That's where I started a while back and I usually ate 1400-1600 net depending on whether I was trying to fuel a heavy workout or not (I do martial arts). Some days I'd just say "stuffit" and eat maintenance because I really wanted the extra energy that day. My personal viewpoint was that each maintenance day would only…

Assuming you're not dehydrated at the moment, odds are that you were losing fat all along but water retention was masking the fat loss.

I don't think anyone is arguing that sugar has nutritional value other than calories. But in the absence of a caloric surplus, it's not going to make you gain weight either. If you've got room for it after meeting basic nutritional needs, there's no reason you can't enjoy it.

You really need to see a professional about this. Really really.

When I stop counting, I slowly gain. But counting is a PITA. So I weigh myself daily. I figure that 5 lbs of immediate gain is due to water and glycogen and stuff. When I've gained 10 lbs over my lowest weight, I start counting again until I get back down there. It's starting to be longer and longer between gains, so I'm…

Maybe this diet isn't a good fit for you.

Depends. I log any time I eat veggies as a side dish or main dish. Sometimes I'm sloppy with ingredients. If I have a burger with two lonely lettuce leaves on it I won't bother adding them in. Leaving low-cal veggies out as an inducement to eat more of them absolutely can work as a dietary aid (you just have to adjust your…

Fattier cuts of chicken (leg quarters are cheapest), beans, and whatever vegetables are 99c/lb or less. In this area it's usually peas, broccoli, carrots, and corn, sometimes spinach and celery. The cool thing about leg quarters is that then you can boil up the bones to make the broth to cook your beans in to make them…

I don't usually, unless I'm going to exercise in the morning. Usually I eat my first meal in the early afternoon, work out in the early evening, and eat dinner afterwards. I found that when I ate breakfast, all I could think about all morning was when the next meal was. For some reason, skipping it completely doesn't do…

Probably 26-inch waist.

Are you sure those are fat rolls? I think you really need to ask a bluntly honest friend, or post it somewhere private where you can ask some online friends. I've seen some very skinny ladies who were convinced that they had fat rolls when what it really was, was their slightly-loose skin wrinkling as they sat down.

Exactly what I was coming in to write. If you're very overweight (bmi 40 or so) don't worry about whether your goal would give you a bmi of 27 or even 30. Get there first and then decide if you need to lose more.

Maybe you are burning less than you think and thus eating a bit too much?
-
Because when you're fatter, you use more calories, so you can eat more food and still maintain a substantial deficit.

Nasty breakup -- decided getting hawt was the best revenge.

HAHAHA.

But as we now know, that doesn't remove them from the story :p

For the third one I'm going with Aegon.

And deviate without a reason. Some deviations I think worked, but ... why ... this??

It depends, I think. For example, I love full-fat cottage cheese, I found 1% was quite edible, but non-fat tasted like spoiled milk. I love full-fat milk, but found that 2% was quite edible. So I only eat/drink the full-fat versions when I'm doing a lot of physical labor. I made the recent mistake of eating a lot of the…

Agree with the person who says you're still eating far too little and need professional help. Call your GP, they can help you make an appointment to see a dietician and a counselor. 5 3 and 7 stone is underweight, and you need to be gaining weight. This means that you need to be eating up to your calorie allowance, however…

You can lose weight on a vegetarian or vegan diet just like any other if you cut calories. And just like any other diet, there isn't a magic bullet that will make you lose weight without cutting calories.

pretty difficult to find anything about my personality if you don't *start* by looking at me :D

I'd question the accuracy of logging. Even with some level of metabolic adaptation, at that kind of deficit you should be losing more weight loss. This is not necessarily a bad thing, because this deficit is too high if accurate. There's a limit on how much of a deficit that you can run and still have your body lose…

Weigh yourself at the same time every day

Talk to my face, not my boobs.

If you're going out once a day, I recommend the 'immediately box half the dinner and then have it for breakfast'. Couple this with a light lunch and some exercise and you should be good to go.
-
Haha, my sister sells those!

It's not really radical because mine was never high, but as I've added more exercise and dropped weight (40 lbs as of last physical) it's dropped from consistently being 120/80 to 105/60. I'm sorta eager to see what I get the next time I go for a physical, because I'm 20 more lbs down now.

I love salt. I still salt the hell out of my meat and veggies, but I really had to cut salty carbs (like popcorn, chips) out because I cannot control intake. If I buy chips now, I buy a single-serving bag, and I only do it on days that I do Aikido.
