  • I used to make an insanely good pudding with avocado, banana, almond milk, and chocolate protein powder all blended up. Otherwise, I usually eat avocado on toast (with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, and some lemon juice) for breakfast, or in salads and sandwiches.

  • Not a vegetarian anymore, but I only eat meat a few times a week and am trying to cut back. For vegetarian snack ideas/meals that are quick and easy, my go-to's are: Apple slices with almond butter Toast with almond butter and strawberries Chunks of frozen (no sugar added) mango as dessert Soft-boiled or poached eggs on…
  • Try budgetbytes.com - great recipe ideas and she always includes step-by-step photos. This is my favorite easy go to recipe of all time; literally just throw everything into the crockpot and that's that. http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/04/easy-crock-pot-chicken-and-black-bean.html
  • It's a pretty common meme, and probably one of the less rude comments I've seen on these forums. If you wanna see rude, go look for a thread where someone uses the phrase "clean eating."
  • I'm sorry, but that makes my blood boil, lol. Fruit is more nutritionally dense than soda or candy, so yes, it's "okay."
  • Very inspiring! Congrats on reaching your goal!
  • No, I mean people who don't chew someone out for posting a harmless thread. If you're so desperate to do that, i suggest you head over to reddit or youtube.
  • I'm 24, looking to lose about 20-25 more pounds. Feel free to add!
  • 1200 seems a little low - you could probably afford to eat a few hundred calories more; I eat 1600-2000 calories a day depending on exercise, and have been consistently losing weight (7 lbs in 5 weeks). As a guide, try eating 350-400 calories per meal, and allow yourself 200 calories for snacks in between. For recipes, I…
  • Sorry some people can be really abrasive on this site. If you're looking for a more positive community/support system with tips, exercises, meal plans, etc to get you back on track, I would highly suggest following fitgirlsguide on instagram, or checking out the blogilates site/instagram. I find they tend to be much more…
  • Maxi skirts or dresses! A necessity for summertime.
  • I see your point, but there are different levels of processing food. Frozen vegetables or canned beans (assuming they're not filled with a ton of salt/oil/sauce/etc) are different from say, an order of fries from mcdonalds. I know "clean eating" is a term of contention, but for me, that level of processing doesn't outweigh…
  • This has become one of my favorite go-to recipes; I make a bunch at once and then eat them throughout the week: http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2014/04/09/crispy-quinoa-patties/ This is another one of my favorites, super easy to make: http://www.skinnytaste.com/2014/04/easy-crock-pot-chicken-and-black-bean.html…
  • Try Pop Pilates - it's all on youtube, no gym or equipment necessary. You don't even need a yoga mat, I usually do the workouts on a thick towel. I swear by it, and they're great if you're busy since they're usually 5-10 minutes (but you'll be uncomfortable for those 5-10 minutes, lol). This is one of my favorite ab…
  • That's a lot of cals for an iced coffee! I make mine with a few drops of stevia, some vanilla extract, cinnamon, and half a cup of 2% milk, which is all about 70 calories. Be careful with almond milk; I find that it breaks apart in coffee, so stick to milk or heavy cream.
  • I like to cut them up into little matchsticks, drizzle with olive oil, a ton of taco seasoning, then bake them at for 30-40 minutes. The taco seasoning makes them spicy and unbelievably yummy.

  • See if this helps, the article makes a really good point about "restarting" your metabolism, even if it takes a little while: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/238282-700-calories-a-day-and-not-losing-redux?hl=700+calories
  • Yep, it gives me way more energy throughout the workout. I usually like to eat something light to "carb up" before a workout, plus a little bit of protein. Something like half a banana with a piece of string cheese, or fruit with cottage cheese.
  • Start slowly with something like walking. I was having a hard time getting motivated to work out too, so now I find a show I want to watch and watch it from the treadmill instead of from my couch. I get 4-5 miles a day doing this (watching the world cup now lol). When I don't even have the motivation to do that, I like to…
  • Trader joe's salted butterscotch caramel chocolate bites!
  • This recipe suggests baking them with cornstarch, and also once they're done baking, turn off the oven and crack it open. http://sallysbakingaddiction.com/2013/09/12/baked-sweet-potato-fries/ I've also had luck with slicing the potato as thinly as possible, then microwaving the hell out of it.
  • I'm pear shaped too, at my leanest, I still had a chunky butt/thighs, even though you could see my ribs and the bones in my chest lol. I've recently had more luck shaping up my thighs and butt by doing lots of squats and pilates. I always do pop pilates on youtube, or you can check out the site blogilates.com, where there…
  • I love trader joe's frozen foods, but I try not to eat them every night since they're high in sodium. but they're pretty tasty! I get their veggie or chicken gyoza, and they have a special gyoza dipping sauce. Their garden vegetable lasagna is amazing as well.
  • banana and peanut butter for my chocolate protein shakes. sooooo good. I also make shakes with vanilla greek yogurt and frozen mangoes and raspberries, and it tastes amazing!
  • yummm I'll be making this for lunch tomorrow!
  • I've used both and like the fitbit better, honestly. The HRM is good because it can measure a larger range of activity (the fitbit won't take bike riding into account, for example), but I've been losing weight by getting to my 10k steps per day, thanks to the fitbit's motivation.
  • Pop pilates! The workouts are short, but I've found that when I do them consistently, I see results pretty quickly . here are some of my faves: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jygOeqLCgB8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYA_tmos1-4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhTxFOVAZtg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-ldgC-MzqA…
  • mmm I need to try this
  • I love to make mango and banana smoothies with almond milk! It always satisfies my sweet tooth. I also do almond butter on toast drizzled with honey, or topped with sliced banana. You could also consider making banana ice cream, or freezing a banana, then throwing it into a food processor. It seriously looks and tastes…
  • I was having a pretty similar problem - two years ago I lost 30 pounds by sticking to MFP and exercising regularly, then I gained back all the weight, and when I finally got back on track, I started gaining weight at first and it was driving me crazy! I upped my calorie limit and am eating based on my TDEE (with a 500…
