    All freestyle today: 250, 500, 1000, 1500, 1500, 1000, 500, 250 yards 114 minutes actual swim time. Finally feeling like I'm getting my form back (somewhat....lol)

    50 minutes in the water, lost count - probably 1800m. 80% Front 10% back and 10% breast.

    Mac I didn't think it was possible for you to loose any form.

    Juliet - LOL, I lose form pretty quickly, but usually gain it back within a few workouts, however, this last go round it's been a real struggle getting it back.....

    Masters. I seemed to to be going in slow motion this morning. We did a 500yd timed swim in the middle and it took me 12:11, which is about 1:13 per 50yds. Slow even for me. I did have one failed flip turn in the middle (water up the nose!) but I guess some days are just like that!

    Yay! Made it back in the pool today. No major issues from the cough/cold but I did have a very obnoxious man sharing my lane who repeatedly disrupted my sets. As a result I'm not sure on distance. I'd guess at 1800m in 50 minutes.

    Finally, after a week in Rome, a week playing catch-up at work, and a weekend with the kids, I finally carved out enough time for a three mile swim. After 2 & 1/2 weeks out of the water, I was cranky and stressed out and not able to swim as fast, but everything will be better now.

    LOL, that's always my first reaction too. If it downpours & stirs up the water enough, the lifeguards can't see to the bottom so they close for that reason.....

    Road Trip. In Grande Prairie so just had to stop at the Eastlink Center and spend a quality 90 minutes paddling. Lost count after 1500m Front Crawl- probably 2200m. All mixed in the last 700m.

    Early morning swim. The pool was very warm and they had added chlorine last night so it was a little stronger than normal this morning. Still managed a slow 1200m.

    Swam 2.32 km in 45 mins this morning - felt good. Off for a long weekend in the countryside tomorrow so no swimming until Tuesday now.

    3 miles. Finally got up and going early enough to make it to the 6am masters practice. Got to the gym early so I could do a quick mile warm-up beforehand. Apparently, they've suspended the Thursday practice while the coach recovers from her knee replacement surgery. So I had a nice chat with a couple of other swimmers who showed up for practice. At least I'm not the only one who doesn't look at the schedule. Then I swam a couple of more miles to get in the distance. I have always enjoyed exercising later in the day, but it is always difficult to carve out the time. If I can re-adjust my lazy morning habits, and make exercise into a morning habit, I hope to be more consistent.

    Rob - I'm also not a morning person, but I do much better getting my swim in at 6am when the pool opens. At least it gives me the rest of the day to get stuff done, when I used to go later it killed the entire day...

    Have to figure how to make tomorrow work - I have to leave early so I can help my wife with something. I was going to do the freestyle workout & do just 1 set of 1500 yards, but I'd like to get another I.M. workout in for the week. Once I see how long it will take me to get from the gym to where I'm meeting her I'll figure out how to set the workout up. I'll make sure I get all the I.M.'s in & cut from the freestyle sets.....

    Swam for about an hour. Mostly sprint intervals mixed with kicks. I felt off with everything, technique, speed, breathing, etc. Oh well, better than not swimming at all.

    It also elevates your metabolism for the whole day, which is probably more helpful for weight loss. I've always been a morning person, in that I love to get up very early, have my coffee, read, think, or watch TV, mostly lazy things like that. When I used to be a runner, I would occasionally take a long run and really enjoyed it, I must say, but in general I like to get the stress relief from working out after I've started experiencing the stress of the day. But, all too often, there's just too much stress that I can't get away from work until late and I like to spend evenings with my kids. So that leaves mornings, I guess if I want to consistently make time for working out. Like the rest of the world does it. But I must say that it is a lot easier to find a parking space at my gym at 5:20 am.

    Well I'm resigned to the fact that this is a lost week. 2 abortive swims that lasted all of 12 minutes each and gym sessions that didn't happen. Hopefully next week I'm back on track!
