  • Woohoo. Back in the pool today at last. Only did 30 minutes to ease back in but compensated with a 45 minute walk.
  • I still haven't had a chance to do mine, but I promise I will. I've been struck down with strep throat so it will probably be another week before I'm back in the pool (negotiations with doctor depending). I just wanted to let you know that you didn't go to all that trouble for an ungrateful soandso!
  • This is brilliant thank you so much! I swim in a 25 meter pool at the moment. I'll be giving this a go asap :-) Thanks again
  • Thanks so much, I'm thrilled. That was probably a factor but I found that I struggled with my pace for the first 400...it actually took the longest to do. Once I got into it I increased my speed. First 400 took nearly 15 minutes as I was all over the place with my pace. The next three 400s were around 11 each.
  • Did my Swim for a Mile event today. Olympic pool is amazing but I did notice a difference in my time. Did it in 49 minutes flat, a little slower than usual but for someone who struggled to do 200m back in February I'm delighted!
  • Short swim today. 30 mins freestyle, roughly 1km.
  • I'm from Dublin, Ireland. I swim in the pool in a local gym (Westpoint) at the moment but eventually I hope to join a Masters club. The National Aquatic Centre is just a short distance from my house and the facilities there are amazing...it's a proper Olympic competition pool. That is where I will be swimming on Friday for…
  • That sounds amazing and incredibly generous! I have been totally focused on the swim for a mile event but as that is Friday it would be brilliant to start mixing up my training! I swim mostly freestyle and like AQ, I don't use any equipment other than a kickboard occasionally. I'm not sure what my 100 pace is but I'd guess…
  • Have my mile swim event coming up on Friday so I've been taking it a bit easier. In the pool today though. 2km in 60 mins. All freestyle, 4 x 500 meters. Took about a minute break in between each set.
  • I'd absolutely second what Kida said above. Swimming lessons can be invaluable though so it maybe worth considering them; group lessons are often cheaper than private lessons so maybe that is a possibility. On the breathing front it really is vital to get it nailed down to swim efficiently and kickboard drills are…
  • Struggled a bit today but 1.7k in an hour. Virtually all FC but cooled down with BRST.
  • Yay! Made it back in the pool today. No major issues from the cough/cold but I did have a very obnoxious man sharing my lane who repeatedly disrupted my sets. As a result I'm not sure on distance. I'd guess at 1800m in 50 minutes.
  • Hi all. Emma from Ireland here. I started at 328, my highest weight ever and at 5 ft 3, dangerously overweight. I have lost and gained in the past but that was in the past. So I have logged everyday now for around 4 months and I have been swimming 3/4 times per week since February. The hard work is paying off as I'm over…
  • I haven't been in the pool since Wednesday as I developed a nasty cough. I miss it...hoping to go back tomorrow, but not sure if I'll be clear enough to not swim like I'm drowning!
  • Wow that is quite the difference! Congratulations on your success, you should be very proud of yourself.
  • Hi there, I make most of my meals from scratch. I'm actually really enjoying cooking at the moment. Feel free to add me :)
  • Hi there, This is a favourite of mine as it is reasonably quick to make and freezes well too. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/8096/chilli-beef-shepherds-pie That site is brilliant by the way, you can search for recipes based on calorie content, ingredient type, seasonal, and loads of other choices...it will even…
