Thank you so much for your comments and feedback. I really appreciate it. The weightlifting class was intense. I had moments of "wow, I'm so out of shape" and I had moments where I felt that I was struggling to keep up with the rest of the class. It blows my mind that I could burn 1,000 calories in 2 hours of working out.…

I bought an expensive ($100-$159) Tri suit for my first sprint and I loved it but honestly I don't get much use out of it unless I'm racing (which isn't all that often!!). I wouldn't suggest training in it in the pool as chlorine is super hard on clothing and I would rather save the suit for racing. Wear on race day what…

I'm doing the NYC Olympic distance Tri July 8th. I'm not ready. I swam this week and was not happy with my swim. I ran this week and was not happy with my run. I am happy in spin class and that's kind of all I have going for me right now. Does anyone want to share what has been working for them? What mantras are people…

I'm torn, right now its between 3 things : 1) Giving up cheese (I love me some cheese) 2) Making a commitment to working out or doing something active for all of lent 3) Making a promise to floss every night.

I agree with jacksonpt. You should get a bike trainer. You put your road bike on it and you use your actual road bike (what you would use in your race) to train.

Spin class is the best workout. Bring water and don't be afraid to go early, set up your bike before the class starts. Get used to adding and removing resistance on the bike. Don't go too hard in your first class. Ease into it and get comfortable on the bike in the 3 positions : seating (1), standing/running (2) and…

I'm committed to the New York City Triathlon on July 8, 2012. My first Olympic distance! Is it bad that I am already starting to hope it doesn't rain that day?

Hi Athletes!! Name : Julie Age : 34 Location : New York, NY I've done a Sprint Tri a few years ago. This summer I'm doing the Nautica NYC Olympic distance Tri on July 8, 2012. This may sound dorky, but for the past 3 years on this particular race day I would wake up super early and bike up to the swim start to watch the…

I bought little individual Xanthan Gum packets that were 1/2 tsp each. They are sold individually in cute little packets, the price was $0.69 each. I didn't want to buy the 1 lb Bob's Xanthan Gum ($15.99) because I didn't know if I would like the Fluff Stuff. Turns out my fluff is a bit off on the texture (I think it has…
