Also this is pretty cool :-)

I really empathise with you as I've been feeling the same way lately. Not so much Dorito binges, but wanting bread, wine and cheese. I haven't been exercising as much. I was sick of logging calories, so I didn't. I was annoyed that I'd put on a bit of weight as a consequence and that it happened rather quickly (including…

Thanks so much for all of the tips guys. I really appreciate it. I will give it another go and try all of those things. I must say it's scary because I really really don't want to put on weight but I suppose the health benefits of quitting far outweigh that of losing a bit of weight. Strangely I lost the 3kgs again since I…

Ok so I put on 3kgs. I've been using exercise as a distraction, trying to eat as healthy as possible, and I truly believe I can do it - I don't need those horrible things anymore! BUT the hunger has been OVERWHELMING! I didn't crave for cigarettes, just food. I started smoking again yesterday and the hunger is gone. *hangs…

Oh hi again! I'm sorry I don't know what sort of weights you should be lifting, but the opinion around here seems to be that women can lift far more than they think, and that to build muscle you should lift to "exhaustion" at the end of your sets. Might be wrong... so maybe it would be best to get some guidance from a…

At the movie stars that have pear-shape bodies try and build muscles on their upper bodies to even out their shape. So toning exercises down below and bigger weights up top :-)

Thanks all for your words of encouragement. I am certainly committed, and now think of myself as a non-smoker. Yes Alan Carr's book has been read and is very helpful :-) The suggestion of low cal snacks is great thank you... I'd just prefer I could make the food cravings lessen even just a little bit!

Hi everyone. You all have wonderfully inspiring stories! I really need some help and posted this before I found your thread http://rational.org/shop/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=13 I'd appreciate if you'd take a look at my story and let me know if you have any advice for me. Cheers and take up the good work!

For me, eating high carb / high GI foods makes me crave sugar like crazy. Before paying attention to my diet, I would have overwhelming cravings every night without fail. It's something to do with insulin - lots of those books you see about GI and sugar explain it. Perhaps you could try eating lower GI foods and adding a…

Hi guys I started slim in 6 yesterday and am finding it really great. I have a back injury and have looked and looked for a good workout I can do that will not hurt my back or rely on core strength that I don't have. I can do this and it doesn't hurt. YAY! Good luck to everyone else who is trying it :-)

Personally I would like it. As many have said here, it doesn't equate to them being a bad instructor. Anyway, don't they say a chef never cooks at home?
-
Yep it fascinates me to see how much my weight fluctuates. Especially how much you lose overnight!
-
Oh Hi! I started another thread because I got no response to this one :-) Here it is if you want to see what people said http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1434004-apple-watch

LOL You are a great craic.
-
Well that's really fabulous then. Enough said :-)

I see your point. I myself have had to learn to become a bit obsessive about what goes in my mouth and what I choose to eat so I can gain some control and lose the weight I need to. Wouldn't take much for someone vulnerable to take it too far. Absolute control of yourself is very addictive for some people.
-
Cheese and wine definitely
-
Yep totally did that. Then lost the obsessiveness and instead couldn't be bothered. Then found a balance. I think the obsession at first was a good thing because it made me reset my brain and motivated me to make the changes I needed to. Don't worry about the obsession - I'm sure it is helping you at the moment and will…

Hi there, welcome back and congratulations on your success! I recently bought a fitbit too, and it's really inspiring me to do lots more exercise. I also downloaded the P90x program after hearing so many people on here talk about it. After watching some of the videos, I think I will definitely need to shape up a bit more…

Maybe a week ago I was feeling exactly the same way as you. In fact my tummy was starting to sort of hurt when I ate dinner. A few days ago I went to a friends house for dinner, which included home made fried donuts and a chocolate dipping sauce, which I of course ate and really enjoyed. Now I'm ravenous all the time and…

Hi Chickie :-) I know you know me a bit already, but I'm not sure if I told you that I grew up being very overweight, and at your age was withing 2kgs of your weight now. I went on a big journey for a few years and actually managed to reach my goal weight. Almost 20 years later, I do have to lose some again, but I did…

Bump :-) Great stuff here cheers.
-
Me too - day 5! Will send friend requests to lots of you tomorrow when I have a bit more time. Want to challenge me to a "step off" anyone? My username on fi.tt is Fiona Whittaker. Look me up - it's fun!
-
Bumping for future reference. Very enlightening!
-
Great book :-)
-
It does too! Poo, should have bought one of those I s'pose!

Geez some people on these discussion boards act so intellectually superior. I said "apparently". I didn't say it's definitely true or that I had done extensive research and read scientific papers on it. I read a best-selling book by Dr Sandra Cabot. She's written lots of books and hosts some TV show about getting…

It helps flush out your liver before you start eating for the day which helps the whole system apparently.
-
But is it on the market already? Before I bought my fitbit last week, I did lots of research and I couldn't find any device that tracks steps, sleep etc AND monitors heart rate. All the forums on here seem to say this also, which is why many people have two devices. Maybe I'm missing something.... @AglaeaC - well, yeah!
-
Well... I bumped it and it didn't show up for me! I'm an idiot obviously :-)
