My guess would be what you said...nutrition and exercise. I enjoy lifting weights to build muscle. and shape my body. I like to do a combination of progressively heavy lifting for strength and power, and high rep lighter weights for muscular endurance. I enjoy walking and some HIIT for cardio. That being said, you can't…

Did you make the cauliflower "tater" salad the same as you would make traditional potato salad? Can you share your recipe?

Oh my gosh! That looks AMAZING. Will definitely be trying this. Thanks for sharing!

My first week I lost 6.4 pounds. I started on 7/30/17 and yesterday I was down a total of 10.2 pounds. For the past couple of weeks, I have been slipping in and out of ketosis...not totally out I suppose, as my ketostix register trace amounts, but I keep fluctuating losing and gaining the same 3 pounds since then. I'm not…

What do you normally make? Personally, I bake a large salmon fillet with different sauces depending on my mood, and eat it over the course of a few days. Sometimes I coat it with chipotle mustard, sometimes I use an Asian-style sauce, etc. I love salmon, so I can eat it for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Steak medallions…

Today is my first day in this group and THIS kind of helpfulness is what I have been looking for. I'm a member of a few other groups and it's mostly crickets. Thank you OP for your question and thank you to all who have answered. You all have been a tremendous help!

My son just had a birthday and I wanted so badly to eat a cupcake, but I didn't. It was hard but once I put it out of my mind and reminded myself of my goals, I was ok...sort of. LOL. I guess there will always be temptation, and I don't plan on resisting everything forever, but I felt like it was too soon to be kicked out…

I don't know how long the initial period is. And the past two days, I have felt a little more hungry when I wake up in the morning and sometimes between meals.

My appetite has also decreased. I don't think I've hit my calorie goal of 1744 since starting keto on July 30th. Like you, I also worry about not getting enough calories and nutrition. I usually drink a cup of hot tea with coconut oil or coconut manna just to get in a couple hundred more. However, I have felt a little…

I must have been sleepy when I typed up my macros. Smh. I was just looking at it like, wait...that makes NOOO sense at all. My actual macro goals are: 65% fat (136g), 30% protein (109g), 5% carbs (22g).

Hi everyone! I'm new also. I started my keto journey on 7/30/17. I'm a little over 5 pounds down so far. I first tested "trace" for ketones on 8/1, low on 8/2, and moderate on 8/4. So far I am enjoying the journey. Nice to meet you all!

Hiya!

I walk several times a week and try to incorporate some type of interval: hills, sprints, hill sprints, walking backwards uphill, etc. I also lift heavy, although my lifting has been sporadic lately.

Hi everyone! My name is April. I found this group yesterday and joined immediately. In 2015, I had lost 60 of the 100+ pounds I needed to lose by eating a mostly mostly raw diet of veggies and fruits, as well as some lean protein or salmon . Unfortunately life got in the way with a full-time job, full-time school, and very…

You look INCREDIBLE!

Great progress! My main question for you is how has getting more physically fit affected your lupus? I don't have it but my cousin, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law do...not to mention someone reading this might and need an idea of what fitness can possibly do for it.
-
Wow! You're tall! ETA: Of course you can, but is your only goal to be a size XS again?
-
This is my progress so far. The before picture (left) was taken on 3/31/15 and I had lost about 25-30LBS. The after picture was taken on 6/21/16. I'm down roughly 60LBS. For the past 8 months, I've been gaining and losing the same 7LBS. I got lazy with my meal prep and logging, so it is now back to basics for me. I've…

Prince - Musicology tour. Great seats. Acoustic set. Classic hits. Brilliant.

I really think it was the exercise and caloric deficit that made her lose weight and inches...and rolls.
-
I use one of those cheap Velcro ab wraps when I do plyometrics ONLY because the up and down motion of my belly fat and skin without it is pretty painful. I'm looking forward to not using it when my roll shrinks a little more. :p
-
Congratulations! That's really awesome!
-
I say stick with the program. You can always do the other attempts later.
-
Thanks a bunch! Sounds like a plan! Maybe I'll start in mid-November and take advantage of all the extra holiday calories :p Until then, I'll work on consistency. Plus I'll be better able to determine a lifting schedule once I figure out my Fall class schedule.

Thanks for the feedback @JoRocka and you, too, @McCloud33 . I'm not all that new to lifting. I used to do a 5/3/1 program a couple years ago, but hurt my knee and also had a pinched nerve in my shoulder, so I had to stop. I started lifting regularly again back in November, and while some days were hit or miss with the…

@acmorris I'm on day 4 of the 16/8 cycle. The first three days were a breeze, but today did not go so well. I was about 2 hours out from my eating window when I got a bit queasy and light-headed and felt like I needed to put something in my stomach. I drank some water and tea, but they didn't help at all. I'm not sure if…

I'm here and keeping up with you, too! I've appreciated your documenting this and have enjoyed your videos and the ongoing discussion surrounding your challenge. I can see myself attempting this challenge sometime in the future. Question: It seems that the biggest challenge might be pushing through mentally...is…

@VioletRojo you beat me to it! OP, here's another one http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1120789/females-only-lifting-weight-training-results/p1

I've been having the same problem. I might just cut the eyes off of a couple of the older, larger bras and sew them onto the newer bras to see how that works.
-
Well done! The same thing is happening to me. The scale is slowwwwww to move, but the inches are melting away. Don't you just love lifting?
