A leash is so important. I cannot count how many people we pass that do not have their dog on a leash. I have a harness for her but she still pulls a lot. She is a hunting dog and from the humane society so we do not…
  • I don't listen to music at all when I run (unless it is on the dreadmill at the gym). It takes some getting used to but you can do it. Be aware of your surrounding at all times, too. Make eye contact with people that you pass. Be aware of traffic and make sure you are on the proper side of the road.
  • Wal-Mart and Target both have scales, as well.
  • Running in the cold takes some getting used to but I personally really enjoy it. Slow your pace down some; you can always speed up if you feel like you can but the cold air really zaps your energy fast so you don't want to go out too fast and cut your run short because you are too tired. Dress in layers. Gloves are a must…
  • I have been on for almost 3 years and I honestly do not see myself leaving. I love the support that I get from my friends.
  • I tried it a few years ago but I personally did not see any noticeable results from it. It is one of those things that may work for some but may not work for others. It is a pill and not necessarily a lifestyle change but at the same time, you do have to change your diet while you are taking it (unless of course you have…
  • Welcome :) I sent a request. If anybody else would like another friend, feel free to add me - I am on almost everyday and try to be as supportive as I can.
  • I personally have to wonder how much of that is just for show. We are only seeing a portion of what is really happening during their time there. When the cameras are rolling, everybody has a certain way they "act" so maybe that is hers.
  • Well, this may not be any help but a lot of the people that I know from running carry jelly beans with them on long runs. I personally cannot stand the idea of trying to eat anything while I run but I too know that I will have to get over it if I want to do a "long" run. I have done 3 halfs and carried nothing but Poweraid…
  • I have had to take a break from running for a while, but not by choice. I had surgery so I am going to have to ease back into it but I have noticed that I have a different appreciation for running now that I am not able to do it.
  • Well mine have shrunk quite a bit and I am totally okay with it
  • Hmmm - I drink skim milk, eat low fat cheese, and low fat yogurt and I have lost well over 100 pounds. Tell me why what I am doing is a bad thing because I'm just not seeing it
  • I was doing my studet teaching in a Head Start classroom in Barberton, OH. I will never forget one of the staff members coming in and telling us that the first plane hit and we had the radio in the class room on when the second one hit. I guess I used to think that my parents were nuts for being able to remember…
  • I can honestly say that I am never hungry after exercising. I run almost daily and it is all I can do to get my calories in sometimes because I am just simply not hungry. I would love to know why this is (but I am not complaining) lol
  • I know this is probably not the kind of answer that you are looking for but the way I look at it is like this; yes, I have fairly large leg muscles and my calves may resemble cows or buffalo now but I have legs that work and I thank God all the time that I can use them. My son has cerebral palsy and cannot use his legs at…
  • Chicken, turkey, and fish are all high in protein. Being on a budget does makes things difficult (I understand that lol) so if you can get things when they are on sale and freeze part of it, that helps a lot. Also try making meals that you can get more than one meal out of. For example, when I make baked chicken, I use…
  • I love it! I had a teacher in college that gave us a website about it...awful stuff
  • Congratulations :) Way to go!
  • Canal Fulton here! Anybody looking for another OH friend, feel free to add me
  • I personally do not eat any different before a long run vs a short run. I don't use gels or GU either during my runs either. If you are looking for suggestions, I'd say go for something with more protein in it. Fiber is good too but not if your body is not used to it (or you may find yourself running for a bathroom instead…
  • I'm sure it would probably be better than store bought frozen dinners - they are really high in sodium. In the fall and winter, we make soup and freeze it in individual portions. They thaw quickly in the refrigerator and taste really good too. My mother-in-law makes huge pans of lasagna and portions it out to freeze.
  • My moment was when, at 29, I was put on two medications for high blood pressure. I have never been one of the skinny girls but that was the final breaking point for me. Now, two years later, I am down to just one BP medication and that is only because my bottom number will not do down.
