  • I've been having more than one bad day lately. I have to get back to it. Haven't put on weight, but don't want to overdo it and stretch the stomach either. This group is so good to get us all back on track. Think I'll be needing this support for the next century...lol. Op Date Mar15.
  • All the best for the big day
  • I've done some searching on the internet, and one reason can be dehydration. I think this could be the reason for me, as I am very bad at drinking enough fluids. I was b4 surgery and still am. I called the surgery to check on their diagnosis, they suggested gallstones, but I don't have any pain. They seemed to think that I…
  • It can happen with the first bite of food. It's strange as it seems only seconds since it passes my mouth b4 I feel sick. I have had trouble eating slow, but not in this case. It's like I can't stomach anything, it all makes me sick. Eating slow, chewing lots. It doesn't help. Haven't had any protein shakes, I must try…
  • Very informative. Thanks for sharing.
  • You are doing amazing, keep up the good work!
  • I'm hearing you Moe0112. I am five weeks since surgery and can't imagine going under the knife again. But, maybe in a year or so, I will be considering it...lol I hate my batwings, they are looking pretty bad already. Cheers Chris
  • Thanks all. I managed to hug a pillow last night and finally got some sleep. Should be out of hospital today, yah and feeling really great. Bit of reflux but it's all uphill from now. Thanks for your kind words. Chris
  • I'm two days since surgery. Can anyone tell me if you had trouble laying on your side?
  • How fabulous you look Rob. You must be very proud. Great to see such a big smile b4 & after, shows a great character. Cheers Chris
  • I haven't told too many people, and I am currently on the preop diet. Scheduled for surgery on 9th March. I've decided that I'd prefer to tell people after the surgery, some I have told before and of course my family know and are very supportive. My main reason is that I am not a confident person and any negativity would…
  • Hi Jill, The book is called "Your Complete Guide to Nutrition for Weight Loss Surgery". It's by an Aussie lady, but can't say enough about how great this book is. I found her website. http://www.nutritionforweightlosssurgery.com/Online-Shop/ They have an international edition and also an ebook. It is really worth a go.…
  • Hi Lori & Jill I have been told I have to have the OptiFast Shakes only, as these are more balanced. These don't taste the best either. I did try OptiSlim and the French Vanilla wasn't as bad. But will stick with the OptiFast once I start the preop diet on 23rd Feb. I'll check the name of the book tonight, and repost the…
  • Hi there. I live in Australia and start my preop diet on 23rd Feb. Surgery on 9th March. Have been doing the regular diet so far, with a shake for brekkie and lean cuisine for lunch and dinner. Can't stand the shakes...yuck! As part of my programme, the dietican gave me a book to help with pre and post op diet. There is a…
  • Hi all, I live in Australia and am scheduled for surgery on 9th March. Very excited and very nervous. Looking forward to a new life. I have a great support with friends and especially my family. My only downfall is my hubby (luv him to bits) but he likes to treat me. Even on a normal diet now, he is still asking if I'd…
  • Hi Rob & Kelly I have three appts to go before I even get my op date. Can't even get into the Dr until mid Jan. Oh well, like you said Rob, I have that time to get on track. Xmas period is a hard time at the best of times, but since Summer is so Bl&$dy hot here I should do well in dropping a few kilos before hand...lol.…
  • All the best Vanessa for your Op on Monday. I'm new to this, but have been to a seminar and have my first appt next Wed. So hoping that the booking for the Op won't be too far down the track. Cheers Chris
  • Okay all! I'm not scheduled for surgery yet, but have been to a seminar and booked for my first appt next week. I was hoping to get fast tracked, but they won't do that. You have to go thru the process, which I can understand. But I am *kitten* scared of it all. Not the surgery (well maybe that too...lol) but the lifestyle…
  • Count me into the waiting list for the next challenge. You pick my house for me. I need something to motivate me...Feeling down in the dumps atm...
  • OMG! Way to go! It's a hard slog, and hats off to you for your wonderful achievement. You are amazing and an inspiration to us all.

  • I'm from Leeton, NSW, Australia. I have six horses/ponies and a donkey. My horse is a Welsh Cob of 15hh and we do carriage driving competitions. I also ride my cob, which helps with the carriage driving anyway. All are welsh bred apart from the donkey of course. 1 x Welsh A Gelding called Dalen 1 Welsh B Mare called Prim 2…
  • Fantastic! I totally agree that this site is a life changer. I am a newby, but even though progress is slow, it goes a long way to keeping me honest and not pigging out like I always do. Reading inspiring stories like yours helps others like me to stick to it. So thanks for your story and helping me get thru another day.…
  • What an inspiration you are! Congratulations! I joined a couple of weeks ago, so am new to this website. I needed new motivation and this is it. Thanks to all those on this site who post messages to help others in the same boat with inspiring stories or hope. Okay I have heaps to loose, over 90lbs, but at least I've…
