  • Cool, proud, emotional.
  • Friday mornings. No real reason. I tend to eat more at weekends and exercise less. I usually weigh myself every 3 weeks or so; I tend to notice progress from how my clothes fit.
  • I agree with all the posts above. Try to figure out what would suit you best - time-wise, money-wise etc.. I walk a lot and use weights when working out at home. It's free. Do you want to go to a class, a gym, do exercise DVDs? Maybe have a look on YouTube and try a couple of different types of workouts? It's a very…
  • Thanks to whoever recommended Leslie to me! She's great, the workouts are easy to do and I'm now doing the 5-mile walk using weights. Thanks again and thanks Leslie!
  • My partner and I had our first date 5 years ago today - still together and going out for dinner tonight! AND THERE'S PIE??? :drinker:
  • Totally agree with this. I have breakfasts, soup and sandwiches, sunday roasts, quorn and quinoa meals, even gin and tonic saved. Counting calories and logging is quite hard to do if it's a new thing for you (it is for me) but you'll get used to it and learn shortcuts/substitutions/new ingredients/recipes that will help…
  • Good for you! You've done the work, now enjoy the results! :flowerforyou:
  • Thanks! I'm now doing Leslie's 5-mile advanced walk using 2lb weights and doing the regular 5-mile walk on the other days. Hopefully she'll release some Region 2 DVD's - her army of walkers is growing!
  • Heetabix with a sprinkle of sugar.......... yum!
  • Great post, thanks! I'll be having some Full Sail tonight, although it's the one made in Galway (ireland), not Oregon - had to google! Craft beer is great, happy weekend everyone!
  • Hi and thanks for that info! I'm definitely ready to rev it up!
  • Hi all I love Leslie's workouts, but can't buy them in Region 2 (Europe) DVD format so I follow two on Youtube - WATP parts 1 and 2, and the 5-mile walk, which I do 3-4 times a week. I enjoy doing them as I can do them when I want, wear what I want and am now using my weights for the first mile. My thyroid level has…
  • 3lbs. Didn't log very much in December so can't be too surprised about it. Am back on track now, though!
  • Hi Michele If 'cute cat you got there' was for my pic, thanks - it's Dyson, he's adopted me over the past few months. Your cat is gorgeous, do you have that pic on your fridge? He/she can see everything!! Hope you enjoyed the hockey party last night. My son left at midnight to make the long trip to Alaska so I might have a…
  • Hi there I lost 7 pounds in 8 weeks (March-April) doing the 5:2 plan. It takes lots of planning and no distractions! I did mine on Mondays and Thursdays but sometimes had to change them around. I stopped because I'd had enough and was happy with that weight loss. I'm now walking more and have lost another 2 pounds. I MAY…
  • Morning from Galway! Looks like another sunny day here.. Hi Michaela - when I'm not here, I'm watching FDJ on the Livestream kitten cam. I've been on MFP for over a year and am losing weight very slowly but steadily - I do a lot of walking. Have a good day everyone, hope it's fine wherever you are! :flowerforyou:
  • You're welcome, and thanks! I think MFP is great, I like the daily food diary and reading other people's stories, successful or otherwise. Getting a positive comment encourages me to keep going. We're all here on the same journey - some are sprinters and some are joggers. Some are stuck, some are going around in a circle…
  • Bravo Kitty Two stone is a huge loss. Well done to you! I lurked for almost a year, trying to do it on my own. I've been picking up tips, really learning about my food intake, eating a lot less bread and giving and receiving encouragement from my handful of MFP friends. I had the same experience with bathroom scales - the…
  • 5'3" , 138 pounds and US size 8/UK size 12 - getting down to the 6/10's though!
  • I lost a pound and it stayed off! A neighbour said she could notice a difference in my weight - I said that's what I was doing with the blinds pulled down in the morning (my dvd workout)!! Great job, everyone! :flowerforyou:
  • I agree - you look fantastic! I can definitely see the difference - I bet you're delighted. Well done!
  • Best of luck to you - it's a long journey with many learning curves, plateaus and pitfalls. Just keep going, be good to yourself and well done on the 10lb loss - that's a great result. Here's a link to the Hairy Dieters (BBC programme 'The Hairy Bikers' - they made low-cal recipes of favourite meals) -…
  • So sorry for your loss. The photo of beautiful Kiara made me laugh, though - she looks like a right character! I bet you'll miss her for a long time. :flowerforyou:
  • Well done on your decision; glad to hear your dad is there for you. I left my husband 23 years ago with an 8-month old baby and a suitcase - flew home the next day. Got the whole aggressive threats, kidnap threats etc so I spent time and money trying to protect my son. He never did anything. I was the strong one. Made it…
  • Hi Candy Sounds like you and your children are in a bad place. Let your children be your motivation and do what you can, talk to trained professionals, doctors etc and try to get to a safe place. If you have family who will help, please phone them and ask for help. The 10 pounds are the least of your worries. I'm sorry…
  • Watch a Kitten Cam immediately and the pouting will go away! http://new.livestream.com/FosterKittenCam/Mythbusters There are others to watch, but these guys are so cute. Hopefully it will keep you going (and your housemates happy, esp as they are family) until it's time for you to move on and have your own place.…
  • Hi Heather Hello and welcome to MFP. I'm 49, have an underactive thyroid (not on medication) and slowly accepting that my body is changing. Well done on using Insanity, my shoulders and knees cracked a lot trying to do the 30 Day Shred. So I walk with Leslie Sansone and I'm trying the 5:2 plan for the past couple of…
  • It seems to be different for everyone. I'm 49, have an underactive thyroid (not on medication). In one year on MFP, I lost 5 pounds. In two months on the 5:2, I lost 7 pounds. I've started it again - usually on Mondays and Thursdays and I eat breakfast, a reasonable lunch and light dinner - pints of water, orange squash or…
  • Still thinking of you and poor Tortie. How's it going?
  • Agree. Keep trying 'til you find something you like. I hate drinking water but I have to do it! Good luck!
