  • I agree, a big part of resolving the issue is to actually acknowledge it and look at it. Don't beat yourself up for it as it's not going to serve a purpose. Instead, just try to take steps to go back on track. It's easy to "relax" what you do a bit and the first thing you know is that you've relaxed it too much :) Just try…
  • I'm no expert in that subject but have you tried to vary things a little. When you exercise, are you always doing the same thing ? Same for eating, are you reaching a point that your body know what to expect ? Also a couple of tricks that work for me. Carbs not too much at night and never pass 7:00pm, sodium keep it very…
  • I am regularly (during my weight loss and now in maintenance) over my protein recommendation but lower in the sodium category. That has never jeopardize my weight loss and because I go to the gym, it is good for my muscles in general; although i have no aspiration what so ever to become a body builder or anything close to…
  • HI, I understand exactly what you mean. I am also trying maintain and so far so good. I still have to watch very closely what I eat but in a way it's not a bad thing. I have been maintaining for 2 months and I'm ok with the way things go, but noticed the same thing on the scale as you. I was told that my objective should…
  • I do hot air pop corn (no salt no butter) and put that in a bag for work... very low calories and no salt. worked great for me.
  • For me I tried to stay busy as one time I realised that I was making is worse because I was thinking of it too much so I tried to keep my mind occupied for the time that I had to wait. Good luck !!
  • I would agree with everybody.. work with your doctor or get a second opinion if you doubt that your doctor is right. When you work with your doctor, ask him what you can be doing. If walk is ok, then just include regular walks into your days. Walk had been my main exercise when I was loosing the weight. I was walking…
  • There is an option here to under food and then recipe that you can calculate what it should count for.
  • For me, my patter is very clear. I usually "gain weight" which may translate in no weight loss or plain weight gain (about 1 lbs) the week before then after TOM, it's all gone as all the water retained in my body got flushed. So I pay attention to this so I don't panic and keep motivated and I know it's all going to go…
  • You did very very well with your meal. When I go out and I know it's going to be more salty than normal I always make sure to order water so I can flush it out ASAP. So just make sure to drink extra water.
  • I've tried it just for the fun of it and it doesn't work for me. It says that I have a body fat of 33% and I used the body composition machine at the gym that I go to and i have a body fat of 25% so it's a bit off to say the least
  • I had the same issue as you and by loosing the weight and hydrating my skin with regular body lotion on a regular basis, it helps the strestch marks a lot. Honestly my problem now is not the stretch mark but the amount of loose skin I have but I was told that this takes time to go back to normal.
  • I like to keep my fat low and the protein high. So I'm probably around 40% carbs, 35% protein, 10-15% fat But it's a matter of trying what works best for you.
  • Just take one thing at a time or one small goal. Don't try to do everything at one. How about going for walks as part of your day ? If you need encouragement, feel free to add me.
  • Can your hubby help doing some of it so you can stop having a feeling that you are constantly doing something ? I'm divorced and my son lives with me and one thing that happen is that I could NOT do everything anymore... It just became a reality so I put everything I have to do on a piece of paper and prioritized what I…
  • I agree with what was said and I think that one way of doing it for yourself is to stick to it and it will happen. Plan for a routine at first, select activities and days/time that will work for you. Let me explain. At first, you have to get this new habit in your lifestyle and as everything new, it's not always that easy,…
  • Your weight will fluctuate and also when you mentionned that you are not as good during the weekend, what would your water intake or salt intake looks like... For me if I don't have enough of one (water) and too much of the other one (salt), this is not good on my weight after. Also, naturally your weight will fluctuate a…
  • I'm absolutely no expert, but you mentionned that you are way under on your exercise days but not when you don't. Have you looked at eating more on your exercise days, muscles need proteins to grow. Maybe you are eating too less on the exercise day and the days after, your body is starving. Have you tried to plan for your…
  • I was very careful about the fat and salt content in what I was eating and most of all, I introduce some variation. Eating different things and changing my exercise routine to something different as my body was getting used to it. Most of all, I just waited for it to go away and didn't let it get to me.
  • Welcome to MFP, You will see that there are lots of people to support you. For me what got me through loosing the weight and not jumping into any of those excuses, was a trick that I was given. If I want something that is not on the "healthy" side or eating out knowing that I might go over, I was told to seriously ask…
  • You seem to workout quite a bit. I also overdo my protein allowance (should be 60 and I'm usually at 100g-110g). This is the recipe that I think my body need to be optimal and it works well for me. Having said that, I'm not an expert at all. Just going by what feels right for my body. Having said that I've heard that too…
  • Hi, I was in the same boat as you. When I reached my last 10 lbs, they were hard to get because I was liking what I was seeing dressed. I ended up looking at how far I've come and to stop for the last 10 lbs, I fell it would be a big mistake so I decided to beat the bullet and get through them. I paid extra care to what I…
  • Hi, I did not use the WII to weight myself. I was skipping that part and going to exercises right away. I want to weight myself with always the same scales so I don't have to deal with fluctuation from the scale as oppose to mine. Having said that, for me, I was weighting myself more than once a week as I wanted to have a…
  • You have all the reasons to be happy. I remembered when I moved from a 2/3 X to XL (which is the first size you find commonly in the normal store), this was a feeling so good. And WOW running 5K no matter what size you are. I still can't and I've reached my goal. This is awesome for you !!!! BE PROUD OF YOURSELF !!!…
  • Hi, There is probably the willpower but what I found is that it's a different mindset. This has always been my challenge and honestly this is still something I'm careful about but I've changed the way I think about food and if I go out and it's really good, I stop when I'm full and ask for a doggie bag and I know very well…
  • I agree with everything said. Be patient and look at the big picture.. You already have lost quite a few pounds, this should be your motivation. Things will change from week to week and that's just the way the body is naturally. If you would like to have a more accurate picture of what is happening in your body, use a…
  • Hi, I'm a bit different as I've reached my goal but on the other hand, exercise is always a challenge with me as I'm a single mom and also work full time... So time to exercise requires a lot of discipline and honestly althought the weight is gone, I cannot afford and definitely don't want to gain it back; so exercise must…
  • I agree, I am the same. I buy organic and it's all related to NOT putting chemical in my house or in my body. I noticed a difference in taste mainly in carrots and strawberries but for me it's not really about taste but about being carefull with what goes in my body. Also, because I was very very careful about the…
  • I am exactly at that point. I have reached my goal a couple of weeks ago and I have moved to maintenance. I celebrated, but took overeating out of the equation as it was my problem from day one. Why do we use food (and totally overeat) once it's time to celebrate ? Why not eating your favorite meal in your favorite…
  • I'm in the same boat as everybody else. I am not worried too much about sugar coming from natural sources (e.g. fruits) but I'm extra careful about the salt (sodium) and the fat content of things. I've actually never paid attention to sugar other than not eating sweets.
