thanks tsim appreciate the reply. I am familiar with the lifts and done them all in the past. Just thought a trainer versed in this program would be good idea. Been many yrs so I wanted to make sure form was good. Now that I am older, very worried about injuries.

1 more question. If and when I start this, I want to do it correctly from the start, proper form etc. Are there such thing as SL trainers? If so anyone know of any near chicago? Web site with trainers listed? Thanks again

if you are hugely overweight, 340 5'11 male. can currently do 2min run at 4.7 2 min walk for total of 5 reps. what is realistic goal as far as training time, to get to where i could complete a 5k? Anyone start at about my fitness level do it? Im 51 yrs old also. Thanks

congrats, motivates me to keep it up. Even though you didnt track your sugar there is no doubt that your added sugar intake was drastically reduced, refined sugars are definitely not irrelevant, especially to a diabetic

Sugar recommendations are for added sugars. I am sure you will get countless posts about dont worry about sugar(added). Fact is better than 10% of U.S. are diabetic. just some bro science here but to me walking at 5mph is way more difficult than the jogging. Also quite a few more steps. Longer in time for smae distance. I am guessin walkin burns more.

I made mistake of thinking ground turkey was way better diet wise. When I finally looked at NI it was worse than ground beef. Just a caveat look for lean ground turkey breast meat, even then sometimes the 93/7 ground beef is better. Once I found the extra lean turk brest I use it in most everyhting especially chili.

it is not about losing weight per se its about nutrition and amounts of sugars and sodium which effect all of us financially(insurance costs, taxes for healthcare etc)

without a doubt i didnt really think that i lost fat, from reading posts on here i realized it was probably water lost. But this kinda goes along with what a lot of lifters preach, abot keep cardio to a minimum and concentrate on muscle building. I would love to know what that study says about increase in muscle mass…

I am not agreeing with this study by any means..........but i was at a plateau for about 3 weeks then i got injured at work. I had to stop excersing and BOOM weight starting coming off at about 2800 cal a day. Just sayin lol
