Beginning in January I will be working two 16 hour shifts a week. I am trying to figure out how to count my calories for those two days. I will spend about 5 to 6 hours sleeping between the two shifts. So out of a 24 hour period 16 hours will be worked. My shift starts at 3pm and ends at 7am. Since I am up around 10am or…

Went back and tweaked my menu for yesterday and had a total of 1870 calories yesterday. No exercise yesterday to offset that either. Guess I have to be brutally honest with myself on the calorie tracker in order to see accurate results.

WOW!!! Thanks so much for all of the great responses. For me, being able to post and read here has been the difference between success and failure. I can actually use something from every response. I did weigh this morning. My weight is up only 0.4 from last friday. That is a real relief for me. I am going to the store…

This is a little bit personal but please bear with me. I seem to have extreme trouble during the week before and during that certain time of the month. I am already bloated and feel like a beached whale, but I also have tremendous cravings and one huge appetite. I am without a doub going over my calories. I am not eating…

Here is a thought.... mabe one whole egg and 2 egg whites scrambled would be good.... I think I will try it. I always have them for breakfast but I add cheese to mine. Sounds like a good way to cut calories. Thanks for the idea!

during my endeavors with weight loss I have found it helpful to simply ignore unwanted or rude remarks or looks. But if people were congratulating or tasteful with their compliments I would thank them. It worked for me.

Count me in on that one too. I can see myself hurling something off my deck.... definetely! I am a confections addict too... sweets, cakes, pies, cookies. But I am also a lover of all food.. the more fattening the better. thats why I like this sight. It really doesnt restrict me I just have to count everything I eat.…

I decided to weigh every friday and this morning for my first week ( it is actually my 5th day) I am down 3 pounds. Probably would have been more but I was up late and snacked. :grumble: Any how, 3 lbs is 3 lbs.

It is ironic you would say that babysbaby. I did the same thing. Filled my house with healthy stuff. I got "into trouble" last night. Couldnt sleep. I am a night worker mostly so that happens when I am at home not working. The trouble with that is I want to graze all night. I am not hungry, just bored. Every one is asleep…

What a wonderful idea to only cook requests! That would cut down on "grazing" at my house!!

If it's not too much trouble I thought we could post under one topic.. that way we dont have to search around for the recipes. The idea was to have them all in one topic.

If you are only a social smoker who smokes on occasion then you are not addicted to cigarrettes. I was a heavy smoker and thank God I am now smoke free. I used to wake up in the middle of the night and smoke. I would wake up in the morning and my ciggs were right by my bed... I lit one as my feet hit the floor. I was very…

I am starting this topic with the upcoming holidays in mind. I have no idea what to cook or how to change any traditional recipes, so I thought we could put our ideas together. If you have any holiday recipes, sweet or not, please post them and share.

What a bummer! I went to the exercise database and walking with crutches is listed. just plug in your weight. At my weight of 158 walking with crutches would burn 90 calories in 15 minutes. I dont know if your able to walk on them or if you have a place that is safe and you wont break your neck trying to use them. But I…

This is a good thing. I dont think I could do without my chocolate. Pudding snacks are great cause the're chocolate and there is more to them than a small bite of chocolate bar. But when I need just a straight "shot" of chocolate there are also lots of sugar free goodies in the sf section at wal mart.

I have a Boston Terrier that my son and I went and picked out when she was just days old. My son saved his money and helped pay for her. Her name is MollyMay, hence my screen name. We dont actually call her mollymay... we call her molly. MollyMay is her registered name. My middle daughter alway calls every body by their…

perfect time of year for soup. Here in the south we cant wait for it to get cold... soup is a cozy feel good thing for us. some of us use okra (we call it okrie) and some dont. I leave it out of my soup cause my hubby doesnt like it. Ironically, I had my chicken and pork cooking for my first pot of the winter when I…

Sometimes I think we need a binge to get us motivated again. I know thats weird to say but if I binge it makes me really mad at myself and makes me more determined (at least for a little while). And, sometimes binges can be good. If you stall out it tricks your body back into losing when you straighten out your eating…

Here are a few important points about laxitive use. If you use laxitives they dehydrate you. They pull water into your colon to flush the colon out. That spells water loss not fat loss. It may help with fat loss later because your flushing all of the nutrients out as well. But why put yourself in a constant state of…

I dont think it is too soon to start a Christmas challenge. Mabe this will help give me some motivation and also help me not to be one of those "gained 10 pounds over the holidays" statistics. Anyone want to join me? I will weigh in the Fridayy before Christmas, which is the 21st. My goal by December 21 2007: 15 lbs.

Now there's a thought. What do I associate with sweets? Sort of like what I associated with smoking before I quit. I am bad about just "grazing" in general. I am going to try some baby carrots. I love crunchy stuff and they are good and will give my mouth something to do. OHHHH!! I love grapes!!

No time like the present, right? I am challenging myself to lose 2 lbs a week so 6 lbs by turkey day. I think its doable. mabe a challenge is what I need to give me a little motivation. Plus my brother is getting married the saturday after thanksgiving, so there is even more motivation. My goal: 152 by turkey day. Exercise…

marrywilldiet, I am soooo addicted to sweets and deserts falls right in there. Sometimes I would get cake and pie both at supper at the hospital because I couldnt decide which one I wanted. :noway: I plan to pick up some sugar free fudge pops that are 40 calories each. I hope that will go a long way to help my dessert…

Brand new here but guess I will chime in as well. Just started This website yesterday but actually I have not been to the store to pick up everything I need to really get started, but I have changed what I can so far. I have planned my meals for the day, which I will do in advance every day. That helps me. I am a neat…

Hi, I am a real yo-yo dieter. I absolutely love food and the more fattening the better. I am not tremendously overweight. I need to lose about 25 lbs. I am constantly in a cycle where I am either dieting or either I just dont care about my weight and eat what I want when I want. The diet part comes when I have gone for a…
