Ew.

Fajita (leftovers from dinner last night).

Nope. I was over 200lb at one point, and still confident. Apparently confidence got me a lot of attention. Now I'm practically married, so that may have more to do with the lack of attention than anything.

"I think it takes more than a week to gain a measurable amount of muscle." ^^ THIS

Great attitude!

I think everyone's different. If it helps you to have one higher calorie day a week, go for it. I *personally* think this idea is fine. It all balances out over the week, anyway. I probably wouldn't eat 4,000 extra calories in one day just because I can't imagine being that hungry, but eating 2,000 calories instead of…

Love this. I'm in.

Add me if you like. I'm 28. Currently 190, looking to get to at least 150 (will re-evaluate then). I've been on MFP seriously for a couple weeks now, but I've had an account for a year.

Thank you for this!! I made these last night and they are freakin' delicious.
-
I totally agree with this.

No. I can gain up to 8 lb during that time. It's not real, so I don't count it.
-
I'm going out tonight, but this week so far I've made bbq pulled pork (crockpot), turkey meatballs, potato & egg salad and broiled salmon fillets.
-
Thanks, all. I think I'm going to count it as regular yoga for now.

I'm 28! I blame my own laziness for gaining weight. I'm back on track right now, logging daily, and exercising regularly again. I'm signed up for a 10K run in May. Feel free to add me :)
-
I just started too. It's good to know I'm not alone. There seem to be many success stories here!

What a great post!

Welcome! Great job thus far. You can add me if you like :)

Amazing sandwich: deli-roasted beef and x-lean chicken, gruyère cheese, grainy dijon mustard, garlic dill pickle, on dark rye bread.

I'm in Ottawa now! Grew up in midwestern ON.

Yes! This sounds like me. My current goals are: - train for 10K - train for stair climb (even though I'm not really going to do one) I'm also trying hot yoga for the first time this week!

You can add me if you like.

Great job so far! I'm 28, starting this whole weight loss thing again for the bazillionth time. I'm currently 189(.7 this morning), hoping to get to 150, then re-evaluate. I've been as low as 163, and stupidly gained a crapload of weight back. Anyway, welcome!

I did it in 2008 and was quite successful, losing 50 lb. Then I got complacent. Learn from my mistake. Don't get complacent. I find counting calories a lot easier than points (easier to understand), which is why I'm now on MFP. PLus, it's free. WW is expensive.

I'm confused by all this as well. I have no idea what I'm doing. Experimenting, I guess, until I figure out what works. Good luck to you!

Welcome, and fantastic goal!

While I doubt I'll ever wear a bikini, I fully support your efforts! I would like to feel better about my body by this summer. I'm in a wedding in June and refuse to be the "fat bridesmaid."

My suggestions: - find a running program that starts off slowly (like C25K) - join a running group for motivation Definitely get new shoes before you start. Get fitted properly at a running store.

If I was just starting to get sick, heck yes I would exercise. Anything to minimize the effects. I go by the "sweat it out, spice it out, steam it out" philosophy. Basically, exercise, eat spicy food (curry), have a hot (steamy) shower or bath. Lather, rinse, repeat, until better.

Mash it up, add citrus (lemon or lime juice), some cilantro, and serve with a grilled or broiled salmon fillet.

I run outside at night. Well, not this week, since it's -30 and that's way beyond my comfort zone. But in normal conditions, yes. I stick to busy(ish) streets. There are a lot of evening runners in my town so I'm never alone.
