Great idea!! :drinker:

I would probably try the single fish or chicken taco. Steer clear of fried tortillas (flauta, hard taco etc) and avoid the extra guac or sour cream. Have fun!!

I think they are really helpful in the beginning. Eventually you will be able to eye things pretty accurately.

Every week is different.... You will need a copy of the workout plan that goes with it!

Skinny Cow Truffle Bars....100 calories and delicious!

I track everything. Otherwise, it is self-defeating for me. My goal with MFP is to learn to make healthier food choices and do better with portion control. Tracking sodium is also so important for weight loss that I include seasonings as well.

I think it's a personal choice... But for me, I try not to have the mind-set of a "diet". Atkins or any other! I want to eat now the way I will eat forever, which is healthy and lean. I will make bad choices here or there, but my goal is for a healthy lifestyle and not a temporary diet that will never last.

How about baked potatoes? That way you can keep it healthy with limited toppings and guests can pile on the sour cream and butter. And don't forget the salad.

I share your frustration. The pool where I do laps is closed till the 13th. Why not look for the closest rec center that has a pool and try swimming laps?

I eat a lot of baked chicken breast with roasted veggies. You can also substitute 99% fat free ground turkey instead of ground beef. (burgers, chili, etc)

I love avocado too. Dice it up on a salad with craisins and goat cheese. Mmmmm.... I also love sandwiches with sliced avacado layered on some spicy hummus.

You would be surprised, but you do adjust to that amount of calories. Remember to drink LOTS of water and fill up on fruits and veggies and whole grain foods. Don't forget your lean protein either. It isn't always easy, but the results make it worth it. Good luck!

I used to LOVE regular Coke or Dr. Pepper. Then I switched to diet as a way to wean myself off of it. It worked. I never really liked the diet taste.... I still miss Coke though, but it's gotten so much easier. I say if you can do without it, then of course it's better for you. Good luck!

Hey Weaklink- Are your profile pics Shih Tzu's? They are adorable! I have a Shih Tzu too and he's my bud.

I had to jump in and say hi to all the Washingtonians and welcome Kristi. I'm also from Washington. I'm in the Thurston County area. I wanted to second the dvd's as well as just recommend getting outside and walking/jogging. (While the weather is still good anyway...) It's always hard to start something new and even harder…

It could be lots of things. But without knowing what's in your food diary it is hard to say. How much water have you been drinking? Is it close to your TOTM? Our weight really does fluctuate through out the day. Stick with it! Drink LOTS of water, make healthy food choices and you will see progress. It just isn't as fast…

I second the idea of making healthy meals that you both can share. Just because he is "thin" doesn't mean he should eat unhealthy foods! If you are doing the cooking, then make some meals that include lean meats and lots of veggies. If he wants a carb, make some brown rice or potato.

When I am short on time I like to put a large bag of frozen turkey meatballs in the crockpot with a big jar of spaghetti sauce. Good for meatball sandwiches. Or you can use the Lawry's Hawaiian marinade to cook the meatballs in the crockpot, which is awesome with rice.

LOVED this recipe... it's a keeper. Thanks!

That is amazing!!! I guess that is a total endorsement for p90x! My husband and I are thinking of getting it. Do you happen to know.... do you need just the dvd's or are there additional things you need to purchase for the program?

Welcome and best of luck to you!

Hello and welcome! You will find lots of support here. And it's not fancy, but what MFP offers works. Track ALL of your food, stay under the calorie requirements and exercise. It will teach you a sustainable way to eat for life. Good luck to ya!!

I am definitely in the minority. But it's been about a month and I haven't weighed myself yet. But only because I don't have a scale! I have gone down one pants size though and I can see some weight loss already. I've started measuring myself which is more important than what a scale has to say about me.
