week 4: 231lbs week 16: 235.8 (+4.8) week 17: 235.9 (+4.9) week 18: 236.5 (+5.5) I'm hoping I can have a few more weeks with minimal weight gain. I originally had a weight gain goal of 10lbs (since my BMI was obese when I got pregnant). I think I was a bit too optimistic.

I see this thread isn't that active, but I wanted to join in. I am due October 7, and I am obese. I am 5,8" and started my pregnancy at 231lbs. My doctor doesn't want me gain more than 20lbs. I am 16 weeks right now and up, 4.8lbs so far. I started logging today, and I want to keep better tabs on my food intake. I'm hoping…

I just started logging again. I want to make sure I track my weight every week for the remainder of my pregnancy. Goal weight gain: 11-20lbs week 4: 231 week 16: 235.8 (+4.8)

I'm due on October 7 with my first. I just got back to logging, and I found this group right away.

It's so difficult to learn how to be kind to ourselves without food. I try: going for a walk, yoga, reading a book, writing in my journal, listening to calming music. Also taking a bath is one that I like, but I have been living without a tub for a while.

When you phone to make the appointment ask if they can skip weighing you before the appointment because it is triggering, and causes you distress. Make the appointment with your PCP, you are self aware enough to know that you are bingeing and that you need help. Take the step and get the help.

Try reading books written by Geneen Roth, she is fantastic, and sheds a lot of light onto the various issues that some people have with food.

Wow, I'm so amazed with how many people are defending processed sugar in kids lunches. I work in a private school in China, where the students are fed food prepared by the school. There is no added sugar! When we have special events where the students get sugar there is a drastic change in behaviour. Plus a lot of students…

Congrats on your success so far! Realize that this is a way of life, and that you will never be able to stop monitoring your food intake and exercise. The other advice I can give you is deal with whatever motivates you to eat other than physical hunger. Why does the urge strike to eat an entire pepperoni pizza? I don't…

It's tough, as Kabiti said food is coping mechanism for a lot of us. It is something we learned at a very young age, and it is difficult to break years of behaviour. I suggest keeping a journal, not just of what you eat, but about your feelings before and after eating. Are you physically hungry, bored, tired, sad, etc...

Momnoon, I feel your pain. I had to go bridesmaid dress shopping this past summer, and it is very difficult if the other bridesmaids are alot smaller. Suggestions: 1. Practice as much self care, and self love as you can everyday! 2. Look in the mirror and tell yourself something you love about your body. 3. Talk to your…

I'm a Canadian, teaching kindergarten in China. I'm super stressed right now, because I don't get a Christmas break. I have to wait for Chinese New Year for my holidays. Only two more weeks to go. Feel free to add me.

I've struggled with binge eating since I was a child. I've become more aware of my binge eating problem over the past few years. When I feel the urge to binge, I try to identify the trigger before I do anything else. What emotion am I trying to block out: sadness, anger, loneliness, fear, anxiety. Then I think of what I…

Make a list of all the different things you can do, and look forward to you in a day. It sounds like you want to be out of the house and doing stuff. I couldn't imagine staying in everyday, even if there were other people coming over to visit me. What else other than coffee would be interesting to you: library, walking,…

I'm a solid two sizes larger on the bottom compared to my top. Plus I live in China with rail thin women, so I am not paranoid, they are always looking at it. I'm the most insecure about my abdominal area though.

Welcome back, I'm also trying to get back on the healthy lifestyle wagon. I'm in Canada for the summer, but I will be back in China in a couple of weeks, and I'm motivated to get into a good routine once I get back. Good luck with Insanity!

I totally understand, I am a kindergarten teacher, and things are especially rough at the end of the year. I agree with healthy snacks, but you might need to something else to relax before you get behind the wheel. Do some deep breathing, take a short walk, something to get your mind off of that milkshake.

My parents call it the "senior portion diet". My mom in particular has struggled over the years with her weight, and now feels comfortable with her current weight. My dad had cholesterol issues in his 50's, and he dropped 15 pounds and he was able to go off the cholesterol meds. My parents understand me wanting to eat more…

I have issues with binge eating in relation to my anxiety. You have nothing you can do about your situation, just how you manage your anxiety. I try to exercise regularly to curb, some of my anxiety. Yoga, and deep breathing sometimes helps. Honestly though sometimes despite using coping strategies for me it comes down to…

Okay, so here is my list: take a bath go for a walk call a friend write in my journal yoga deep breathing exercises go swimming With that said, I still fall pray to night time binges. I constantly struggle with emotional eating, and my weight loss has stalled for several months now, but I have been able to maintain most of…

I'm not concerned about eating so much by lunch. I am expending a lot of energy in the morning (kindergarten, nough said), and I need the food. I also don't believe in subbing foods. My lack of continued weight loss is due to evening binges. I'm trying to work on what I can do instead of eating in the evening.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Leslisa: I am happy with my exercise. I don't do the gym anymore. Air quality permitting I run. Other than that I climb stairs, walk, occasionally swim, and do yoga at home. I love hiking so much! I don't have much access where I live, but I have been out on a few weekend adventures in the…
