I like a morning shake of mango, pineapple, and strawberry mixed fruit added to 1/2 to 1 cup of homemade kefir and a half a scoop of vanilla whey protein. It is really tasty, filling and packed full of naturally occuring probiotics.

I tried composting once. The compost bed stayed hot for about 6 months but then it cooled off and I never could get the mix right to heat it back up. I am hoping to start some worm composting soon. We had a presentation on that at one of our goat camp outs and it was so interesting. I need to purchase the worms soon. I…

As for suggestions I would just say that I have both sheep and goats. I enjoy the sheep but I love the goats. It all depends on what you want. A bottle fed doe who provides milk for your family becomes part of the family. She thinks of you as mom and enjoys every minute you spend with her regardless of weather you bring…

Update on Today's goals 1/4/12--I did keep close track of all the food I ate and remained under my calorie goal. I did get my groceries so there are plenty of really great food choices in the house but I did not get a walk in with my goat. It was raining by the time I got off work  I did get my exercise, just not the…

I just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Lori and I was raised in the Los Angeles area so never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would someday grow myself anything to eat. I now raise sheep and alpaca for the wool which I have successfully learned to process myself. I also raise dairy goats and…

This is a wonderful idea! I am a very goal type person so having a place to put things will give credibility to my goals and help me to keep them. Thanks all, Since today is gone, I'll post for tomorrow January 4 1. To record all my food choices accurately. 2. To get to the store to get more yummy veggies for the fridge.…

I know exactly how you feel. I think I was avoiding mirrors for the longest but a couple weeks ago I went shopping with a friend and she made me try on things and step out in front of the mirror and I almost could not contain my the shame I felt for my body and disappointment I felt for myself. I would also like to lose 50…
