The wife and I have both done Insanity, I am week into Combat and my wife has done TurboFire. I love Combat in the same way the she loves TurboFire. The variety within each set just melts the time away. I hate the classic repetitive move for 60 seconds and switch to another repetitive move for 60 seconds, rinse and repeat.…

I have gotten that same line from my Doctor, I am regularly below 50. Where this also gets me is in calculating calorie burn with the HRM, I seem to recover VERY fast which drops my average heart rate quickly.

I cannot speak highly enough about Beachbody. Lost about 20 doing Insanity and then firmed up doing P90X. My wife has seen strikingly similar results from Chalean Extreme and Turbofire. I am now doing a Hybrid schedule of the 2 because once you get through Insanity, P90X's cardio is too easy. The one thing I will point out…

Check out Nike's Free line. My wife and I both cannot stop raving about the comfort and the disappearance of our foot/shin pain in doing P90X/Insanity/TurboFire.

If you are using a HRM....once you are done, take your Average HR and head over to http://www.triathlontrainingblog.com/calculators/calories-burned-calculator-based-on-average-heart-rate/ . You can calculate your Calories burned and then put TurboFire in as Cardio.

A couple of Beachbody slogans for you. Simple, yet effective Just.....Push....Play! Do you best and forget the rest.

+1 on the Heart Rate monitor, but I always cross check it against the average heart rate to calorie burned calculators online. I find my Timex grossly overestimates calories burned when I get over 500 calories. It is normal for me to be between 800-900 calories after PyloX (140 AVG HR), but my Timex will tell me…

Both, for completely different reasons. Small calorie intake (amount depends on how long before your workout) prior for proper energy levels during your workout. Protein rich after for muscle recovery.

I've already done a round and never got to the point of keeping up in Hot Foot. I end up switching every 15 seconds, my foot usually cramps.

@carlachristin I followed a schedule similar to this when I did my hybrid. http://www.decidetostayfit.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/p90x-insanity-hybrid.pdf Ultimately found it too difficult to maintain the Insanity pace once I was not doing it 6 days a week and retreated back to PyloX.

Just tried it for the first time, (Yea free 2 day shipping from Amazon), love it. Can't wait to put it in a protein shake. 150 less calories than Skippy, gotta love that!

I have run into similar plateaus in other set schedule routines. (most notably week 3 of Insanity) What I found was if I backed off on the intensity a bit but pushed through the week, I was able to recover and push forward. My suggestion with C25K is to back off the pace but keep going. If you are on a treadmill, slow your…

I can echo much of nukehiker's comments. HRM is key, get in your zone, stay there as long as possible and don't be scared to take breaks when you are over. I made it all the way through and lost 22 Lbs and at 6'1 220 to start was a great accomplishment for me considering I did truly watch my nutrition. Make sure you are…

I know a couple of trainers at different CrossFit gyms but frankly that lack of emphasis on proper form with heavy weight coupled with speed scares the cr@p out of me. Having spent time with certified trainers playing college sports, I have a great respect for how seriously hurt you can get during training. They are in…

I'm on week 2 of the Lean routine. I've done Insanity and parts of Chalean Extreme as supplementation when I needed a shorter workout due to time constraints. This is my second go 'round with with P90X after falling off the bandwagon in 2011. I struggle with push-ups, Chest and Back humbles me every time...hoping to build…
