  • You're obviously not a failure if you have lost 33 lbs! Don't deprive yourself and the cravings won't be so uncontrollable. If you want a pancake, eat one, count the calories, and move on. Forgive yourself when you feel you have gone off track and get right back on. And by the way... everyone needs carbs!!
  • I have had the same problem over the years. What I finally realized is that it's not about how bad I want it, it's about whether or not I believe I deserve it and I finally believe I do and you do too! You can do it!
  • I have that problem too but when I increase my daily calorie intake, it is much easier to resist temptation. When I tried sticking to 1200 cals I was having a hard time resisting so I eat at least 1600 per day. It helps.
  • I, personally usually eat 5-6 times per day. Each "meal" might consist of anywhere from 150 to 600 calories. For me who has a tendency to binge, this helps prevent me from getting super hunger at any time and giving in to a binge. I also feel like it keeps my blood sugar more level throughout the day which keeps my energy…
  • Does anyone know what the reason is that we're supposed to take it off for an hour? I take mine off when I shower and that's about it.
  • Thanks for the motivation!! I read your post and even though it's only about 20 degrees out here in Vermont, I put on my sneakers, bundled up and went for a jog. I jogged to the end of my road which is a mile and a new record for me and walked back! So glad I didn't just sit here reading the message boards because now I…
  • From everything I have read and what has worked for me and others, I would say you should eat more. You said you eat a max of 1200 calories per day- does that mean sometimes you eat less? You could be slowing your metabolism causing your body to work harder at holding on to everything it can. Good luck!
  • I know what you mean! We have so much food in our office and gatherings around food it's ridiculous and can really send me into a tailspin if I give in to temptation. It's very frustrating. The most important thing for me is to make sure I have healthy options with me and if I do choose to indulge not to beat myself up…
  • I do this too but I call it self-sabatoge. Every time I'm doing well, I feel that loss of control. It's almost like way down deep inside I don't believe I deserve to lose the weight. I'm working on trying to figure out why. It's the only thing in my life I have not been successful at and it's very frustrating. Often after…
  • I am right there with you! Full time work and having to pick my son up from work to bring him home then not wanting to drive the 20 minutes back to the gym. If I could go to the gym right after work without driving him home first then it would work perfectly because the gym is less than a mile from my office. Can't wait…
  • Eggs and Spinach are my favorite breakfast! Use 1/2 Tbsp olive oil or butter to coat the pan. Toss in a handful of fresh baby spinach and cook for about 3-4 min. Beat 2 eggs and pour over spinach. Let this cook as omlette or scrambled. 212 calories!! EAT & ENJOY!
  • I completely agree with your weight loss philosophy!
  • I am new here as well. I am recently 40 and feel like I'm running out of time to get fit and healthy! I am 5'3" and weigh approx 235. (I haven't actually gotten on a scale recently) Over the last two years, I lost 25 pounds and gained it back, then lost 15 and gained it back plus a few extra. I have struggled with my…
