Hi Esmerald! I am interested in becoming friends. I used to know how to do a Friend Requesy, but now can't figure it out! Can you send me a request? I'm 69 with some medical issues, including fibromyalgia, hypothyroid, arthritis, and recovering from 2 bouts of cancer. I'd love a new friend. Hope to hear from you!

I have been going back and forth with the last 20 for 2 years, after keeping off the first 20 I lost. I know my problem really, I only stay consistent for week then wreak my progress with a day of calorie overage. At my size and age, there's not much wiggle room. Just had a health scare and heart turned out OK, but I am…

Hi Pearlie! I'd love a new friend. Been here a long time and maintained a 20 lb loss, but still need to overcome the next 20-30 lbs I need to lose. 69 y.o. married female. Just had a heart scare, and it's all good! But, what a wake up call! Accepting friend requests, but not into "friend collectors" who just want 300…

I peel my celery. I also break my Triscuits into thirds and match with same size pieces of cheese before eating. Someone once said, "Look at what she did!"

Venison roast can be cooked like a pot roast, with added tomatoes to reduce gaminess. Simmer or roast in covered pan with potatoes, onions, carrots, garlic, basil, rosemary, italian spices or onion soup. Let it simmer for hours (or crockpot) until the meat is fork tender. Awesome!

I had a planned surgery for breast rreconstruction, using stomach skin and fat, for April 2020. It was canceled due to Covid-19 and it looks like elective surgeries won't be happening now for quite some time in my state (VT). All I feel I can do, really, is keep trying to lose weight and get healthier for now.

Hi! I am 68 and have been on MFP for quite a while. I'm pretty healthy, while recovering from a year of chemo and surgeries. Looking forward to skiing AND to staying within my daily limits. I have gained some this month. Looking to lose at least 12-20 lbs. I struggle a little since I'm only 5'0" and need to stay under 1200…

Hi Roslyn! Feel free to add me as a friend, if you'd like. I've been here a few years and keep working at it. I'm probably 10 lbs from goal right now and working on it. I'll be 67 in May.

Feel free to friend me, you two! I am older than you😀. Been here a while, but still working on losing more slowly but surely!
-
Hi! I'll add you! Sending a message and friend request. Willing to be supportive and encouraging!

Try to stay on track each day. If you don't, try again the next day. Small changes and don't give up! You can do this!!

Great thread and advice. Love your attitude! My Doctor recently told me that it takes 2 hours of sleep to make up for 1 hour of sleep deprivation. That surprised me. I fetl much better once I caught up.

Well, I get what you're saying and I needed to hear that tonight. So Thanks!

100 g of cantelope = 34 calories!

So far, I've only heard Romaine lettuce mentioned.

Me too. It did correct after addling the second time.

Congratulations on a job well done!!

I cooked a turkey dinner last night and invited family. Did it last month, too. They love it,. Great protein, sweet potatoes, broccoli, green beans, rolls, and a little gravy. I let the kids mow down on stuffing. Turkey is a great leftover and having it more often takes the "emotional charge" out of it. P.S. Freezing a…

Thanks californiagirl2012! I really needed to hear your advice today! My mantra this week = Fat stays, no deficit. TRUTH! (Going on the fridge!) Whether I like the numbers I can eat or not!
-
This really struck a chord with me. Good fuel for thought as we start a new year of relating to food and emotional health. Thanks.

You might want to make sure you aren't deficient in Vitamin D or sleep. Thyroid okay?

I sent you a friend request, Irene. MFP gives me 1200 at sedentary because I am short. I eat back exercise calories, though.
-
Sorry about that! I have no skill at replying! Healthy habits means looking at what changes you can reasonably make to start. Are you talking about 0 nutrition carbs as chips, fries, nachos, or what? If so, there are whole grain alternatives, veggie based substitutes, or plain old abstinence or portion control. Add in…

Try to understand what normal fluctuations are for your body and don't freak out. I can go up and down 1-3 pounds a day depending on sodium, water, and what the body naturally does. Could I say Relax about it a little?

I started losing so I could play, swim and bike with my grandkids! (Age 8 and 15 mos) I just turned 63 and have lost 31 lbs. I have been stalled for a few months, but I know why (I go over my goal at least twice a week). You can do it! I mostly walk or swim. I XC skied, downhill skied and snowshoed with our older grandson…

I've noticed that when I let myself lose control, it is hard to get it back for a bit, but we just have to do it! I feel badly about myself when I don't eat the way I feel I should; But I feel so much better when I exercise control. Plan your day for tomorrow and make a decision to stick to it. Then do it again. We all…

Hi! It seems to help me if I have a "driving home" beverage - coffee, tea or water and a small snack of fruit (like 100 calories). That helps me not to feel like I am starving when I get home.

Sounds weird, but - add some prunes before microwaving. SO Good!

I overate (a lot) for 2 days on St Patrick's day, with salty corned beef, too. I was up 4 lbs and it's gone after two days of being very tight with staying in goal and drinking lots of water. Sometimes, I don't weight myself for a few days while recuperating. I bet you are fine!
