  • Yes! I remember it well. It does make one feel better about their self, even if it only a word.
  • Smackadoodle, you must be skin & bones!!! I'm down to 171 from 172.8 last week - not sure how, didn't have a really good week and was hoping to maintain, but
  • Weighed myself last week on a different scale showing a loss , back to old scale this week for a gain , but a loss from 2 weeks ago:laugh:. Oct SW: 173.6 CW: 172.8 (Oct 17)
  • Same here on the beer. I did switch to Michelob Ultra. It seems I do better with a beer or three.
  • Gained .7 last week. Vacation starts Saturday. Looking bleak for the next couple weeks. I'll just try my best to not overdo it. Oct SW: 173.7 Goal: Maintain??? (A lot of holiday season before the end of the year)
  • Moved to Oct topic.
  • I'm glad you decided to get back on track
  • It's worked out great for me

  • You've done great so far. You can add me if you want.
  • I found MFP the most important part for me. You just need to be diligent in logging EVERYTHING you eat and try to stick to your goals.
  • Pizza, beer, snickers, kit kats, butterfingers, pastries/donuts. All except pastries/donuts are still in play, I just keep them in moderation to stay under my goals. Pastries/donuts only on special occasions.
  • I need to correct my last post (senior moment???), no edit option today: 3.9 this week - did nothing special just normal diet & exercise: SW 28 Aug - 175.7 VW 7 Sep - 177.9 CW 19 Sep - 172.5 Weight gain Aug 29 - Sep 6 on vacation about 2.2
  • 4.9 this week - did nothing special just normal diet & exercise: SW 28 Aug - 176.4 CW 19 Sep - 172.5 Weight gain Aug 29 - Sep 6 on vacation about 1.5
  • Several things for me that change daily (some not very good according to the OP): Healthy Choice frozen yogurt bars (100 cal), mini-sized Kit Kats and Butterfingers for my chocolat fix (45-70 cal each), peanut butter w/whole wheat Ritz, oranges, bananas, Activia, and a few Starlight mints/Werther's coffee hard candies…
  • First time out last night since last spring and was a little worried. Fortunately, it seemed natural to me and was able to get close to my closing avg (182, 185, 180 - pretty consistent!). I am 20-30 lbs lighter, don't know if that had anything to do with it.. It wasn't long ago that bowling felt unnatural so I struggled…
  • I started bowling in Jr high and have usually been in a league most of the 50-odd years since then except for my college years. I've averaged as high as mid-190s and am currently trying to be near 180. I enjoy the nights out with the guys, but also have enjoyed mixed leagues with my wife until she decided to stop.…
  • I've been on vacation and missed the beginning of the challenge, I will start with my weigh-in on Thursday, which is 2.4 lbs more than when I started my vacation (so hopefully the 3 shouldn't be a problem). I will weigh-in tomorrow morning (Wed has been my normal day) and get in sync with everyone else next week.
  • My name gives it away. Go Manning!!!!
  • I've taken Alli since January. I have not experienced any really bad TEs even when I've eaten high fatty foods. I've read that the newer versions (last year or so) of Alli do not work like the previous version, but I don't know anything about that. I do know that MFP has helped me greatly to make me aware of what I am…
  • You're right about discussions being quiet and mostly negative when looking at other threads about Alli. I bought a refill bottle of Alli last January from Costco. I then read the brochure that came with it and found that the main thing is to change your eating habits and exercise. When it indicated that I needed to log…

  • If you don't like the texture of oatmeal just add more water/skim milk. At work I have instant plain oatmeal add some non-dairy creamer and artificial sweetner with plenty of water and drink it down. When at home, I'll have egg beaters w/low fat meat (I like turkey Spam) and a little cheese wrapped in a whole wheat…
  • I try to stick to grilled chicken and light beer when going out on weekends. Substitute cottage cheese for the side dish or get more veggies. I either skip the salad or make sure there is no regular salad dressing on my salad (dressing is a diet killer). As others indicate get a box or just leave 1/2 your meal uneaten…
  • 62 and counting here. 40 seems a long time ago for me, but I decided to lose weight back in January. I just wanted to lose about 1 lb/week so I've been on a 1500 calorie/day regime since then with about 300 added for my exercising (mainly walking, riding an exercise bike & golfing). I'm assuming you've been told 1200 since…
  • I'm surprised that there are no responses to your question. I'm not sure if this helps, but here is what I've been doing. I am currently on my own since my wife is not eating the same as me. I have changed by eating lifestyle since January and found that I'm happy with a few core foods. I eat a lot of chicken breasts…
  • handheld calculators were a big deal
  • Another friend to add
  • Can't improve on the compliments you have already received, but I totally agree with all of them!!!!!
  • I'm willing to try to be a good friend.
  • I started the beginning of the year and feel this site has helped me a great deal. When you log everything that goes in your mouth, it is eye opening. Feel free to add me.
