• Yes, I can completely empathize with your post. There was a period where my trousers without a belt (that almost looped twice btw!!) were very baggy. I had comments like MC Hammer pants etc ;) The only think I could say about my journey was not being able to get my wife doing it with me and I havent been able to convince…
• I have a chin!!!
• Exactly right! Theres absolutely no excuse to not achieve your optimum health & fitness!
• You've got nothing to be sorry about dude. Its people like you that are truly inspirational and what makes MFP the best health & fitness tool around. Add me if you like as I would sure like to see how you progress through your journey. All the very best.
• Thanks. Yea I really enjoyed my first attempt at it. Not bad time either at 1:30:48 ;) I do weight training at the gym 4 days per week and do HIIT on treadmill or elliptical or rower every other day. I try to fit in a 10km run at least once per week. As for MA. I just dont know if its for me frankly. I kinda like my…
• I've just started doing Hapkido. Never done any form of MA ever. Struggling with the rolls at the moment. Need to go buy some thick gym mats and practice at home ;)
• Your protein intake seems low. As someone else indicated here, around 1g per lb bw is sufficient. Myriad of calculators online that you can use to work this out. Good luck!
• Have you spoken to the school about this? Surely by doing so they could then contact the parents of this child? Failing that tell your daughter to find some new friends....
• I dont think there is anything necessarily bad about Hydrolysed WPI. I read that the main diff between it and say your regular WPI is its made to digest quicker. Probably not a bad option in that case as a pre or intra workout supp.
• As if children dont have enough to contend with trying to fit in without having to deal with weight issues. This is a bit extreme perhaps for some of you, but I truly believe that parents are commiting child abuse by allowing them to become obese. There is simply no excuse for it and its obvious that they are not doing the…
• I use it and have found it effective in keeping BF down during a period of bulking which Im doing right now. I'm keen to see how effective it is when I go back down to a deficit in the coming weeks. I've been on it for 3 months.

• Yep. That's the one! Those legs may as well flap in the wind they're that useless;)
• I'm bulking right now and one of the ways I'm keeping fat at bay is with CLA. It's been clinically proven to work. A number of studies have been done. Refer this http://www.ajcn.org/content/85/5/1203.abstract. If you have the money, there's nothing wrong with using a protein supplement.
• Supplementing your chicken, eggs, cottage cheese, fish etc with a couple of protein shakes uring the day is the best way to attaining that 40%. I'm bulking an I can tell you that even I find it a bit of a challenge! Lay off the carbs after your 5th meal or at diner too.
• ......when the simple act of walking resembles more of a limp and even worse occasionally stumbling around like you're drunk. DOMS on legs is the worst but a great sign that growth is occurring.
• You know, it reminds me of my 4 year old last night. My wife and I were wondering where she was as she was suspiciously quiet. We found her on the kitchen floor cutting an apple and a mandarin on the kitchen floor. When ask what she was doing she replied `I want to be healthy like you dad'. Moments like this are…
• Good on you! I like how you've stopped buying junk into the house. Thats the critical part I think. I mean, kids will be kids and you dont want to deny them the odd treat every now and then.
•
Thanks :D i dont have a problem with eating big ha ha :$ but that in itself is the problem ha ha! This site has taught me alot about what i eat and how much i eat though... so fingers crossed! aprpeciate the info! and grats on reaching your goals! :)
Thanks heaps. I'm sure that most of us here on MFP have…
• I am sorry if you feel that I have judged you. This was not my intention. When you mentioned that you weighed yourself twice a day, I just knew (from personal experience) that this doesnt prove anything by way of achieving your goals. Anyway, I wont go on for fear of further incriminating myself. Good day to you.
• Mate, believe me. Going from a deficit for 15 months to then switching to a surplus messes with your head big time. Initially I was so concerned about putting fat back on that I was doubtful that what I was doing would work. Alas, 5 months on I really like what Im seeing in the mirror. In addition to the mental games of…
• Sounds to me like you are obsessed with weighing yourself. The most I would weigh myself when I lost all my weight was once a week. That's it. There's so many variables that occur on a daily basis that to weigh yourself daily (and by the sounds of things more than daily) is just setting yourself up for failure. Stop…
• Sounds like your next goal is to build muscle. If so, and depending to what extent you might consider upping your calories to above maintenance and ensuring that you are intaking an adequate amount of protein. From my own experience, my biggest regret is that I lost too much weight which in turn burned up precious muscle…
• Monkey see monkey do. When I started to drop significant amounts of weight by changing up my food I didnt realize the residule benefit that it would have on my family. I didn't have to force any of my kids but they simply were observing what I was eating and they then wanted to do the same. Its a very thin line between…
• How about Egg white & oat pancakes, a bodybuilders staple but something anyone can make which is super high in protein and surprisingly really tasty. Into a blender put a cup of quick or rolled oats, 4 egg whites, 2 whole eggs, a dollop of cottage cheese & a sprinkling of cinnamon. Whiz it until you get a smooth…
• G'day I've had a look at the nutritional info on this product. Seems ok to me. If your trying gain as in build muscle mass this would be the product to go for as it has an almost equal proportion of protein to carbs. There doesnt appear to be a high sugar content which you should be wary of with some of these products.…
• Before joining MFP I started my weight loss journey by doing the Fit for Life diet. I was put onto this by my personal trainer that I engaged to get me started. I did Fit for Life for 3 months and shed about 16 kg's.
• I have 3 daughters myself and agree it can be hard to mention the subject. Leading by example as you mention I think is probably one of the most effective ways. My 10 year old daughter is amazing. She has silently been copying everything I eat over the last few months. She doesnt make a fuss about it. She loves eating…

• I've been around a while. Lost over 80lbs over the last 12 months. Feel free to ad me;)
• I actually dont mind McD's sponsoring the Olympics. Dont care too much for their food these days but not enough is said about the work and funding that goes towards community events, charities and the like. I think we should all be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water. You don't have to like the food to…
• Sad part about being at home sick is day time TV and shows hosted by muppets like this guy. Seems to be one giant infomercial for certain types of foods and products.
