ME

Hello. My name is Pearlie. I've tried many weight loss/get healthy plans. I decided to sit down and figure out why I always go back to my old ways. I am a snack addict so I've decided to have a snack of my choice every time I complete a physical activity (I'm a couch potato 🥔). I've decided that all diets restrict foods that I like, so I'm going to eat every thing I like, but utilize portion control.

Hi Pearlie! I'd love a new friend. Been here a long time and maintained a 20 lb loss, but still need to overcome the next 20-30 lbs I need to lose. 69 y.o. married female. Just had a heart scare, and it's all good! But, what a wake up call! Accepting friend requests, but not into "friend collectors" who just want 300 friends. I want some kind of interaction. Deb

Hi Pearlie, Love your name. That was my Mothers name, one of the sweetest persons to walk the earth. With a name like that, you must be similar <3 .

My take on your plan is, if it fits for you, try it. I say cautiously though, as I have fallen in the trap in the past that I exercised X amount and burnt X amount of calories so I can have this treat. I overestimated the amount of calories from exercise and actually put on weight.

I have successfully taken off weight in the past 20 years only to put it back on within 2 years. I currently am at the heaviest I have ever been and am trying something new. Slow... and hopefully steady and to slide into maintenance that I hope to be able to keep. I have 50 pounds I am trying to remove and have been at this for about 2 weeks now so I have no success stories to tell at the moment.

I wish you the best of luck

I do this as well. I eat what I want but stay within my calorie goals and do my best to make sure I get good nutrition. I noticed if I cut out foods I enjoy entirely that I binge on them when I finally allow them in my diet for a cheat day, then comes the guilt, and I do it again. I do, overall, try to eat healthier most days but I don’t force myself not to eat something just because it’s “Bad”. There is no “good” or “bad” food, food is food, some are just more nutritionally dense than others. It’s important that we remember that and eat healthy food to get the nutrients we need but not look at it like a chore. We eat to sustain our bodies, nothing more, nothing less.
