I'm Sarah, 20 years old from NYC (soon to be 21). My SO and I have been best friends for three years, and he left two weeks ago to go to boot camp (USMC). We've been dating for a little over three months now (we wanted to years ago, but couldn't due to my parents). I can't wait to go to his graduation!

Thank you for the advice! The issue mostly for me is time. I get out of work at 6pm, and by the time I'm done with my cardio it's already around 8:30ish (takes me around ten minutes to travel to the gym) and then I have a two hour commute home to eat dinner!

In my house growing up there was nothing but fried food. All "snacks" however were taboo, and when I was old enough to have my own money, I'd sneak-buy unhealthy snacks just to try them. If I ever have kids I'm going to raise them with the healthy, whole foods eating habits that I've come to teach myself to follow.

I have four companion animal rats!

I used to weigh myself every day, but now I only do it once every two weeks or so. Personally, it keeps me more motivated because psychologically I see more weight loss at once.

Eyeballing can be dangerous! An extra 10 calories here, an extra 30 there...they can really add up! I've gotten so used to measuring that I won't even eat food if I can't measure it anymore.

I don't know about cancer (stick to natural stevia instead of aspartame) but the issue with sweetners is that they are MUCH MUCH sweeter than regular sugar, and if eaten on a daily basis, they trick your brain into wanting more and more, and finding things with natural sugar less sweet. I used to use a ton of fake sugar…

but...but...bananas are so delicious.... Okay, you guys win! I'm going to go to trader joes later and pick up their frozen berry medly!
-
Is there a Trader Joes near you? They sell a Roasted Seaweed snack at a dollar a package. They're 60 calories for the whole package, satisfy those salty cravings, and are only 60 calories!

I looove shirtaki noodles! A whole bag is only 40 calories. Here's my advice though; drain them in a strainer, blot them dry, wash them with cold water, blot them dry, boil for two minutes, strain them, blot them dry. If you do NOT do this, they will have a weird after taste that won't help fool you into thinking you're…

I do, actually. I have PCOS and people with PCOS are prone to diabetes. I was pre-diabetic before I started losing weight. I don't think I could give up on kiwis with their 100 percent daily vitamin C, but I might exchange the banana for frozen berries next time.
-
This is true! I'm just upset that now if I want to have a soy pudding or a newman-o with lunch I can't because I don't want everyone to think I'm some sugar hound!

I have PCOS! Makes losing weight such a pain...

Tings from Pirates Booty! They're like fried cheese doodles, but vegan and healthy...ish!

I was in WW since high school, and always had trouble with it! I've had amazing success with my fitness pal. I think the reason I'm having success here is because at weight watchers they made me feel awful for wanting to eat soy ice cream or other junk foods. Here I just eat whatever i want, and track it until I hit my…

I am right at five foot! I've always been a big girl. My doctor says I'd look skinny at 130, but I don't believe her!

I'm an ethical vegan turned health vegan. When I say ethical vegan, I mean I was eating vegan cheese products, vegan chicken patties...etc. As a health vegan, I've been eating a lot more fruits and veggies and other whole foods (Watch forks over knives, it's a great wake up) Might I suggest the cookbooks 'Vegan with a…
